Only 750 built total! It was a Glamorous automobile. Each were sent to Mitchell Bentley for the hand-crafted modifications. These were among the most expensive cars at the time. Directly competing with the Eldorado and Skylark. We just acquired 25 cars from the Claude O estate. He had a full-time mechanic maintaining his cars. He wanted to be able to drive any car at any time.
EXTERIOR: Hand formed rear quarters, full rounded wheel openings, a scooped hood, continental kit, extra trim and set of chrome wire wheels set it apart from all other Packards. The body is straight with no significant issues. Beautiful factory Gulf Green metallic color. It has a smooth glossy finish. Overall, the chrome trim is bright and smooth. A sparkling set of chrome wire wheels are mounted on wide whitewalls.
INTERIOR: The metal was repainted and matches the exterior. Original dash bezels, knobs, gauges all look good. The seats and door panel upholstery is very good. Features include power seat, power windows, wonderbar radio and day/night mirror.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Packard proven straight 8 runs silky smooth and makes an abundance of torque. 4 barrel carb was restored, has correct air cleaner assembly. The heater assembly is hooked up, battery is secured, ignition system looks good etc. Overall, it is very clean and proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is completely carpeted. The spare has a whitewall that's never been used. A shop manual and car cover are included.
UNDERSIDE: Under this car looks very clean and proper. It appears to be rock solid floors, smooth chassis components. The shocks and exhaust system looks recent. Looking up at the motor it's dry not greasy. It has the optional Ultramatic transmission.
This is a special car. One of America's leading luxury car manufacturer's flagship model. Custom built by Packard in limited quantities. Very sought after for obvious reasons.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

This is a beautiful car. I'm a Packard man. They always said, "Ask the man who owns one." I can tell you that they are wonderful cars. A 1953 Caribbean is my Holy Grail car. Until that day and after, I'll keep on enjoying my 1951 Patrician. Whoever purchased this car now owns a truly special piece of automotive history.

This 1953 has a subtle elegance to it. It looks very European, very early Pininfarina. Front reminds me of early Ferrari Inter's 166 while the side profile looks like a Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible.

I fell in love with the 1951-1954 Packards because of the 1980 movie The Hearse. I believe it was a 1954 Packard Hennessy hearse. The front end of these cars are beautiful. As is the rest of it. This convertible is really nice. Sounds good. I hate that they didn't know how to put a rear view mirror on the passenger side door tho.

Jay you said (( it was and it is impressive car)) and that is true, also i can add (( it was and it is impressive engine 8 straight)

These Packards completed more directly with Buick since they both have straight 8s through 1954 and both have similarly designed automatic transmissions.
