Ken, you and CHH are my favorite physical media channels. Keep up the awesome work. (I'm one of the people that watched till the end. I bet there were more than 2 of us. 🙂)
I watch alot of physical media youtubers for news and info but yours is easily my favorite. Keep on trucking Ken and happy holidays to you and the fam.
I stumbled across your channel a few months ago and i have been a faithful follower ever since. You have become a trusted source on videos for me. Please keep up the great work!
As a collector I find it harder and harder to keep up with everything that is coming out. I appreciate your channel as you help keep me up to date. Keep doing what your doing brother.
I stopped being a "collector" long ago. When I looked at my shelves and saw multiple copies of a movie I had never watched and don't plan to watch I came to a quick realization that being a "collector" was not justified considering how quickly the spending adds up.
Ken, I watch you more than anyone else related to physical media, And let me tell you that most of us can tell that you are sincere about your passion for collecting. I love your channel and I do wish you would give a grade or grades for each review at the end of each review, but that being said, overall I think you do a great job of doing your reviews, and don't worry about these wannabe reviewers, who are jealous of your success, when they will never have the subscribers that you have. However, MidLevelMedia, CHH, MovieGuy365, Boutique Blu-rays, In Search Of Physical Media, Cerial At Midnight, and The 4K KINGS, I consider the BEST of the Review Channels, so ignore The Jealous Haters out there, and Keep Doing What You Do...
Well, I’m happy I’m one of the two people that watched the whole video lol. I never post comments, but I’ve been following you for a while now. You are by far the best physical media channel I’ve ever come across, and this sounds like nothing more than jealousy. People just want free stuff, and they get pissed when people actually put the hard work in and make it look easy. Not discrediting the other channel at all. I don’t follow his channel. You’ve been doing this a long time though, and your channel keeps getting better! It’s one of the high points of my day when you post! Keep doing you, and keep up the hustle!
I find your videos very entertaining and informing about physical media! I have been a collector for years but I've had to start over because I've had to sell so many collections do to financial problems. I've almost talked myself out of ever collecting again but because of your videos and other channels I have found the spark again and it makes me happy to collect! Thank you for the hard work you put into your channel! I am very proud to be a subscriber! Keep it up Ken!!
I love your channel and content, Ken. And never once questioned your integrity. You bring passion, useful info and humor to your videos which are terrific. Keep up the great work and don't let any of the noise bring you down.
Don’t let anyone bring you down keep doing what you do I enjoy your videos and it’s helpful to know if an upgrade in another format is worth it and I appreciate your reviews and if you get free stuff good for you you put in the work so if you get something for free that’s cool
I've started watching your channel recently and even I admit I value your opinion over some other TH-camrs cos I see your passion... Keep it up your doing a great job
One of his friends told him to turn off all the upscalers on his devices and make his review again. When he first tested the bluray compared to the 4k, he still had his 4k upscalers on, so he wasn't seeing the true 1080p version. That's why he didn't see much of a difference. No it's not the biggest difference but the 4k version is definitely the best Demolition Man has ever looked and it a great transfer and package. Don't let other people's opinions change anything you do. There's a really BIG reason why you have more subscribers than just about any other physical media tubers, and that's because you are honest and try to let everyone know what's what. Keep the coming buddy. Love your channel.
You're my personal favorite physical media youtube channel. I watch your videos ever day. So I've seen enough videos of Yours to judge if you are beings honest or not. And to me you're a genuine person. So I wouldn't worry because you have a fan that know good and well.
I think of this channel more as a newsletter. Like any good newsletter, you get information updates, comments, opinions, and the occasional sales pitch. It’s all perfectly fine, never mind the naysayer cynicism out there, Ken.
I've watched your channel everyday for a year now, and I have bought alot of movies based on your videos, movies I would never have considered buying if it wasn't for you. Don't listen to the negitive people. I love what you do. Thank you for what you do. Thank you for helping me build my collection.
