Fortnite really got me invested in games again. It came out when I was 16 or 17. I played it once because it was free and I had no money. This was before seasons and it's popularity. And then I deleted it right after because I was very confused on how to play. I would play mobile games every now and then that was PUBG clones or PUBG mobile. Believe it or not, I must've been living under a rock because I had no idea how popular the game became until 2019. I never seen clips or anything lol. Wasn't fond of the game early on, but it grew on me. Buiding and editing is why I stayed around. But that's also why many people left. Thje charm of the game has worn off for me. I could quit for a while, but I like coming back. The updates are hype, but I'd imagine that will get somewhat old. But there's a ton of content, different modes, and cosemetics that people have spent hundreds of dollars on overtime. And it's still a free game. You've mentioned all this as well. It won't be dying but I'm ready for something completely new. I honestly think games like Fortnite and the commercial success it had early on (and still till this day to an extent) is once and a life time. So many people got their start and careers off this free game.
Personally, I always take the variety in Fortnite for granted. I play one mode for like 20 minutes and then quit, but there’s a ton to do, I just never bother checking it out
