My dad used to play that organ MANY years ago in Kensington and I often sat in the bench next to him during the service. Thank you so much for saving it. Brought back a lot of memories seeing it and hearing it
Hi Billy. As a professional organist, I am incredibly grateful to you for rescuing this organ. The case looks to be very nice, and it is wonderful to have a case for the instrument. I have a pipe organ in my home. It was gifted to me, but the cost of installing it was about $10,000 about ten years ago. I'm sure it would be much more today. I hope that people will heed your comment, and help these instruments find homes. Chateau Chapels need to have instruments like this. All of your family and friends do such a terrific job, and we all love you for the videos you bring us. Take care. Please give my best wishes to everyone.
My dad (an organist) also had an organ installed in his retirement home. I spent some time building them and know what a pain they are, so I'm all set! ;-)
The Pethericks are absolute legends for saving, not just the buildings, and the original features, but history from other buildings. Like the organs, bank/bar, the 🔔, and the library, and what is not used in the convent, goes to other works, so nothing is just lost. 🍻
Billy, You are a "tough guy" on the outside, but you are a "teddy bear" on the inside! You have the biggest heart for helping others, saving history, and truly caring about making things right so you can pass everything on to the next generations to use and enjoy, and appreciate. I (and so many others) appreciate you!
Billy, It's really wonderful that you were able to take up the cause to help save yet another organ. It's such a shame that communities can't provide accommodations for these historical pieces in the local historical museums where they are. It is troubling that people are so willing to allow history to just disappear as if it doesn't matter.
@@lat1419 that's so unfortunate. 😢 What does that say about our society? It's a terrible example to set for our youth that we don't value that which came before us. I'm so grateful for the Pethericks setting a better example. Such a lovely family! 💕

I too as many others are wondering what has happened to Ryan 🤔 Wonderful for the new rescue with the organ as the truck came through the gates and was backing up when the chapel bells were ringing. It spoke to me as though it was saying welcome home. Brought tears to my eyes❤
Obviously the new organ should be reassembled and given to Stephanie at La Lande in her beautifully restored chapel and played by Micheal at her wedding ❤
What an awesome addition to the renovations at the convent. And Billy , what a wonderful vision you have for the future use of that wonderful building being saved and used in ways that the entire county will appreciate 😊
This was posted in a group today on fb. A little about the man who built the new organ. An organ built by Frederick Rothwell (1853-1944) and destined for landfill has been saved by the Petherick family for safe keeping and arrived for storage today at their renovation project of a historic former convent in France today. Frederick Rothwell b 1853 was born in Middleton, Lancashire [1911 census] and was the son of Abraham Rothwell [organ builder] and wife, Mary Ann [Wood]. Abraham was also born in Middleton, Lancashire. Frederick had 3 sons, George, Frederick [jr] and Dudley, all working in the business in 1911. Lovely find, Dan. New family to me.
So excited for the new organ! Thank you Billy for all you do for historic preservation!! I cannot comprehend how so many people today want to trash anything “old” in favor of homogenization where everything looks the same and lacks all personality.
I adore wind organs! There are a handful of people trying to save the ones left here in the US.... I actually live near a Palace Era movie theater that had AND restored their Mighty Wurlitzer organ and in the main theater on Friday & Saturday nights before the movie's starts the organ rises up and the incredibly talented organist starts to play...and you are Surounded by the sound of the organ(the pipes & bellows are throughout the main theater so in was like early surround sound!!! It's truly fantastic!!!❤
It’s so nice to be a in a community of people who watch this channel and other chateau channels, who tend to have a love of history and a respect for the treasures that the world decides is too old and obsolete to keep and therefore should be condemned to the landfill. Love how you helped to save this beautiful pipe organ. ❤
The video title worked - I was certain it would be an organ yesterday, but the title made me think, "but what if it's not an organ?" 😂 Really is beautiful, and a special connection to Windsor Castle as well.
Billy,Mic,Yanis,Simon, and Rick super heroes. It’s wonderful Billy you are able to help store the organ. Choirs of Angels are able to continue their heavenly singing. Thank you on behalf of the organ and public. Simon and Yanis are doing a fantastic job with the Sheetrock. Well my loves, until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🌹🌞😇🕊🇺🇸❤️🙏🌈👍
I love the idea of the new organ being assembled and placed at the opposite end of the Chapel. These grand instruments need to be in Chapels for which they were created and their music can continue to resonate throughout the vastness of what will be again, a magical/spiritual area. Music from the Chapel combined with relaxing with a few drinks at Chez Yanis, what more could you one want!
Wow, an organ and it is as big as, if not bigger, than the one you have already in the chapel room. This one is going to be just as amazing as the one you have too. Don't know where it is going but it is beautiful. Have a great day
May this connect with your Music is Life comment: Did you hear the beat of Rick's knocking down the closet wall? I found myself being transported, thinking what other instrument will be joining in next? Yes I totally agree Music = Life. Thx you.
He did have a love interest there a year or two ago, but as stated, we will have to wait and see, Simon remarked Ryan was busy a week or two ago on this channel!?!
Hey Billy... seeing Yanis sweeping reminded me about the cordless/auto workshop vacs that are around... with such large construction area to sweep up over and over again one of those may be extremely useful! They just auto vac constantly around their defined areas... and could also be used in the areas you're not working in yet to help keep the dust under control... would be great as the final step after the demo work as well... Just a thought!
It would be amazing to have two organs in the chapel for dualing organ nights! Imagine the amazing sounds from two at the same time. Your place would be packed to enjoy it.
I just found this channel the other day and I am absolutely hooked. I have gone all the way back to the beginning and started watching all of the videos from 2 years ago. I am binge watching them all day while I am working. This is all amazing. I am so jealous you get to own a building like this and work on it and explore it.