I think this video is absolutely great for transparency. I think the average viewers still think these TH-camrs buy all this stuff. It can definitely create a fomo atmosphere and make people spend what they don’t have just trying to keep up with everyone on here. I wish more TH-cam reviewers were this upfront about all of the behind the scenes stuff. Thanks Ken.
Thanks for what you do. I think you’re very sincere in what you do. If people think you’re a shill they should look back at some of your wife’s audit videos!
Ken, long time watcher! Keep up the amazing channel. Thanks for your video and being so transparent. Ignore the haters.... I subscribe to about 10 physical media channels and yours is by far my favorite. Thanks for all you do!
I'm a pretty good at judge of character and the reason why I started supporting your channel is you seem like a genuine person. I like your content, it's informative and top quality. I completely disagree that you're some sort of media salesman. You have a passion and you're sharing it, it sucks you have these false reactions coming through like this. I appreciate your channel and will continue to support it.
You’re a great source of information. I find your videos extremely helpful. With physical media being so expensive I need to plan my purchases wisely. Keep up the great work. I absolutely appreciate your videos. Thank you.
You're doing fine Ken. Some people react way to much to a video before seeing the other's perspective. It's been happening for as long as there has been opposing opinions. I'm very grateful for the work that you and others do, like Planet CHH. I'm glad you guys are friends and you both do great work
You're my go to out of a handful of guys that do these types of videos. I appreciate the information you share, particularly on sales and reviews of 4k transfers. It could be viewed as a salesman, but I feel you're giving good info out there to keep physical media going, bringing awareness of new releases. Don't listen to idiots on the internet.
I'm a good judge of character and I subscribed because you seem genuine. Your enthusiasm for some 4ks and blu rays have got me blind buying a few and I've found a lot of films I'd never of heard of thanks to your channel and enjoyed a good 90% of them. Totally support the channel, and keep up the good work.
It’s just semantics. Even if the transfer wasn’t a night and day difference there’s still a ton of new extras. A booklet with writings from critics, new commentaries, etc. So end of day it’s still an upgrade over the Blu-ray
Keep up the great work Ken, have enjoyed your review for years!! And the slamming of Disney when they decided to pull out of physical media market in Australia is yet another example of your honesty on this channel! Really value your work and news updates.
Of all the physical media channels I’ve followed over the years, your’s is the only one I’ve stuck with. You are clearly passionate about movies and love to collect them. I gave up on one channel because of his self righteous attitude and would bash you if you disagreed. Some of the stuff they talked about had nothing to do with physical media and would rip you apart if you called him out on it. Sure you have your opinions but you almost never make someone feel bad for having a different opinion (except where The Core is concerned 😆, I do love that movie). Keep up the great work!
Dude, this was a rad video! Really glad you made it. You basically said everything I was thinking, plus I also learned a few things. But I'm very sympathetic to what you were conveying, because some people really do have a very warped perception of what motivates those of us who have channels... and what being a physical media content creator is actually all about for us. I've even had a couple people accuse ME of being a shill for Disney before, because I gave the Cameron 4Ks a favorable review LMAO!!🤣 And I'm just a small channel that very few people have heard of, relatively-speaking. Anyway, yeah it's totally accurate to say that sometimes people make a lot of false assumptions without having all the information. I think we as humans at times have a tendency to jump on others a little too quickly without really taking the time to rationally evaluate the veracity of the claims others are making. Ignore the haters and just keep up the great work you're doing Ken! You're a good man with integrity.
Well said fuzz, the whole concept of hearing your favourite youtuber criticise somebody, then jumping over to that channel to leave disparaging comments without even evaluating the content themselves, is a very concerning trend. Anybody who actually follows Ken knows he's genuine, and follow him for that reason. Not all channels can say the same...
Hi Ken just started watching this video and had to comment. NO you're not a salesman for physical media, you're a fan and you share your love of films with us. I love seeing the news of releases that you bring us. Living in England we don't get some of the steelbook editions that are available in the USA so it's good to see what's available. I certainly don't feel that you're promoting or pushing certain films over others, you're just responding with your honest opinion. Some of the same films will look different on other people's different set-ups. Don't change Ken, if people don't like how you present then they don't have to watch. You're a good honest person Ken, I enjoy watching your videos, keep up the good work. Have a lovely Christmas and New Year and stay safe.
