That is a dumb question, how does an University find out what ideology the applicant holds? I am not sure if it can ask it because it is NOT politically correct! My opinion is simply accepting the best academically.
Colleges can't always determine this information, but if they can determine this information, it's usually most obvious through the student's choice of extracurricular activities, what the student chooses to write about in his or her application essays, or if the student has an online presence, through his or her public online profiles. Sometimes, assumptions are made through letters of recommendation, the school a student currently attends, or even the parents' professions, etc. Good luck.
