    Two days fishing for two fish might not be the best trip ever, but it probably beats two days chained to a desk and spreadsheets.
    Jack Russels are fearsome beasts! Truly excellent dogs.

      It is mostly about the last spot,but the fishing can be really good there when you can get it right.I was halfway there with the good weather,which I could seriously do with right now.

    Jack Russells were mousing and small game hunting dogs originally, I believe. Maybe ferreting dogs? They come by it naturally. Lots of boundless energy and sometimes trouble....Enjoyed the Dog and Man sketch.

      Don't get too carried away ,the UK shore fishing scene on flat beaches is a bit of a challenge. Fishing deep water down the West Country or Wales from rocks gives a much better shot at success.

    Remember getting back from a fly fishing session to try out a new line and reel. Left my bag with the reel in it on the garage floor while I made a cuppa only to find my Patterdale shredding the line and a good chunk of the reel. This was in the process of being buried in the centre of my lawn. Still recall the pleased expression on her face at the size and depth of the pit she had excavated.

    Hi Graeme,
    Just a wee catch up. What are your thoughts on Multipliers? I cannot for the life of me understand why we have right hand wind Multipliers, unless of course your left handed.
    I know we can get left hand wind ones with a line lay which would be my choice from a boat but from the shore it's all right hand wind. It's Alien to me.
    Maybe you could do a video on this to help understand more.
    Steve in Fife.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a video up on casting with a multiplier,can't remember what I went through on it. If you are used to casting with fixed spool reels I would stay with them. I used multipliers all the time years ago off the shore,but now I just use fixed spool reels. Basically no snarl ups so my bait is in the water longer. I know what you mean though,if most folks are strongest in their right hand why are they not using that for pulling on the rod and winding with the left ? It does seem strange to pull with the weakest hand yet wind with the strongest ?

    What I don't understand is that people use lead throwing weights on a pebble beach.
    I myself would use the boulders that lie on the beach.
    By bringing boulders of around 150 / 160 grams and making a mounting eye on them at home.
    If you lose your casting weight, it is 100% better for the environment and also cheaper.
    Okay that was my comment. I love watching your beach fishing adventures . Thank you Graeme 👍👍👌👌

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can buy stones for fishing weights,they come with a swivel attached. But they don't have the same density for casting long distances like lead does.

    • @flyingdutchman8028
      @flyingdutchman8028 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stones I'm looking for are just as heavy as my old casting lead.
      I drill the hole myself to glue a stainless steel homemade eye in it.
      And I still keep casting the same as with lead. I cast between 150 to 175 meters.
      And no I don't use rods of 800 euros or more.
      I have a simple hangel of 4.50 meters for around 80 euros.
      Time for a fishing holiday in Holland and then I will take you to our pier in IJmuiden so that you can come and fish for a day with stones as a casting weight, Graeme

    I love Jack Russel's they are such fun dogs. Very intelligent and so easy to train. Shame about the fishing here in Swansea, it has been barren of fish since February.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's unusual surely ? I always thought of Swansea as a year round fishing spot. Mind you I hear a lot of South Coast beach and boat fishing been pretty dire as well..I wonder why it is so patchy. Coming towards mid April should surely be picking up by now ?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sea fishing,shore or boat its the raw prawns,Tommo,the top skipper out of Watchet Marina put me on to them. For freshwater its the regular cooked ones,but I have noticed if the pink ones are left out a day the freshwater fish seem to like the stronger smell. Just don't put them in your sandwiches !
