However, for someone who has been a Raider fan since 2004, Carr was by far the best QB we had for the last 2 decades. For most of Carr’s career, he had a trash defense. Most playoff teams have top 15 defenses, so for the Raiders offense to be top 10 for the majority of his span, Carr made the playoffs in spite of their bad defense, where most QBs would have not even made the playoffs. Carr carried a trash team for years. When we got Jimmy G, I already knew we were going to be worst, especially with McDaniels as coach. If it weren’t for Antonio Pierce, we would have been bottom of the division. So some Raider fans forgot what those Years were like before Carr, how difficult it was to find a good QB, and they took Carr for granted. Carr may have not been Brady or Aaron Rogers, but some of yall talked about him like he was holding the Raiders back. The Raiders wasted an opportunity with Carr, having 3 regime changes and 5 coaching changes in his time, and none of those regimes could give him an average defense. There was no stability in that organization.

Think Wilson is the best option at this point. If the defense continues its upward trajectory, then we need a QB that can lead our offense to averaging 23+ points per game. Russ can do that. And at 1.5-2 million he's a steal. That leaves plenty of cap space to sign Elluminore, James, and Jacobs. Raiders will still have plenty of cap space to pursue Chris Jones. Draft an offensive guard in the first round. Rounds 2-3 we can get Linebacker, a QB, or an CB. Raiders have 6 picks between 4-7. Pick DB'S, Linebackers, and OL. This current roster has 2-4 years to win a championship. Why? In 4 years, Maxx will be in his 9th season. His knee injury will slow Maxx down sooner than later. Adams probably has 2 more elite years. We need players who can win now.

Well laid out argument, Wi-Fi, for going out and getting Russell Wilson. Reminds this old school Raider of the Al Davis years, where he would go out and get retreads that would work wonderfully in Oakland. My problem with Wilson is that he seems to be a personal brand/positive manifestation guy first over a team player, who does not have the ability to get along with others and unify the team around him along the lines of a Kenny “The Snake” Stabler. He is not a “Bad-ass” either, which is what Old Time Raiders fans like me become sentimental about. In fact, he comes off as being a clean living/Boy Scout type, which makes it hard to imagine him smoking cigars with the rest of the team after a victory or throwing down in the midst of a game for the purpose of intimidating one’s opponent. Yeah, if Wilson takes a Team friendly deal due to the Broncos already being on the hook to pay him, it would be extremely hard to turn that down. Still, I worry that he will be too much of a distraction while pursuing his own brand and interests over the best interests of the team. It has also become clear that he can’t see the middle of the field anymore, though he can still scrabble and throw the long ball. Personally, I think this guy has too much baggage and not the kind that us Raiders fans relish such as him being a head case that can play lights out when needed. I sort of see Josh McDaniels style entitlement issues here, and a guy who some think is more worried about his career statistics than anything else. If we land Wilson, I hope you are right that this all turns out to be nothing but upside for the Raiders, but I am a little wary about this being a good idea. On the other hand, I have no idea what kind of realistic alternatives exist for the Raiders in terms of a quality QB that likely end up being too expensive such as trading up to get one of the rookies in the draft or trading with Chicago for Justin Fields. It seems to me that Baker Mayfield would be a better fit, but at what cost?
"Marginally better" might actually get us to 10 wins. Playoff-esque type numbers. I'm not a massive RW3 fan but for league minimum? Hell yes. Go draft Joe Alt & then go defense till round 7 and pick up Sam Hartman. ;)

Think Wilson is the best option at this point. If the defense continues its upward trajectory, then we need a QB that can lead our offense to averaging 23+ points per game. Russ can do that. And at 1.5-2 million he's a steal. That leaves plenty of cap space to sign Elluminore, James, and Jacobs. Raiders will still have plenty of cap space to pursue Chris Jones. Draft an offensive guard in the first round. Rounds 2-3 we can get Linebacker, a QB, or an CB. Raiders have 6 picks between 4-7. Pick DB'S, Linebackers, and OL. This current roster has 2-4 years to win a championship. Why? In 4 years, Maxx will be in his 9th season. His knee injury will slow Maxx down sooner than later. Adams probably has 2 more elite years. We need players who can win now.

Adding Wilson really lets the Raiders draft a DT and CB in round 1 and 2. But its not needed. The Raiders do not need a QB. But they can add one for free.... thank you Denver.
We can sign him for 1 mil and draft a qb and have aiden o'connell as back up or develop. I dont think thats far fetch or to much a bad idea. Having decent QBs isn't a bad thing kinda what the niners did trey Lance jimmy and then drafted Brock. Or sign rus and maybe use him as a trading pawn to move up in draft idk I think it's a low risk high reward situation. Plus we will save so much money to build the team doing this. Well be in like 10mil if that for 3 diffrent shots at a QB

Well laid out argument, Wi-Fi, for going out and getting Russell Wilson. Reminds this old school Raider of the Al Davis years, where he would go out and get retreads that would work wonderfully in Oakland. My problem with Wilson is that he seems to be a personal brand/positive manifestation guy first over a team player, who does not have the ability to get along with others and unify the team around him along the lines of a Kenny “The Snake” Stabler. He is not a “Bad-ass” either, which is what Old Time Raiders fans like me become sentimental about. In fact, he comes off as being a clean living/Boy Scout type, which makes it hard to imagine him smoking cigars with the rest of the team after a victory or throwing down in the midst of a game for the purpose of intimidating one’s opponent.
Yeah, if Wilson takes a Team friendly deal due to the Broncos already being on the hook to pay him, it would be extremely hard to turn that down. Still, I worry that he will be too much of a distraction while pursuing his own brand and interests over the best interests of the team. It has also become clear that he can’t see the middle of the field anymore, though he can still scrabble and throw the long ball. Personally, I think this guy has too much baggage and not the kind that us Raiders fans relish such as him being a head case that can play lights out when needed. I sort of see Josh McDaniels style entitlement issues here, and a guy who some think is more worried about his career statistics than anything else.
If we land Wilson, I hope you are right that this all turns out to be nothing but upside for the Raiders, but I am a little wary about this being a good idea. On the other hand, I have no idea what kind of realistic alternatives exist for the Raiders in terms of a quality QB that likely end up being too expensive such as trading up to get one of the rookies in the draft or trading with Chicago for Justin Fields. It seems to me that Baker Mayfield would be a better fit, but at what cost?
"Marginally better" might actually get us to 10 wins. Playoff-esque type numbers. I'm not a massive RW3 fan but for league minimum? Hell yes. Go draft Joe Alt & then go defense till round 7 and pick up Sam Hartman. ;)
