4K Yellowstone National Park Wildlife with Canon R5: Wolf, Owl, Bison, Fox, Bighorn Sheep, Coyote

  • In Jan 2021, I needed a break from a series of life events, and spent two months in Yellowstone National Park. I was fortunate to have many encounters with the wild animals there. Seeing how these majestic animals survived through the harsh winter, in snow storms, below 20F weather at times, deeply moved me. It almost seemed like they never gave up, and at times even having fun. I hope you enjoy these slow motion moments.
For the particular wildlife encounters in this video, I have a lot of people to thank. Special thanks to: Jort Vanderveen for the Boreal owl and river otter sighting and numerous other sightings, Cindy Jones and Lyn StClair for the invitation to the snow coach with the American Marten Sighting, Vicki Santello for the first Marten sighting and many other sightings, Nick Zimmer for numerous sightings, Ronnie and Dominic for the wolf and coyote, and Jeremy SundarRaj and Taylor Bland for wolf sightings, Trent Sizemore and Todd for the sighting at Tower, Lyn, Todd, Heidi, Peter, Jeremy for the epic day.
The video was taken by Canon R5 and the Canon EF 600mm f/4. Some of them were taken handheld as I didn't have time to set up the tripod, so my apology for some of the shaking.
Music was by my membership in Epidemic Sound and Story Blocks.

This is such a refreshing change from the typical fast paced, fact cut videos that are always trying to pack in more with over-stimulating music. Thanks for standing out from the herd and creating while soothing.

I just sat down with my family to watch this and we were all mesmerised by the beauty of what we were witnessing. My children said they felt happy inside, it made them smile and feel tranquil. It was a very moving piece and testament to your dedication and love for this beautiful earth. I hope it bought you healing and peace. Thank you Tin Man for sharing this gift to us all.

Lovely Tin Man! I especially enjoyed seeing the videos segments when we were shooting together (otter, marten, bison)and seeing your interpretation in slo-mo while I was shooting stills. Also enjoyed the wolf scenes I missed after my departure - that was a true heartache for me but a true triumph for you!! So many special moments and I'd have to name the coyote washing it's face in snow as one of my top ones! Many thanks also for the mention of the first American Marten sighting - much appreciated. When I think about the 000's of miles and hours we both invested in our respective 2 months in YNP it's joyous to see such special moments condensed into a 13 minute clip. VERY WELL done by friend.

Thank you, reeling from some news myself. I never realized how do they find food in winters , nothing but snow, looks like home, northern Quebec. The wolves, I love them for their majestic beauty, intelligence, sentient, loving & loyal species. The otter looked happy. The others searching always for food, it’s hard. I guess you must know a Yellowstone wolf was killed by Giantforte of Montana, no consequence. I have a petition on Face book, to have president Biden place the grey wolf back under the endangered species act, look for it under my name or on Protect our Wolves, I’m at 700 but I need 1,000 before it’s sent. It’s on change.org as well. The hunts planned will decimate them. Your work truly is a blessing Thank you.
