25 years old and this is the first artist to bring tears to my eyes. Such emotion and storytelling. She is literally taking life by the reigns and saying “hey listen to me.” I feel her music on a profound level. I’ll keep trying harder.

Her voice is big, that's for sure. Most of the great singers lose that when they get older. She only gets better. Tom Jones is my other favorite big-voice singer. Interesting that they are both Welsh. I can find only one song that they recorded together. A shame they didn't do more.
John Doe Between Shirley Bassey and Cher they are both amazing woman and both have excellent strong voice.
They are definitely legends and icons like not other singers out there.

Absolute Legend and still sounds amazing at 83. Most female vocalists lose their ranges and the voice changes as they age. Shirley's is still incredible.

Her vocal preservation is astounding, especially for such a large voice. I don't hear any significant wobble which large voices so often demonstrate with age. Whatever technique she has, it needs to be taught to all aspiring singers.
She lost her voice in her 50s and needed vocal coaching to retrain it. That may have helped preserve it.

That's one of the many reasons why I have such respect, love, & admiration for this incredible, inspiring, & triumphant woman...!!! 👍🏼 🧡*
I saw her at Carnegie Hall when I was maybe 21 years old. I have never heard a voice like that again since. She has magic in her. I hope when this pandemic is over she does another tour. I can’t imagine life without seeing Bassey live again.

I was at castle Howard in Yorkshire for her 65th birthday, the term living legend ,superstar ,there is no one who comes close ,pure class I cringe when they call singers of today superstars they are all minor celebrity’s who cannot sing without auto tune go for it Shirley keep performing never stop this latest album just shows what a classy lady you are xx

She has slowed things down over the last 10 years or so. No more tours and the odd charity performance or tv appearance. You can tell she has more joy recording now and i think after 70 years in the business she deserves a rest. But she’s an amazing lady. Doesn’t look her age and that voice is as good as it ever has been 😀
She probably has a good two or three more group of five years left. Use them! She could also appear on some award shows and stuff every now and then. I’m just saying, keep going until you can’t. Until the end.
