I have many of these games or have played them. Have you heard of the game Leverage? Leverage is a old game (1983) it has your travel and capture mechanics with the board balanced on a fulcrum. I fortunately picked up a copy this year.
The game Camelot was rereleased in the 1980s as Inside Moves. They changed the look of game, especially the pieces, to give it an even more abstract vibe, but the rules remain the same. Still not easy to find, but easier (and cheaper) to get hold of than the original.

Have you played the game Homeworlds by Looney Labs? It's one of my favorite abstract strategy games, as it delivers tons of strategic depth in a very small package, and it has some mechanics that I've really never seen before, especially that there's no board or grid at all. Even Hive has the *implication* of a hexagonal grid, but Homeworlds is completely freeform.
@@AdaminWales I'd love it if you played it, especially if you mentioned it in a video! I've yet to see a Looney Pyramids fan with a favorite game besides Homeworlds, and I definitely understand why. While it does have a steeper learning curve than most pyramid games, it's not more complicated to learn than, say, chess, and it's got loads and loads of depth to its gameplay. I'm impressed that they were able to fit so much cool stuff into nothing but 36 pyramids, not even a board.

I like tash-kalar, has that cool Mage arena battle involved, I played it a ton on the website (boardgame arena) and then bought the real game.
