Thanks a lot Shaan, love from India 🇮🇳Your videos have helped a lot but my issue is still causing a lot of trouble😢😢
Can you please read it once, I need help!
I am in deep trouble since last 1 year.
I had some ocd before this but from last year due to some fear something got triggered and it became very worse.
I am fighting since 1 year and currently the main problem is.
That my mind is auto visualizing everything, mostly if it dangerous or fearful then it does it more. Even while talking or reading etc.
And a constant rubbish auto visualization that a big knife or something harmful(a sharp plate type thing or something unclear) is coming with speed on my neck and will cut it or hit it. It is very frequent sometimes😔😢 and the thing is
everything is normal around me but this visualisation keeps going and it is very difficult to convey to my mind that nothing of that sort is real. But it creates choking and pain in neck😔
I am troubled due to this.
Then I have to change it or do something or kill the visualisation with another visualisation or something otherwise it becomes very distressing and I am not able to work or focus on anything😞
And this 1 is main and another is the fear of some wandering soul (bhatakti aatma) which i fear is in my house of entering my body, it started from this only. I am not able to fully get over this fear as this fear accompanies the visualisation where my mind creates auto visualisation of something unclear coming towards me from back and will enter my body and do harm to me and will cause trouble to my body😢 and it creates lot of heaviness in back and bad feeling where it is difficult to work or do something 😞
And based on different fears it changes and creates anxiety accordingly as my mind auto imagines these fearful things.
Like I heard about an incident where rods in a truck entered inside the bus in an accident. So that auto visualisation comes that the rod might hit my neck or chin and i see that as mind creates that imagination automatically 😢 and creates distress and anxiety.
And then all of this leads to overthinking a loop of thoughts that nothing will happen to me and all.
And I fear dogs to sometimes when I am outside walking and there are fogs around then the mind creates auto visualisation that the dog will come from back and will bite or attack me. And due to that lower legs and that region gets a bit of pain and heaviness 😢
How to deal with all of this? Please please help.
I have been trying several ways, it has got better but not cured. Sometimes it gets difficult. My kind tries creating some visualisation formed of light always. It is always requiring some visualisation otherwise it tries to go to bad ones and I am fed up of doing replacement visualisations as that also doesn't lets me focus.
      I need help!😢 Please!

You likely have a thiamine deficiency. Look up what thiamine deficiency is, and how you get a thiamine deficiency. You'll want to buy some nutritional yeast, B Complex vitamins, methylated B12 and methylated thiamine. High dose Thiamine and Magnesium with Zinc and Vitamin C. Any autonomic system issue is likely from a low thiamine level. I wouldn't walk, run to the store and get some B1 (thiamine) with the proper vitamin supplementation. What you speak of here is truth. I struggled with chronic anxiety from as young as I can remember. I became chronically ill 10 years ago. The last two of those years I was bed ridden. I’m 46 now. Two years ago I got sick of the mental fear cycle. I went through a loop of accepting it vs doing something to pull myself out of it. In my efforts to do something, it helped and I would keep pushing and it would set me back. Every time I got set back, I’d get pretty frustrated and it would set me back more. I was helpless and there was nothing I could do. Soon, I accepted my condition. It brought on healing and I’d be back at doing something until it again, set me back, then frustration, set back, then acceptance and more healing. I noticed every time o accepted it, I would heal. So, I’d practice the acceptance where I’d wait to see if it brought on healing. Nope. It didn’t work, just more set backs. True acceptance is where it’s at, with no expectations. I am a yoga teacher today. Lift weights and have a normal life, I still have some nervous system symptoms, but I accept them and can function. It keeps getting better, though I don’t expect it to. I allow it if it wills.

@ I had to find a pace. Where I could get up and just walk to my door, then rest. Get up, do it again. I found a pace I could handle where it wouldn’t crash me. I did very gentle exercises. Yoga and eventually weightlifting. It was extremely slow at first but if I kept under my threshold, I wouldn’t crash and I’d make quicker and quicker progress. In total, it took me two years to get to the point where I’m now a yoga teacher and have been weight lifting.