I watch your channel to get info on what's being released in the months ahead . There are plenty of channels that do the same thing .... but .... it's your delivery and personality which keep me watching . I can make my own mind up whether to purchase or not . Just keep on being yourself . 😉
The issue is the paid sponsorship should be included in all videos that you receive a item that must be shown in the video to fulfill the agreement of a review.
@DonOmegaMedia When a video on TH-cam contains paid sponsorships, TH-cam automatically displays a 10-second disclosure message at the beginning of the video. The message informs viewers that the video contains paid promotions and links to a page that educates users on paid sponsorships, endorsements, and product placements. TH-camrs must also disclose sponsorships in three ways: In the video's description, Superimposed over the video, and Verbally in the video. At minimum this would be considered a product placement and or endorsement. Pay for play is not new but in today's world you have to make it known for disclosure sake.
Ken you’re doing a good job man never question your honesty and you def have the ability to be someone we can trust and I definitely laugh because I say the same stuff you do when reviewing so keep up the great work!!!
This is probably my first comment on your channel. I enjoy your content and I am impressed with the amount of content you put out every week. That being said, I am quite perturbed by the “ last movie standing”. It is in poor taste in my opinion to mention someone else’s channel in a negative light. You are being far kinder than I would have been. If a person thinks such things there are far more tactful ways of generically stating it. I think you have done far too much explaining to the point of almost apologizing. I can understand from your perspective feeling the need to explain some things to your general followers. I would say that the guy from “that” other channel needs to make his own video explaining himself and apologizing! Well that’s my 2 cents! I appreciate you Ken and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!🎄
Yes, most of these “collector reviewers” are literal salesmen, and I find it strange that so many people watching them don't get it. There is money to be made in promoting products to the masses online, and that's why they do these videos in the first place. It's just a side hustle for them but a strategy for the companies, and you’ve all helped increase the prices of Blu-rays and 4Ks by allowing companies to sell you overpriced discs because you were told by some guy on TH-cam it’s worth it. It only works if these “reviewers” promote these products to you and you spend way more than you should, which you all happily do without hesitation.
you've done a great job with your review channel. i'm not sure what anyone could be upset about. congrats to another great year on youtube ken. merry xmas
Hi Ken. I watched the whole 36 minutes 50 seconds video, and I really appreciate your openness and authenticity. Please continue doing what you love. Remember that the bests always receive criticism from the jealous ones.
You're channel rocks, you're no shill, and if you were I think the masses would be able to figure that out. You provide info that is helpful and also let us know when stuff seems to be god awful as well. If you love a movie it's gonna come across, I don't think it's easy to pick apart a movie you really love. Free is never really free, as you said, you do a bunch of stuff to promote, good or bad, the stuff you get for "free". Keep doing the awesome job you do and I for one will be watching!!! I would be a bit pissed too if someone put my rep into question.
Very good you took a stand at this. No all the equipments show the same content, every system yields different results all time. Sometimes a technology is or seems to be better than others, even a previous iteration. The point is we, all of us don't have the original 35mm, 70mm or the didital master including the original screen we previously viewed the film in just to compare to the home release. At the end of the day is what our own system tells us if it looks and sound good, great or bad. What's the point to watch a frame by frame because we are not generating copies to sell, we are watching a movie only to enjoy the time out of it. I've been collecting since the VHS era until today's 4K, being always a hobby. Thanks Ken for your time and help.
You're going to get stuff like this on the road to a million subscribers. Slipcover Steve will be dropping a video about you soon, my guy. It's inevitable. Slipcover Steve is my financial and spiritual advisor. 😂
People are going to believe what they hear, even if it's out of context sometimes. Keep staying true to who you are, that's why I like your videos. Us physical media collectors need to stick together in such dire times!
