    Drinking through the straw,
    is also preventive due to physiology of swallowing, and thus lessens teeth exposure to acid damage, is always worth mentioning.

      Yes fluroide is bad if you eat too much of it (which goes for literally everything of course), but that's why all toothpastes say to spit them out after brushing your teeth.
      It's also why putting fluride in tap water is a weird thing to do. But that's not so normal now.

    brushing is snot the problem - brushing right after eating acid is problem. btw, you don't really need toothpaste. what is a must for perfect mouth health is: 1. good toothbrush 2. learning how to brush correctly 3. dental floss 4. oral irrigator . all of these at least 2 times a day. done. oil pulling - optional. making your own toothpaste - optional.

      Eat only whole food plant based diet, oregano oil and other things like that apparently can help, but first and foremost don't do any antibiotics (and preferably any pharmaceuticals). Check out your toxic metals and mineral deficiencies/toxicities through hair mineral analysis and fix those first and foremost. Movement. Clean water, not chlorinated/fluoridated/etc.

      Slap Stick I've been rinsing with baking soda and brushing with it later on for years. I just keep a small dish by my bathroom sink. It's super easy and convenient... just take a pinch in a glass, run in tap water(which dissolves it), swish. In the past I've made a tooth powder of coconut oil, xylitol, baking soda for brushing. Baking soda is far less abrasive than commercial toothpastes which use anhydrous silica to polish. Here's a reference: www.sheltondentistry.com/patient-information/toothpaste-abrasivity/

    Would it be wise to rinse your mouth out with water and a little baking soda after eating? Surely that would neutralize the acidity and minimize enamel erosion?

    • @Massimo-sn7xd
      @Massimo-sn7xd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd just rinse with water. These fluctuations might not be beneficial. The whole microbiome in our mouth is dependant on one environment, when we play like that with the ph levels - probably isn't preferable for that microbiome.
      In my opinion.
      And apparently, human body isn't adapted to eating citrus fruits, because if it was, eating citrus fruits would not cause teeth erosion. I think that's a sign we should tend to stick to non citrus fruits (even though I like them, and eat them, and not sure if I'll stop eating them (although I'll try to eat them with a straw and/or rinse my mouth after))

    Sugar, whether it comes from fruits or vegetables, is the same because what we commonly understand by sugar is glucose. All glucose metabolizes the same. Fructose is different, but when it comes to feeding the bacteria that produce tooth decay, it makes little to no difference. What makes food stick to teeth has little to do on whether it contains fructose or glucose and more to do with the other ingredients that constitute the food.

    This is ridiculous. Most people in Western society either (1) don't eat any fruit at all or (2) eat very little fruit (the odd banana or couple of grapes now and again). So how come most people have regular trips to the dentist? Do you think all those people in the dentist are fruitarians? Get real! Also, I know from personal experience that I got far less fillings after going vegan (with high fruit) than I did as a meat-eater on low fruit. flawed studies I guess!

      same here.This vegan shit is destroying my teeth.the difference in my teeth before being vegan and after is huge(1 year and half).
      You can actually see the dentin in some of my teeth like the contrast.All the raw vegans I know have rotten teeth much more than people who drink soda 24/7.
      I've seen some claims on the internet of people who got rid of their cavities naturally but nothing about the enamel.I guess vitamin D plus calcium intake would deff help.You can also try "comfrey root" wich is the plant many claim have repaired their teeth of bone fractures.Oh and dont floss!!its terrible for your gums.

    this video fails to say important things. Big majority of people (unless they are fruitarians) will drink fruit juice with a meal, so you have two factors there detrimental for the teeth, one is that people drink juice washing the whole mouth with it, second the acids of the juice is masticated with the food while chewing, increasing tooth wear by mechanical erosion plus the acid of the fruit juice (or sodas). Fruitarians on the other hand, usually only drink fruit juice on its own and as a meal. Fruit juice is not necessarily the problem, is what you do when drinking it.

    But not fruit from sugar. The high water content in fruit allows most the sugar to wash off the surface of the teeth. It does not stick to the teeth the way sugar from a chocolate bar or cake does. Improper cleaning also adds to the problem for sure, especially if you are eating the sticking sweets, fat-filled bars and cakes.

    MY experience. Oh I see, you are using the old "we are all so different argument". Last time I looked I am a human being who has the same kind of digestive tract and teeth as every other human being. I would trust my own human experience any day over all these "fruit is bad for you" THEORIES written by ignorant people who do not understand the concept of species-related diet.

    Weston A Price=not a quack, but a well-meaning amateur anthropologist.
    The Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation=quacks. Or snake-oil sales men.
    There, FIFY :)

    good to floss after eating though

    • @zeekf.3839
      @zeekf.3839 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +fla gkdsa The reason for the not brushing is the abrasive interaction, so flossing wouldn't be the best for the first 15minutes at least, especially if you aren't a pro at it and you scrape your teeth.
