Thanks to whoever recorded this back in 2005. David Hype Pierce is one of my faves. Yeah it's illegal, but I was a child back then and lived in a different country, there was no way I was going to be able to see it on Broadway. I wish they could have least made a professional recording to be released once the Broadway run ended. I would pay money for it! This shaky, low res version is the closest I'll ever get to seeing DHP as Sir Robin for real.
I think it's hilarious that, given Python casting, the actors playing Sir Robin and Lancelot first show up as the two guards interested in coconuts, which means you get grand applause for David Hyde Pierce (or Michael Urie currently) and Hank Azaria (or Alex Brightman at the Kennedy Center and Taran Killam currently) popping their heads out in a role they play for all of two minutes. Which is probably incredibly confusing for people who aren't familiar with these actors.
Lol thank you for downloading this. I remember putting so much work into adding subtitles and after 100.000 views youtube just decided to take it down and I couldn't find the video on my laptop anywhere anymore 😂 So thanks for saving this haha
omg… thank you (and now @buzigalz) for doing the lord’s work :’))) I remember finding your video by chance (pretty sure it was yours), falling in love with the show, and going back to watch the OG Python movie, which was another flavor of fun. I was so heartbroken when it got taken down… I’ll cherish this one while it lasts
My parents and I saw this on Broadway back in 2006. Different cast, but we still loved it, and it’s by far the funniest musical ever! Also, I remember during intermission, you could hear sounds of cows mooing
I wish I saw the original Broadway cast. I saw the Toronto production and it was phenomenal, but i would have loved to hear Sara Ramirez as Lady of the Lake. However, my cast did something in 2006 when i saw it a few weeks after the World Cup where Zinedine Zidane headbutted the Italian player and getting a red card out of it: - When King Arthur and the knights meet up with the Frenchman who farts in their general direction, they added the line "Run away now, or we will head butt you in ze chest!" The entire theater erupted in laughter and applause and the actors had to wait a bit to compose ourselves. I wonder if the other Spamalot casts added that line, if it was a revision from Eric idle or if it was just a Toronto thing...
1:17:50 You're marrying Princess Lucky [Dearly, the dalmatian puppy] If I were to stage this production: "You're marrying Princess Cadpig" "You're marrying Princess Two-Tone" "You're marrying Princess Dolly Dalmatian"
This musical has done wonders in turning my frown upside down today. And it was desperately needed. Forgot how ridiculously wonderful this is.

It's crazy to think that this is that old. I was only 1 year old in 2006.