Great video, Ken. Goes without saying, there's no need to explain how you review videos, how you get them personally or through a label, or to even be so transparent. For me, I don't have the DM bluray movie, Brian's video seemed beneficial for me. I do think any time you mention another creator in what is perceived a negative way good or bad both sides will get some backlash. I believe Brian's video wasn't Ill intent (which you mentioned), and I know you're honest in your review videos. As a viewer, I appreciate you making the video. As a fellow content creator, I appreciate you making the video, but as a friend, I do have to say, I hope to God I never see you with just a mustache again... MY EYES! 🔥👀🔥
I've been watching all your videos and i like your style and what you say about the movies. I trust your opinion. Don't pay attention too much, you will always face some criticism. I live in France, where we love pshysical media too, and you're one of my favourite source to know what's going on in USA and help me to know if i want to buy or not. I love America where i spend a few weeks each and every year. Merry Christmas to everybody !
I don't know, when the exorcist 3 dropped you went on a rant telling people to buy that release and saying it's way scarier and better than the original......
I know you're being paid millions from the studios and the nWo to push those 20 year old DVDs and that Texas ChainSaw!!. I'm onto you and I'm going to expose it all! Hashtag BluTuberGate!!! REEEEEEEEE!!
Mate, no need to explain anything. Your channel is great and informative and not biased towards anyone or anything. These people just jealous. I’ve got the Demolition Man you reviewed and running on G4 via Panny 820 and it craps all over the blu ray.Keep up the good work and have a great Xmas.
Haters gonna hate. Try not to let it get under your skin. I appreciate your vids. It’s always nice getting the news on what’s coming out. Thanks for what you do 🤙🏼
as someone who bought the 4k with his own money, the 4k of demolition man is reference quality, to me its amazing looking. though i only have the DVD, not the bluray, so an easy upgrade for me. and im not really a special features guy, if i could get a copy cheaper without all the extra crap, i would; so those dont affect my rating of a 4k disc. I sometimes wonder if its the TV and or player being used? for instance, Heat on 4k is supposed to look amazing on OLED, but meh on LED. I also check around on reviews, not just youtube, but good ole website reviews as well. Keep up the good work!
I guess thats the concern. If its not for free, and its an exchange of your time and promotion, there is already an incentive to give it a more positive review. And i think thats what he was getting at
That's a legitimate concern. Frankly I prefer reviews from people who paid for the item with their own funds. It shows that they had genuine interest in the product to begin with (not just sent to them and used for "content") and with no relationship in place with the company there is no temptation to handle anything with kid gloves or smooth over/downplay issues with the product.
@@Tidbitkid I would also be ok with that, it would only take a second but seems like a good idea to just put everything on the table before the review starts. I'll check out Lon haven't heard of it before.
The genuine people know you are just an avid passionate collector. You are THE go to man for media announcements. Integral to film community. Don't matter if you aren't super well versed on all the classics. U know enough.
As soon as it stopped being a self funded hobby and started being a for profit business you became a salesman. You are one of several TH-camr's who have recently seemed to have a crisis of conscious and just managed to realize this. It's fine being a salesman but don't pretend that you aren't. The moment you started getting paid (in money or perks) you stopped being one of us and started being one of them. Please dont respond with "I dont get paid" and pretend that getting thousands of dollars of collectible items isnt being paid. Just admit ehat you are snd move on.
Exactly. I'm a salesman for a living. No shame. If i could make my salary selling home video that I loved I would be incredibly humble, grateful and proud! ❤
You are the only physical media channel and follow and watch. It has nothing to do with "selling" anything. You're just the best and most personable and geniune person doing this imo. I respect what you do and I look forward to your videos every day. The fact that you get free copies of movies from companies is a bonus for you for your hard work.
Ken, I like both you and LMS in the circle. And I don’t think either of you are being malicious or intentionally trying to stir up drama over this. I wish more people would understand you can get different viewpoints and takes on these things and not make it about picking the reviewer you like and going after all the ones you don’t agree with all the time.
