Thanks for covering this topic, Laura. The struggle is absolutely real, and I love that The Mom Edit has contributors of all ages and body shapes to address real fashion topics for real women. Keep up the great work! ❤

Thanks so much, Jill! I'm so glad the work is proving helpful. And glad the conversations are shifting at least. It's tough dealing with this but glad we can chat about it together!

It’s like you read my mind and had a clear view into my current jeans dilemma. I’m going through the exact same struggle. At 53, my body is changing. I now have the menopause padding around my midsection that I never had before and my size 29 jeans aren’t fitting me the same way anymore. I’m also short waisted and totally over the high waisted thing. There are so many different styles of jeans now too that are throwing me for a loop. It was so nice to see someone going through this exact same thing. Thank you for sharing.

You’ve helped me so much with my personal style as a 40 year old momma! I bought the Rag and Bone ones when I saw them on you on Instagram 😊 I’m hoping they’re a keep! Thanks so much for your awesome content!

This is spot on for me right now. I have two piles of jeans that I am getting rid of as my body has also changed with this season of life. I don’t like jeans much anymore. Leaning into work clothes, athleisure and straight workout clothes a lot more.

The shifting is real! I hear ya! I think if the pockets were a bit higher in the first pair, I think they’d be perfect. I like mother jeans better than AG. I think they’re the most comfy without bagging out and my pair has lasted three years and I’ll get a new pair in the nest Nordstrom sale.

Laura you are the best. Also 45 and figuring out perimenopause and what it means for my body and my clothes:) I am still into jeans big time, often still having good luck with Madewell jeans. Thanks for putting this out there:)

Madewell are still a fav of mine too. Thank you so much! It's been a real head trip especially with this job. Thanks for the support!!

Thanks Laura, for covering this. I’m 52 and the struggle has been real for the last three years. I used to live in my AGs but with the constant body “shifting”, I’ve been reluctant to invest too much in jeans lately. 🙏 hoping things settle down soon!😂

Thank you for talking about this! I’ve gained maybe 4 lbs in the last year, despite regular bootcamp and running every week. I eat healthily, too. Those 4lbs shouldn’t make that much of a difference, but they do! They’ve taken me almost up a size, but not quite. So frustrating to clean out my closet.

Really enjoyed this video. I've been reading the blog for a while now but this was the first video I felt compelled to watch. It was so neat to hear Laura talk, lol. I felt like i got uo know her better this way.
I became a mom 36 and am now approaching 39. My body has also changed so much. I've purchased a few Levis recently only because I can't commit to a higher price point when my body keeps changing. Thank you for continuing to share your journey!

How fun about hearing Laura's voice and thank you for reading along with us! Hope you'll find other videos helpful too. Which are your favorite Levis? They're definitely a team favorite.

I’m not sure how I feel about the ripped jeans as I get older. I’m a youthful 52☺️

We say wear whatever makes you comfortable! There are so many non-distressed jeans out there now, too. Here are a few the team own + love.

I hadn't even thought of perimenopause as the reason why I suddenly gained 10lbs "overnight"- because I swear to God I exercise and eat pretty well. This gave me hope. And I feel you; I don't know how many jeans I've tried.... still can't find one wide-legged enough, stretchy enough for my big legs. Sigh..

I'm am officially on the other side of menopause and no longer have a waist! So I wear athleisure more and jeans less. I still love jeans but I can't eat, sleep and work in them like before!

the only only only only only way for me to make jeans work, is to buy 1 size up and get the waist resized

    • @Themomedit

thats true for so many women! Especially if you are more curvy in the hips / bum area!
