The view from the hotel room is so nice! Interesting to see this aesthetic of Chinese culture.

OMG, Rojo, you finally hit my ancestral home and even though I have not been there, much appreciated to see it for the first time. Would have to make a trip to visit as my late parents would be thrill to learn I made it back on their behalf. Yes, we speak Teochew and luminaries of this region include the Ten Cent owner or founder, Li Ka Shing and about 80 per cent of Thai Chinese and Cambodian Chinese. My dialect is renown for being very good at business and resented sometimes unfairly as being "the Jews of the Chinese race." Thanks for the video. Love the ornate architecture of the town like Shantou.

do you speak Chinese ? if not, very brave to go there.
the city is very very local, I believe you did not see any american there.
PS. most of Chinese-Thai (who is now Thai), the ancestors are from this city

I learned to speak enough when I was living in China, but that part of Guangdong has a unique dialect.