I just got that Demolition Man 4K boxset Ken. Nice selling Opps my bad!!! You help me make a more inform decision Ken. I pick and choose what I want. You are my number #1 go to in reviews on new and catalog titles. There was a time where the DVD looked as good to Blu-ray or better. Your LG OLED is you witness to 4K disc looking better over the Blu-ray disc. That other guy must have the cheapest TV on planet Earth. Respond back with " What you talking bout Willis"😆 You are too good of a guy to let dipshit on the other channel to bother you.
I come to your channel for information. I view your channel as an information hub of physical media. Not a salesman. Thanks for your hardwork and all that you put into the channel
Also I think it's a perfectly fair practice to put links to preorder stuff you're sharing in a video. Yeah can I google it and order it that way, sure. But personally I'm happy to use links and hopefully give a little back to the person that shared the announcement
Hi Ken. I started watching your channel from around the time The Abyss, True Lies and Aliens came out on 4K, that's also the time I started watching Last Movie Standing, AVA Pop Culture and several other physical media channels. I use to watch only Films At Home. From my side I like Brian and Chase's content, because I love their perspective as filmmakers, especially how chase explained why True Lies and the other two Cameron movies possibly looks the way it does on 4K. However, that doesn't discredit you, as your perspective comes from a different angle. You provide viewers the perspective from an average movie lover's POV (hopefully I don't offend you) and there is enough room on this platform for both views to exist and both be appreciated by the same viewers. I don't feel you needed to defend you review, but I loved how you did it and disclosed some behind the scenes stuff that I've personally been curious about, as I would personally love to start creating content similar to yours' from a movie lover's POV out here in South Africa, but I digress. I love your content, keep up the good and honest reviews.
Don't sweat it man. I just crossed 19k subs and for some reason, it seems like just when you're getting some momentum? Someone is looking to smack you down. Accusing. Calling you a shill. Gatekeeper. Whatever. When you start getting good feed of review content without having to blow $120 of your own money - or you start making a couple of bucks from YT? They want to bring you down. Do the right thing - denote what you paid for and what you got for free. Don't give them the power over you. Keep up the good work.
G'day Ken no mate your not a salesman the studios watch your YT channel and saw you have the gift of the gab and you give a great review of their films on 4k,that's why they give you review copies for free.. Merry Christmas Ken...
Great video Ken. I feel sorry that you felt the need to do so. Those of us you watch you know the reasons you have your channel. I don’t know why some people decide to make the comments they do. All the best. Merry Christmas ya filthy animal.
As someone who sees a clear difference between 4k and Blu-ray in most cases, the bias of some people against 4k makes no sense to me. The fact that not every 4k is a huge upgrade is exactly why we need people like you (to help us separate the wheat from the chaff). You just released a video a few days ago where you said the 4k of a movie was not a huge upgrade from the Blu-ray. On the other hand, when the 4k is a huge leap forward from the Blu-ray, I want to know that too! I would just chalk this up to people commenting without watching very many of your videos or the discs you are reviewing. And for what it's worth, I understand that your opinions are just your opinions, but I always appreciate your take!
Some of the reviewers I watched in the past, but no longer watch were far to fixated on resolution only, there is far more to a 4k BluRay than resolution. I'm more interested in black levels, specular highlights, contrast, color saturation, color pop, image pop, how does the HDR improve the viewing experience? I really don't care if the resolution is only a slightly better, I want to know if the overall viewing experience is better. I have watched 4k's that were worth the upgrade just to see all the details be visible in a dark scene.
@@eteocles4452 I'm buying mostly older movies (shot in 35 or 70 mm), and they all look better. And that's not even getting into the sound. Like he said, how much anyone appreciates the difference is up to the person. As someone who grew up going to the movies, I haven't regretted buying one 4k yet. I'm not a shill. I can just tell when my tv looks like a movie screen from 1982, 89, 93, 98, etc.. (but better!)
Couple of points: 1) No single reviewer of physical media has ever convinced me to buy or not buy a disc. Most discs I just buy regardless. If there is widespread agreement that a release sucks I will not buy it, example - T2 4k. 2) Equipment can 100% skew a review of the transfer quality. Watching a 1080p BluRay on a high end 4k TV played from a high end player with a really good upscaler is a very different experience to watching the same disc on a cheapo 1080p or 4k TV played from a player without upscaling. I always look to see if a reviewer has an equipment list, if they don't and make no mention of equipment during the review I take it with a huge grain of salt. For instance I know Ken has a couple year old LG Oled and uses a soundbar setup. Basically I just ignore his take on audio, it's just a different experience as opposed to my setup.
