Confidence and Prediction Limits for EC50 and IC50

  • Here is a simple way to calculate confidence and prediction intervals for linear equations and curves, but also for logistic or sigmoidal equations and curves as is done in EC50 and IC50 determination.

    Doctor, one question. Unless I am mistaken, the confidence intervals calculated here are 'bars' on the Y axis. In a EC50 determination, I would have concentration on the X axis and detected signal on the Y. Is there a way to find out the Confidence Interval of the concentrations of the calculated EC50? Would one simply use the calculated upper and lower confidence values in the inverted equation previously used to create the points of the regression curve? Thanks for the fantastic material.

    Hi Dr. Gerard, I have a question: Can I use the first method in non-linear regressions? or, is there another method to determine C.I. in non-linear regression similar to that?