I write this advice after watching all of Shaans videos and reading Dr. Claire Weeks' book because it helped me recover. You can overcome this. The main thing is if you made it past 1 month with anxiety, then you already know nothing is going to happen to you. You'll be fine so try not to avoid work, outings, traveling, etc. Keep on living. Don't fight the symptoms. Don't use teas, herbs, weighted blankets, meditation, don't let your body know you're fighting. Think of a time when you were most relaxed. For example, you were watching a movie, sports, just sitting down on the couch, looking at the sky. Think hard on how you were breathing when you were super calm. For me it was soft breathing. No deep breaths, no long exhales. Now, from now on to when you're going through anxiety symptoms and difficult moments, where your adrenaline and cortisol are high, and your symptoms are out of control, BREATH how you would when you were in that calm state. No deep breaths, just calm breaths. All the time. At all moments. Eventually your nervous system will pick up on it, that you're safe and there's no threat and you'll get better. It's easier said than done but it took me a few months to drastically reduce my symptoms. Now they're non-existent. Slowly you'll start to build confidence and reduce fear to when eventually you recover.

@@somatea9187 I remember at first I would always think I was going to die. I went through so many bad states and attacks that eventually I got to a point where I knew I wasn’t going to die, I started to think “nothing bad is going to happen” and “this too shall pass”. Then I started breathing soft and tried to be as calm as I can be during each panic attack and state of panic, even though it was difficult.
It takes practice and time. It will feel like it’s not working but over time my symptoms got better. And then better. And then better. Now I’m back to normal but it’s a rollercoaster ride. So many up and downs even when you’re in the process. Don’t get discouraged if you panic when you’re feeling and getting better. It’s natural. Just keep at it.

As someone who’s been dealing with anxiety and depression all her life, I understood what is going on. How we react to the outside world, as I have found out, and observed from my past and present, is based two things; our self-esteem and if it’s low, then it’s the result of THE outside world and its expectation of how we are suppose to look like, behave, etc…and Our gut bacteria. No amount of therapy, self talk, self love, breathing, and so on helped me, ever. I may be able to heal my gut bacteria, but being raised in an unloving environment, and living in an insane society doesn’t just cure your self-esteem you know.
Our anxieties, depression, our fragile nervous system are the REACTIONS to unhealthy environment! That’s our body telling us that something isn’t right. And that something can either be changed from within or without, or can’t.
Anyway, I have accepted that living with this reaction to a sick environment is a part of me. I can’t heal it because I can’t heal the world. It’s not “My sickness” that needs recovery. And since it’s not my illness, but my reaction, I either have to become a totally different person with no feelings, no care in the world (which is impossible), or as I mentioned, I accept that what I’m feeling is normal, and let’s take care of my body the best I can, heal my gut, exercise, and have my normal reactions to an evil world

Those techniques work almost instantly if there is not much resistance within. The more restance to reality there is, the less likely they are to work and needs the approach you shared.
I have not educate myself but I did observe what caused my inner pain. It was always the resistance to what "was". It was the trying to control and trying to fix the outer reality and people so I would feel safe. The moment i accepted the reality I was fine and on top of that I stopped caring about it. I was at peace. I have learned to do it consciously. My life is now peaceful and joyful for the most part since my nervous system is calm.
Feeling like a victim feels awful to me. Emotionally and physically. Feeling like a creator feels great 👍

The man knows what he's doing. If only i could clone him and rent him out. 39 years anxiety and panic. Only had one other counselor this knowledgeable in basics and non medicine treatment. That first one was 50 years ago. What i like is even if it doesn't work for and with you there is no harmful tips or tricks. Just basic honest commentary and suggestions and methods to work with. I like the idea of having the chance rehash with someone who has experienced it theirselves. Sometimes that one sentence you say opens a hundred responses. Just my experience.