I almost entirely agree. The only slightly different take of mine is that I take literally everyone's review with a grain of salt. Equipment makes a big difference but so too does *settings, taste, and expectation/perception (as well as how a movie was filmed to begin with, what film elements were available, the condition they were in, etc). There's discs I dislike that others love and vice versa, though I agree with reviews oftentimes too. I've come to realize the importance of just buying what I want for the price I'm willing to pay so I can judge for myself - technical superiority/inferiority being pointed out, while appreciated!, is no guarantee I'll love/hate the viewing experience.
Are you paid or not Earned Influencer Marketing Earned influencer marketing, also known as organic influencer marketing, is when an influencer promotes a brand’s product or service without being compensated. This approach relies on building a relationship between the brand and the influencer. It’s when the influencer genuinely likes and uses the brand’s product or service and shares it with their followers.
I’ve always considered you as someone that informs me of what’s out there for me to buy if I so choose… you do the research and then I don’t have to… I depend on you and Planet CHH and Pizowell to let me know what’s coming!! Love all you guys!! 😁 Keep on trucking Ken!!!
Fact is creators/reviewers spend YEARS building their reputations, community and brands to the point where they are eventually get a review copy of something. 99 percent of people aren't going to throw all that away because they got one Review code!!!
Honestly, that guy's video just exudes jealously. He just seems bitter he doesn't have the community and connections you have. Keep it up Ken, love your content 🙌
Your content has a lot more to it than the reviews. When you get copies for free, we might all feel some doubt about your credibility. A lot of the time it feels like a real and honest review, but in other reviews it feels like you want to sell the 4k. In this case I feel that the Demolition Man 4k was not an amazing version, but good. The audio was a lot better, the picture wasnt a huge upgrade (my opinion). As long as you get copies for free, people will doubt you. But in all honesty, I don't think people watches your channel for reviews. They want to see you in the videos, and the person you are. In my case I like the news and collection videos. Your fans will support you in this. Honesty goes a long way 😊
Nobody can say with certainty that any TH-camr is selling out their integrity, but I've seen basically every TH-camr I follow (not just movies, but literally every subject I'm interested in) all basically go down the same "influencer" route. They all sell out, eventually, because they all want to quit their 9-5 and do TH-cam full time. They always "recommend" the most expensive version of whatever they are talking about (like praising a more expensive version of a movie that comes in a little tin can), and they only "recommend" products from websites that have the best affiliate rates.
Here's a little suggestion for you Kenny, you should put a little stamp down in the corner of every video if this was sent to you for free, or you purchased it with your own money. This way the viewers know. Physical media for life.
Hi Ken , I really enjoy your channel, you give wonderful information. You are not a salesman! I don’t talk in the chat much , but I watch all of them . You get free copies, yea good for you , you earned that perk . Keep up the great work … people don’t realize all the work that goes into having a channel and keep it growing ! ❤
I know nobody is asking my opinion, but I do have thoughts here. I won’t claim to know you on a deeply personal level, but I can say through my interactions with you on TH-cam that you’re a 100% genuine dude who does this for the love of the game. I don’t think anyone can really deny that. Last Movie Standing I don’t know as well, but his video to me had value because basically his key point is that you should do your own research and come to your own conclusions about what to upgrade and what not to upgrade. That was my takeaway, anyway. Basically, no single individual should be taking the opinion of any OTHER individual as scripture. We are all responsible for our own physical media purchases at the end of the day. We have to do what’s best for us. So even though I admire your genuine honesty and passion, I’m not gonna take what you say, positive or negative, as fact. Same with every other TH-camr I enjoy watching. That’s what we should all be doing in my opinion.
