It is like the scene from The Wire where McNulty finally busts drug dealing kingpin Stringer Bell, and then he raids his apartment and finds all kinds of books on philosophy and business, and asks "... What kind of man was I pursuing?" That was likely how Jotaro felt once he found Dio's journal.
Forgetting the fact that Dio was still a massive threat, who was actively killing Holly and Josuke just from being alive, and he was gaining more and more control over time. So even if they ignored him, that would be a bad move on their half.
When watching part 3 I was wondering why tf dio thinks he'll rule the world when he can't even go outside in the day like at least kars had an elaborate plan, but part 6 answered that question

But Phantom Blood, as bare bones as it is (because Araki was just starting out as a writer), also shows that Dio grew up poor with an abusive father and in a place where people treated him like shit (like that clip of that one man who he beats in chess for his food and money and the guy just smashes DIO's face in the food) and that contributed to him becoming pretty psychopathic,

It’s not a bad thing because it doesn’t make him flawed, but the problem is that his character lacks depth and solidity. In the context of parts 1 and 3, it’s fine because not even the main characters receive such development and the story is kind of just there waiting for the clash of the two sides of the conflict. Heaven is what made me like Dio a lot more as a villain. He was already a villain to despise, and The World is a cool stand, but he never had that third layer to me that made him good. Sometimes a villain could be powerful, but if they weren't interested in providing an interesting idea or sympathetic, I found it harder to like them. As much as I know that Dio's idea of heaven has multiple flaws in the practice of fate and pre-determined destiny, heaven as he describes it is a very interesting concept all the same because it can start a conversation. It's also the reason that Pucci follows up right behind Dio for me: 1. Dio( due to charisma, stand, and idea of heaven) 2. Pucci( heaven and succeeding Dio) 3. Funny Valentine (felt like a real politician; first napkin philosophy and D4C were awesome) 4. Yoshikage Kira (eerily realistic) 5. Diavolo/ Doppio(King Crimson) 6. Pillermen (Wammu, Kars, Esidisi) 7. Tooru(subject to change as I'm still reading JoJolion)

Dio travelled a lot in between the time that he escaped from the coffin to the events of Stardust Crusaders, and most likely gained pretty intimate knowledge of stands and how souls work in that world. Dio's clearly gotten this Soul/Stand stuff down to a science. He essentially reincarnated himself with the help of Pucci in a form that has way more potential development due to it being 36 powerful souls + Dio's vampiric abilities + Joestar blood.
He was always cocky but had this kind of behavior. We can see it when he manipulates Avdol and Kakyoin on their flashbacks near the start of Part 3. Plus, don't expect a 100+ year old vampire to not learn stuff and talk this way. After all he was a "gentleman" in some ways in Part 1.
He came to learn about Fate, thus a plan to utilize a stand born using the perfect arrow with the purpose of godhood and have it ascending to Heaven in order to guide the universe was born

Outside of my disgust toward what part 6 did to the franchise, there doesn't seem to be anything compelling about using the medium of animation here I watch this and I watch one punch man and am blown away by the framing and sound design during Garou's fight. Like goodness gracious, this is why I watch anime. Baki vs Oliver? Animated? Im left wanting more. Its why I even gave the pickle arc a chance Part 6 isn't really good for memes even. Part 2 & 3 were dripping with them. Part 4 had a solid premise and was visually striking. Part 5, say less its the Golden experience. The darkest, edgiest premise yet Part 6 is completely noir. Its a snuff piece, but I suppose that Araki was compelled to make due on frills, so he made a full season of it I dont see why they couldn't make like a 4-5 part OVA. Everything about it reads like a graphic novel. I just dont get the appeal of making an entire animated set when it ends up looking like THIS

What dio was thinking under the ocean:
Heaven is what made me like Dio a lot more as a villain. He was already a villain to despise, and The World is a cool stand, but he never had that third layer to me that made him good. Sometimes a villain could be powerful, but if they weren't interested in providing an interesting idea or sympathetic, I found it harder to like them. As much as I know that Dio's idea of heaven has multiple flaws in the practice of fate and pre-determined destiny, heaven as he describes it is a very interesting concept all the same because it can start a conversation. It's also the reason that Pucci follows up right behind Dio for me:
1. Dio( due to charisma, stand, and idea of heaven)
2. Pucci( heaven and succeeding Dio)
3. Funny Valentine (felt like a real politician; first napkin philosophy and D4C were awesome)
4. Yoshikage Kira (eerily realistic)
5. Diavolo/ Doppio(King Crimson)
6. Pillermen (Wammu, Kars, Esidisi)
7. Tooru(subject to change as I'm still reading JoJolion)

It's almost as though he's furthering Kars' research in creating the ultimate lifeform/stand. The green baby was orchestrated in such a way where it had the ability to fuse with Pucci which in turn gave him a piece of Dio as well as 36 other powerful souls. And it's safe to assume that those who've committed atrocious acts like homicide would have high potential for powerful natural occurring stands. Not the one's given on discs.
It's exactly what he was telling to Polnareff when they encounter on the mansion, that "peace of mind" that he talks about is the motivation behind his heaven plan

Dio travelled a lot in between the time that he escaped from the coffin to the events of Stardust Crusaders, and most likely gained pretty intimate knowledge of stands and how souls work in that world. But it's a mystery as to why he didn't prepare anything like this before he was killed, I suppose.

TWoH is litterally a retcon because CC2 was too scared to make a new stand.

Dio's clearly gotten this Soul/Stand stuff down to a science. He essentially reincarnated himself with the help of Pucci in a form that has way more potential development due to it being 36 powerful souls + Dio's vampiric abilities + Joestar blood.
He was always cocky but had this kind of behavior. We can see it when he manipulates Avdol and Kakyoin on their flashbacks near the start of Part 3. Plus, don't expect a 100+ year old vampire to not learn stuff and talk this way. After all he was a "gentleman" in some ways in Part 1.

Outside of my disgust toward what part 6 did to the franchise, there doesn't seem to be anything compelling about using the medium of animation here
I watch this and I watch one punch man and am blown away by the framing and sound design during Garou's fight. Like goodness gracious, this is why I watch anime. Baki vs Oliver? Animated? Im left wanting more. Its why I even gave the pickle arc a chance
Part 6 isn't really good for memes even. Part 2 & 3 were dripping with them. Part 4 had a solid premise and was visually striking. Part 5, say less its the Golden experience. The darkest, edgiest premise yet
Part 6 is completely noir. Its a snuff piece, but I suppose that Araki was compelled to make due on frills, so he made a full season of it
I dont see why they couldn't make like a 4-5 part OVA. Everything about it reads like a graphic novel. I just dont get the appeal of making an entire animated set when it ends up looking like THIS

6 is Araki being depressed and jumping the shark. It stretches that suspension of disbelief way too far with the numerology 'create new stand' nonsense and has a ton of stands that have apocalypse level DBZ like power scaling.
I don't like part 5 but I appreciate that part 5 is still good. Part 6 is a disappointing clustertruck of ideas with an incredibly liberal attempt at retconning. It's not even good by its own standards and aims as a story.
