  • At the head of the line of walkers was Kaitlin Bennett, dubbed the "Kent State gun girl" for a graduation photo that went viral back in May.

"having guns on campus in general is not safe for students." Texas universities have allowed students and faculty to open carry for years now. No one has been hurt and violent crime on campus is far lower than other places.

I'm pro 2A and don't think guns should be allowed open carry in any business, gov office. So many idiots in this world i don't want to be around someone carrying.

That is technically what a Gun Free Zone is, but how well has that sticker on the window worked for preventing violence? If guns cause violence, then why aren't gun shows bloodbaths?

@@kzr_1613 Believe it or not, most of them don't open carry, they conceal. Open carry does not require training, but concealed carry does. Seeing as how this is Texas that we're talking about; Most of them probably have more training than the police.

@@TexZenMaster no guns no problem. My country never had a mass shooting in college or school because guns are banned and nobody cry for them. We never needed or wanted guns and we are fine. Murika create fear and panic to sell more guns and people are falling for it. There is better chance to get hit by a car then being victim of mass shooting. Even if it was situation when you could save the day and killing the mass shooter there's still a chance to panic and fail, even veterans can fail in situations like this let alone kids or civil people + what if the cops come after you shot the guy or during the shooting and shot you instead, thinking you are one of the shooters.

If someone is open carrying a fire arm, that is their business, they most likely have a permit to conceal and carry. I will admit that I have been harassed by many people while open carrying in Indiana. I was in a gas station once buying some dr. Pepper and the guy behind me was all ready to tackle me because he seen my gun and taser on my belt, he didn't say anything to me but I could see when I turn my head. He was all up on me getting ready to tackle me, when I turned around and said sir are you okay he got all wide-eyed and backed up real quick and got a bad attitude. Just leave people who carry a firearm alone

Why is it “their business” when the situation is in your favor. Yet when it comes to abortion and a women’s body it’s no longer “their business” it’s your business too. Y’all think abortion is “killing a baby” but are fine with guns that have actually killed thousands of children. Make it make sense….

Guns are used more in self defence and to prevent crime than to kill.
      Uk burgalary stats
" UK Burglary Statistics - How to Protect Against the Biggest Threats
Sarah Smith | Sarah Smith 21 January 2023
UK burglary statistics show that in the year ended March 2022, there were 192,060 police recorded home burglaries across England and Wales, equating to 526 home burglaries per day, and a house being burgled every 164 seconds.
More than 50% of domestic burglaries happened when someone was at home. "
      Criminals and armed victims.
"Over 50% of Convicted Felons Fear THIS…
      June 11th, 2020,
When it comes to legal gun ownership, there is a broad spectrum of belief. One extreme argues that guns in the hands of gun owners are crimes waiting to happen and when law-abiding Americans own guns, it makes others feel less safe. The other end claims that legal gun ownership is the key to personal protection and without it, Americans have no way to defend themselves against criminals who would do them harm.
With so many differing viewpoints on the subject, it can be hard to separate fact from fiction. That’s why we’re presenting you with three research and data-driven statistics about gun ownership and carrying firearms.
      #1: Criminals Fear Armed Civilians
Criminals don’t just fear armed civilians; they go out of their way to avoid them.
According to research completed by the U.S. Department of Justice, private gun ownership influences the behavior of criminals. In this study, over 1,800 imprisoned felons across the country were surveyed on their opinions of firearms.(1) Here is what they learned:
One-third of criminals questioned had encountered an armed victim. The study found 34% of the felons had been scared off, shot at, wounded, or even captured by a gun-owning victim.
56% of those interviewed agreed that criminals intentionally avoid armed victims. If criminals know the individual has a weapon, they chose to target another victim.
Basically, criminals fear the armed civilian more than law enforcement.
There are multiple reasons for this, but the most common include: police are rarely at the crime scene in a timely manner and they are required to follow “policy and procedure.” On the other hand, the average civilian does not receive procedure defense training like the police, so can-and will-act in whatever way they deem necessary to protect themselves. "
Criminals aren't looking for a fight, and a gun is an equaliser for women, elderly and the disabled.
      Us burglary stats
" Home Safety and Security Stats and Facts
“The risk of being a victim during a burglary is actually very very low. There’s only someone present 12.5% of the time, and people only became a victim of violence in 26% of those 12.5% cases.”
-Dr. Ben Stickle, criminal justice and theft expert "
There are about 1.65 million home invasions per year.
      12.5% of 1.65 million is 206,250.
      26% of 206,250 is 53,625.
      50% of 1.65 million is 825,000.
      26% of 825,000 214,500.
In 2019, there were 14,414 gun homicides. Roughly 80% of all gun deaths per year are gang related. Those people voluntarily chose not to obey the law in the 1st place, and sadly paid the price.
So now there are 2,883 gun homicides.
      Times guns prevent crime
      160,875.
      Times guns kill
      2,883.
If a gun is used in self defence, we do not know for sure if someone would have died. And that's literally the bare minimum of times guns prevent crime, not including car jacking, ext.
And about crimes that don't include murder
"Home Invasion Crime Statistics That Will Keep You Up At Night" - Nation Search
According to a United States Department of Justice report:
38% of assaults & 60% of rapes occur during home invasions
Walter White was a chemistry teacher who couldn't afford healthcare. So he used his knowledge of chemistry to sell meth to criminals. 10s of thousands of people make guns for a living, and thier children rely on them for the money. How Many opportunities do you have for someone to no die because they cant afford healthcare? Or get in a deadly domestic despute over not paying the mortgage? Or turning to drugs after losing your home? Or people using thier knowledge of firearms to make and sell to criminals on the black market to terrorise unarmed victims? ( over 1 million drug charges a year ). And it isn't even that hard to make guns yourself.

Let's be serious there is no need for a big gun or a gun at all on school campus that's like going to regular school carrying a gun , what ends up happening ? Think smart and stop always making stuff about race.

If she feels that much of a need to have a weapon on her to protect herself, what about something that doesn’t have a high chance of killing someone and doesn’t give people anxiety of a MASS SHOOTING HAPPENING ON CAMPUS!?
