Let Down is amazing. A face melter. As are most Radiohead tracks. Subterranean Homesick Alien is not an obvious choice but the bass in that track reflects the subject matter. I think it’s supposed sound like a spaceship.

What's interesting is that the song kind of produces that point of reference, i.e. it's where you expect it to keep going in the way it was going, so he was like "I'm gonna step in here because it's good time to do so". But that's the genius of the song, you didn't expect it to shift at that point.

I disagree. Everytime listen to this album it takes me back to the first time I heard it. I loved those moments, miss them, and my youth. My first kiss was this album, my first heart break was this album, the love of my life dance with me to this very song, I went to war with this album, and I've sung and sing this entire album to my children. This album to me is like water. Everytime I hear it, I drink it in and am reminded about how great life is. I'm no expert, but I know this, Radiohead's OK Computer is a lot more sweeter then the taste of a shotgun and its oil in your mouth.

    Mid-view comment!
For those interested in the strange background noise during the "Such a Chill" stanza, just before the drums come in (just before Geebz' first pause) -- and you hear this background noise again at the very end of the song -- it's actually recordings of children playing merrily at a playground, heavily processed, and played backwards. It's reminiscent of sea gulls at a beach.
ALSO, Brad Mehldau does a fantastic cover of this song with his jazz trio; it's him on piano, with bass & drums behind him, no vocals, but a very lively rendition of the vocal part is included in the piano licks. Check it out!

@@danemacdonald4033 Since I made that comment I've went through all their albums (including 'I Might be Wrong: Live Recordings') multiple times. I like them all for different reasons but my favorites are Kid A, OK Computer and In Rainbows. I don't consider any of their albums bad by any means. Not even Pablo Honey. It's actually one of the best English alternative rock albums I've personally heard. Not as deep as their other stuff but it's a solid album and I dig its sound. Brighter and more easy going. Good for a drive on a sunny day.
I'm honestly just completely floored by this band. They may actually be the best overall band I've ever heard.

I was 10 when this album came out, into music at that time already, but my sister was the one that actually bought the CD and had it playing in the house. Occasionally I'd borrow it, listen to the songs that were big on MTV at the time...Paranoid Android, Karma Police, etc, and then the handful of other tracks that would suck me in right away within the first 30 seconds or so. The slow acoustic/vocal intro on this particular track wasn't exactly what I was looking for at that age when I was just so new to music in general and everything was fresh to me. I assumed the whole song was gonna be in that vibe, and that wasn't what I wanted. A few years later, I let the whole album play out, and when the drums hit, I was absolutely blown away. I probably replayed the song a hundred times. Easily one of my very favorites on OK Computer now.
