I constantly go back to this video and still wonder how your parries for the beam attack work out. Big inspiration btw. Cause every time I'd go for the parry, I'd get it, but the hitbox has been lingering long enough to murderize me. I'm positive crit juncture doesn't share that issue, but this video from the topic only used crit juncture during the beam slice midair. I'll dance around the lasers if it's just not meant to be lol. Or keep trying if it's a timing issue.
You sound like you are right under his head when he does it. If you do that there is a weird double hitbox or something that kills you even if you parry the initial beam. If you are around a metre or more away from his head when he does the beam it's fine and actually a nice punish on the head. The one that screws me is the in air beam, fuck me that is terrifying
How did you practice this? I keep carting so fast I can't learn positioning and stuff effectively. Also what are some things to keep in mind while fighting him? Like "stay in front of his face the whole time"?
you're just gonna have to learn and cart; you don't get to see the countless times restarting the fight and ending the run due to something minor going wrong. you pretty much always want to stay in front to the left or right of his head; he has this really annoying attack that he occasionally does that has two hitboxes, but he only does this outside of rage mode with an uncharged head. when he does a wing slam, he will always follow up with another one or backhop into a laser; there are rare times when he will actually slam his other wing consecutively the hardest thing to learn is probably when to counter when he plants his tail into the ground; it's something that will take time and feel to get used to, especially since the timing is different in and out of rage mode
I’m planning to hunt EX Boltreaver... I’m very worried as I hear it can easily oneshot people. Will my GX White Fatalis armor be okay to use? I use it with my Ahtal-Ka IG, and I can get up to 27 Thunder res if I eat for Thunder Res (M), which also lets me get Insurance
He did take damage, a few times, but only when he used the regular valor dodge, so it is more of a Clean Run than a No-Damage Run. Still utterly amazing, as 99% of the time, he timed the parry perfectly.
@@swoledoge553 stop hating on the weapon and i stead farm better sns,consider changing your armor set,change your strategy,learn the monster's move set,the sns is really op if you know how to use it,i've seen ppl killing alatreon in 2 mins in iceborne with sns,seen ppl speedrunning with sns and destroying apex monsters in less than 3 mins.
Press r on the right timing with full valor gauge (not sure tho, it's been a long time since I've played LS) you get the counter-attack, then you can follow-up by pressing r again to finish the spirit combo
Why do all valor ls players do the the valor sheath spirit slash move that you use to charge the valor gauge after it's been charged? To keep it from running out? Or do they just sheath if they are not sure what the monster is doing next and cancel sheath with r1 once it's clear?
Google it, but mainly complete all village lowrank quest. (All non prowler and non advanced quests) And then do some follow up quests. Takes some time but worth it.

You may have had the time to learn about it but valor is a rather powerful style that limits your base weapons moveset and adds the ability to hold down your sheathe for your weapon. In the sheathe animation you are able to dodge any attacks that hit you or follow up with one of your weapons more powerful attacks which slowly fills the blue valor meter. It costs health and stamina to hold the valor sheathe animation but charging up the valor bar will unlock a wholly more powerful moveset for your weapon than what it normally has. It's not a complex playstyle and any player familiar with styles and monster hunter weapons shouldn't find it to difficult to learn. However the style is pretty fun and takes some skill to know how to use effectively and with how crazy GUs later ranks and fights tend to be, it serves to really expand your arsenal and playstyle. I for one was never a greatsword main and never liked greatsword but valor greatsword opened up a whole new type of GS playstyle where I was dashing around and toppling monsters with well timed giant slashes to the head without the slightest draw back.

This was also my set though i use DB. Slot in Soul of Kokoto and eat Thunder Res(L) for maximum thunder resistance. :D

maintaining valor gauge, sheath attacking gets you to the double slash finisher faster than a regular combo

R1 spirit attack has a guard point moment. If you press R1 and a hitbox coincides with it you'll counter that attack.
Only in valor style and when the gauge is full though and you're in valor mode
I really need to learn how to do that.
I'm kinda terrible with guard point moves and i-frame dodging though. =(
