At 35:28 when Steve-O teased shaggy about the missed kick, the way shaggy didn’t care or take that personal but instead apologized for his actions is one of the reasons why I’m a huge fan of icp. I don’t know anybody in the entertainment business that is as humble as they are and I’m very thankful to have grown up with them as my favorite artists of all time. I have a feeling that after they have been long gone they will still have a strong and loyal fan base.

@Heffe no, it is hilarious. I even gained a lil more respect, with key emphasis on "lil," when Danny Brown went to the Gathering on that Vice doc episode. Danny Brown is dope and that shit was hilarious. And from a business perspective they definitely cornered the trailer trash market and that's genius; however, it came at a high cost to their "art," which is horrifically awful imo. The music is sooo bad. So no kid, I think I've got a pretty good grasp as to their M.O.

It's crazy if you watche the videos of him an j or just him or just Jay they don't see themselves as part of the greats I grew up listening to them and her it is 2023 and my kids listening to them in my opinion icp is and will be one of the top rap groups of all time shaggy and Jay are the real goats
True, met him several times from 96-98 & he was always down for conversation. Unlike Joe, he could be mad af over something when he was the one incorrect.
Met Shaggy in-person once and he was beyond nice. Also I laughed my ass off during this entire podcast. Killin' it, Steve-o. Never would've guessed you would be instrumental in my ongoing sobriety.

I met him to , really humble dude , I met him at the gathering there was the group watching chicks mud wrestle and shaggs walked up with no make up and just mingled with the fans . took pictures he was cool as fuck , J was kinda Douchey when I met him .
I was an ICP hater for a long time. My younger brother was big into them but I always thought it was really bad music. After watching interviews over the past few years I grew to really like and respect Shaggy and J. They Crack me up every time.
I was the same way back in high school in the 90s and in the 2000s and I can’t see like I like their music and I listen to their music but I like them. Honestly looking back they were really smart about how they marketed themselves because they have a fan base that will buy anything that has their logo on it. I don’t really care for their fans but there’s TH-cam videos of them pretty much admitting that their fans are kind of dumb. Not all of them but like some of their more extreme fans that have done some really stupid shit Like getting the face paint of violent J permanently tattooed on their face forever and now they are in a spot where they realize no one will hire them.

They were smart enough to start their own label and they own the rights to all their merchandise and they made a lot selling that over the years. When you have a devoted fan base that will buy anything with your logo on it hell I don’t blame them at all. Musically they aren’t a group I listen to but I can’t knock them for making smart business moves
I'm not a fan of the music, but they are really enjoyable to listen to on podcasts
God, laughing so damn hard I'm crying. This is possibly my favorite podcast so far. Two very different sides of my childhood, in the same room. You got some good podcasts but LoL some of these conversations with this one were too perfect.

I met Steve-O after his live show in Melbourne, Australia back in 2004. I was wearing an Insane Clown Posse ‘Riddlebox’ t-shirt. Steve-O was sitting at a table signing autographs and when he saw me he jumped up and randomly started signing my ICP shirt. I asked if he liked them and he told the story he told on the Violent J podcast where he met them and offended them, and said he really regretted it. Me and my buddy I was with then got a photo with Steve-O. We stood either side with Steve-O in the middle and as the flash went off he swung his fists back and punched us both square in the balls. It made a great photo. I’ve really enjoyed watching these podcasts and seeing Steve-O make up with ICP.
I love the magic of Steve-O, where he can punch two people in the balls randomly and it's a good thing

Growing up in the early 90s just outside of Detroit, those guys were like folk heroes to a lot of kids who didn't have friends and got picked on every day at school. I remember that they made a comic book (probably worth a fortune now), that they used to keep on a rack next to the used cassette singles at the local music store haha.

I got it from a icp street team guy that was handing them out at Thrillivania Halloween Park in at the time was Forney ,Tx back in 2000.