I could get rid of my ptsd by consciously breathing out just by relaxing. Have you ever been jump scared? You usually freeze for a second and hold your breath. Also when you deep thinking you forget to breath a lot of times. The secret is to not focus too much on the inhale, but too focus on the relaxation of your body when exhaling. Dont force it, just let loose, when exhale Do this method whenever you think of it and it will get better

I’ve been suffering for 4 months after a traumatic experience led my to have a mental breakdown and severe anxiety.
I did all of this work, awareness and acceptance. I went back to my normal ways of living and thinking and I had another nervous breakdown.
Whilst I agree with all of this, a missing piece is that everyone deals with stress differently, for me it was recognising that certain things overwhelmed me and if I didn’t take a step back in the short term I never would recover.
Even learning meditation and deep rest has been pivotal for me in the recent weeks, I’ve felt the best I have although still have a long way to go.

I realize I'm sensitized, and never been scared of the symptoms but they're just so uncomfortable that I think my brain perceives them as dangerous. Now they're non-existant.

    • @vassybaby16
      @vassybaby16 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Sam-iu1pkbreathing doesn’t do it for us who are sensitized. My trigger just shows up subconsciously and I breathe just fine. I just feel this intense stress/terror hit. I have to pretty much ignore it and wait for it to pass with no reaction. That’s hard when it’s 2am and you just want to fall asleep but laying in bed is triggering you. I tried the breathing and it doesn’t help. Once you actually get into the real mechanics of anxiety you learn why it doesn’t help. That’s great it worked for you but even Shaan says they didn’t work for him if you watch his other videos.

I haven't drank in a few months and that neuropathy sensation seems to have calmed down a little bit but I'm so connected and in tune with the way things are going that I get stressed out very easily and when I do those symptoms come back. Society carry a lot of shame. So we tense up, and this lead to pain and symptoms. Acceptance fit well into this theory, accept your symptoms, accept your emotions, accept your thoughts, accept the things that happened to you, accept that there is suffering and pain in this world.Grieve and accept.

Ok so I’ve been thinking lately… I haven’t been freaking out over symptoms I’ve actually been remembering them as a kid. I used to get dpr and be like I love this this is a cool feeling. And I’ve been calming down. When my cycle comes I feel insane and that’s a whole different story lol. I do accept how I feel I don’t panic but I do see the anxiety symptoms coming and changing my whole view and physical. But I was thinking, you say you have to accept the symptoms and eventually they calm down. I think back to when mine first showed up. I was almost blacking out, I wouldn’t randomly shake, my heart would pound. I actually didn’t care, I would be like oh that’s weird. But I still felt all my symptoms 24/7 I didn’t have access to Google so I was never thinking I was gonna die, I had no extra thoughts to it, yet it all continued after a few months of this I finally was like what’s wrong with me? I told someone and they were like omg what if you black out while holding your baby or you’re driving… boom triggered panic attacks for me and then I started seeking doctors left and right. But in the beginning I was just a human living my life not even caring about the anxiety but it stayed. Looking back at that time in my life, I know I was severely dehydrated, severely anemic, and lacking lots of nutrients because my diet consisted of all fast foods and soda. lol

I have a question for people who recovered from anxiety, how long did it take for your anxiety to go away, or at least be lowered enough to be insignificant?

If theese are all symptoms from the nerveous system, then the big question is why/what causes the nerveous system to give these symptoms and become sensitive?

Hey Shaan could you make a video specifically about OCD?

    • @vassybaby16
      @vassybaby16 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It’s an offset of anxiety. OCD is just obsession of a fear anxiety has created. For me is constantly focusing on my breathing and current state of being. I get a lot of intrusive thoughts. I also clean all the time until things are spotless. It’s all just anxiety.

That’s exactly where I am. I’ve been in the acceptance phase for a few weeks and I’ve noticed my hyperarousal has gone down a little bit. But now I’m very tired even with getting better sleep. Along with being tired I’m kind of emotionless. It’s a very unsettling feeling but I know it’s part of recovery. I am treating it just like any other symptom. Accepting it and letting it run its course.

What If I might have physical problems and on top of that anxiety? Maybe it's caused by my bulging disk maybe not. How do I calm my nervous system if I can't be 100% sure.