In my old job, I used to get review copies of books. I heard from a number of family members bitching about how they were spending $40 for something I got for free. I told ‘em, “Nobody said you had to go out and buy the hard cover of a title. That they could walk and I would happily pass the book along, which I often did. I never felt I had to write a good review. If a book was OK, I’d tell ‘em to wait for the paperback. I admit that was a nice perk of the job, but it wasn’t without its flaws-one of them being the time it took to read a whole book. It doesn’t take nearly as long to watch a movie. I’m not going to be making any comments about you getting review copies of films cause I know what it takes to do the job you’re doing, even if mine was reading a book and writing up a review. So continue what you’re doing and just ignore the haters; they’re mostly just jealous anyway!
I think the LMS channel's bigger point was that there isnt a need to put down a previous release to upsell a newer release. His screenshots did kinda show that the 4k wasn't all THAT much better than the bluray, which is a tad disappointing but I think a lot of people, including myself, picked this up due to all the cool extras and slick "chunky box".
I like your reviews. Everyone had different opinions of the movies. We all see things differently when watching Blu-Ray to 4K movies. I think maybe some people take reviewers too seriously sometimes. I don’t think you force people to buy the movies you get for free. At the end of the day it’s up to them purchase the movies or not. Keep doing what you’re doing I enjoy your channel. And Thank you 🙏🏿 😊
I like Brian at Last Movie standing, and Ken, your channel is great too and appreciate your transparency in this video. Both you make good points. I think as collectors and fans of film, we can over-sell each other on different movies or their releases. We get excited like that and that passion can be misconstrued into a sales pitch. No harm no foul Ken. You seem like a good dude. Brian at last movie standing makes some good points. Like you said Ken and Brian said. Its very subjective based on one's equipment and in the end it really is to each their own. The reality is not every 4k release is far and away better than their Blu Ray counterpart and Brian was being honest about that and if you are on a budget to take that into consideration. I have some blu rays that came from a 4k scan and those look fantastic and almost no difference especially if its on a higher capacity disc. One of my favorite discs is a 2019 Blu Ray release from second sight. It's Disneys Flight of the Navigator. It looks incredible and it was from a 4k scan and has never had a 4k release cause you know...Disney 😆 That very well migt be the best we get for that film. Not to mention I may never need a so called 4k better copy. I watch on an OLED and the upscale is great on those kinda blu rays. I don't think Brian was trying to take a shot at anyone but reminding everyone out there to not always believe the hype. As collectors it doesn't hurt to be a little more honest with ourselves when it comes to what we purchase. Thumbs up Ken and thumbs up Brian! You both do a fine job. Any of you ass hats out there in the comments trying pick sides and drive wedges in the community need to get a life!
People complaining about you getting copies from the studios are just jealous. The free copies come because of your numbers. Studios just want to know that buyers know that the movies are out there. There are no more standees at Best Buy. First and foremost, for me, is this a movie I want. The “quality” is subjective. Yes I bought T2, I love the movie, would I have completely scrubbed the grain, no, but it’s not my decision, I still think it looks great. I am glad you are getting titles, that helps to drive your content. I appreciate knowing what is coming. You know the old saying about opinions (everyone has one). Keep up the good work, don’t let the hater’s get you down.
All the guy on Last Movie Standing did was mention his gripes but he also gave props to the channels he mentioned to keep things civil. His main concern was mentioning that the Blu Ray isn’t nearly as bad as some people were saying. He didn’t come off as bashing anyone, but he questioned how honest other people are being by praising the 4K and putting the Blu Ray version down. At the end of the day it’s all personal opinions anyway. On a rare occasion I’ve made a purchase from a suggestion from someone on TH-cam, but most of the time I’m making my purchases based off of what I want to own in my own collection.
Yes, but he also did say that Ken's job is to sale the 4k. Which is what Ken is defending here, and I believe it is very necessary that he did. If he didn't defend it, then more people would just believe it.
@ he mentioned that about Christian too though, And he wasn’t entirely wrong. So people believing it isn’t wrong either. It’s part of what these guys do, but ultimately it’s up to the people watching on how they spend their $$.
Ken, you and CHH are my favorite physical media channels. Keep up the awesome work. (I'm one of the people that watched till the end. I bet there were more than 2 of us. 🙂)
@@WorldMoneyWins thank you friend!
People take this stuff entirely too seriously.
Hello other person lol.
@ hello! Im so glad I have met my other half 😂
@@brandtleymcdonald5406 we are out here lol.
Thanks Ken.
Don't let the bastards get you down
I come to your channel because of the passion you share with the world in a hobby we both love
Thanks for what you do. I think you’re very sincere in what you do.
If people think you’re a shill they should look back at some of your wife’s audit videos!
@@kenlauver2570 Thank you! And yes, if anyone wants to question my ability to be transparent, go check out the 20 episodes of that I did. 😂
Thank you.
I appreciate all that you do here. Thank you, Kem. Keep up the good work and happy holidays to you annd yours!
You're doing fine Ken. Some people react way to much to a video before seeing the other's perspective. It's been happening for as long as there has been opposing opinions. I'm very grateful for the work that you and others do, like Planet CHH. I'm glad you guys are friends and you both do great work
Dude I love that you and other channels talk about the new movies out. I can’t afford to buy new movies but I love seeing what’s out
You're my go to out of a handful of guys that do these types of videos.
Don’t mind the haters. It’s extremely obvious you’re authentic in what you do and people don’t realize how much work this stuff is. It’s not “free”
@@celestedelacabra Thank you Celeste. That means a lot.
You’re the best channel to do this stuff in my opinion, your passion and appreciation for movies comes out every video, don’t change man!
The issue is the paid sponsorship should be included in all videos that you receive a item that must be shown in the video to fulfill the agreement of a review.
But it's not a paid sponsorship, dum-dum.
@@Tidbitkid You are confused and misinformed. 😘
Ken you’re doing a good job man never question your honesty and you def have the ability to be someone we can trust and I definitely laugh because I say the same stuff you do when reviewing so keep up the great work!!!
The rest of us normal people who understand life, are thankful that you are here doing what you do. Silent/quiet majority 💪.
It only works if these “reviewers” promote these products to you and you spend way more than you should, which you all happily do without hesitation.
you've done a great job with your review channel. i'm not sure what anyone could be upset about. congrats to another great year on youtube ken. merry xmas
I don’t trust any middle aged man who doesn’t know which way to put on a cap.🤷♂️. I enjoy your channel bud, keep it up.

Love your content Ken. Keep doing your thing brother!
And i think thats what he was getting at
He said Ken is literally paid to sell copies, absolute BS.
@@GamezGuru1 they are eliminating the barrier to enter or watch in this case which is for the most part the whole barrier of physical media the cost.
@@444chroma I'm okay with it if they have a transparency statement before each review. I really like how Lon.TV does his tech reviews.
100% agree with this. Just offering my point of view and perspective.
We love and appreciate all you do, Ken. Screw the haters!
MidlevelMedia - My hub for everything physical media and entertainment. Enough said.
Congrats on 19k
@@ESPINOZA316 Thanks so much ... been a long drive. :)
Watching since 2021. Your the best
Man you just nail it. Exactly as I was to say. Thanks for stepping in.🎉

Earned influencer marketing, also known as organic influencer marketing, is when an influencer promotes a brand’s product or service without being compensated. This approach relies on building a relationship between the brand and the influencer. It’s when the influencer genuinely likes and uses the brand’s product or service and shares it with their followers.

They always "recommend" the most expensive version of whatever they are talking about (like praising a more expensive version of a movie that comes in a little tin can), and they only "recommend" products from websites that have the best affiliate rates.
you're an information source. "salesman" never crossed my mind.
Ken we value your opinion because at the end of the day its the opinion's that count. We appreciate your content and value the time you put in.
I love your takes and thoughts. You help me decide on new movies to watch and what to upgrade from the blu ray. Stay the course and keep on trucking!
I appreciate your integrity and your transparency. Keep doing what you do Ken. Thanks.
@@DeanRenner I understand that and even stated that in the video. I enjoy and support his channel and will continue to do so.
