After upgrading to 4.9 cura, slicing is very slow. A simple part that lasted 4s in 4.8. In cura 4.9 is 1:25s. Large models that lasted a minute now take half an hour. Is it possible to solve it, or does cura 4.9 have high hardware requirements? Thank you

The build plate for models is too high when it starts. Also when I try to go to scaling. The program closes. I am running linux and the printer is an Ender-3.
Does it still crash amd cpu computers?
I have tried Cura 4.7, 4.8 and now 4.9. The same situation keeps happening. I can open cura just fine but when I click on the "folder" the program closes. Also, I don't know where to find the log file and if I can find it what am I look for? I have posted 7 times in the community but no responses!

For bug reports, we direct users to github: github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues
The log files can be found here: C:\Users\\\AppData\Roaming\cura\\cura.log on Windows. Here you can find more information about logging issues.
Currently we have received some similar issues with open files. But we can't reproduce this issue, so reporting and sharing log files will be very helpful for us. When you fill in the forms on Github, we will help you as soon as we get all information! Hope this helps. And sorry for any inconveniences.
I'll have to check it out, kinda nervous because last time i upgraded it just installed a whole new version of cura and i had to re-do everything.
Make sure you export all your settings BEFORE you install the new version.
Preferences - Configure Cura - Profiles. Select your profile and export it.
Thanks for the work on the slicer. is nice to see the layer starts easily now so they don't end in places hard to sand
can you put the profiles for the wanhao d12 300 because it is not in cura

Is this Digital Library only available if you own a Ultimaker Printer?
Hi TiimxmiiT, The Digital Library is available for all users of the Ultimaker Professional and Ultimaker Excellence subscription plans. A limited version of the Digital Library (max. 5 projects) is available for users of Ultimaker Essentials or for personal users that own an Ultimaker Printer.
How do you change out of Line Type? I hate it and I can't find any way of getting it back to how it was before the update
Hi John, you can follow these steps:
Go to preview mode (after slicing)
Navigate to the top of the screen
select 'color scheme'
Select the drop down menu (now shows 'line type')
Select any other option, such as 'material color'
@@Ultimaker There isn't a drop down under color scheme for me, I can only check the boxes to show or hide parts of the print

I REALLY DO NOT understand what is going on.... Cura 4.9 has been released, but the website seems to only have cura 4.13. 4.7 seems to have been released as well, but try as I might I cant seem to find the downloads for either of the more recent releases.
Edit: ok, ive figured it out.... see, I'm used to whole numbers and decimals working like whole numbers and decimals.... which would make the next version after 4.9 version 5, not 4.10... but hey, thats just....arabic numerals and how they used to work. lol

can we please get the ability to cut parts on a plane into multiple stl parts and add alignment notches so we dont need other 3rd party software
also the ablility/option for cura to cache the gcode file in a different location when printing from USB so that Cura does not need to be open and undisturbed while printing
this cache location could be ported from PC through USB and commanded to be written on to SD card that is inserted in printer via local motherboard then a command sent to launch print from SD card with matching file name with the only requirement for this to work being the need for a SD card inserted in printer.
basically to summarize you would be remote writing the SD card through USB then sending a command to launch said writes remotely making the print process reliance local while launch process being remote
this would also open doors in the future to native WIFI writing support through Cura as the same process can take place but be sent through WIFI instead of USB.
all you would need is to first send a command gcode packet coded to tell the firmware/motherboard to detect local SD card and boot a custom SD writing sequence using USB as port and wait on incoming file to be written, then when file is received through USB is then ported/written to SD card and then launched locally
the result would be after the custom commands are sent, if i want i can shut my pc off or do something else like work on my next project ext. while my printer is printing. this would remove client monitoring for printing and i will have full access to my PC without the need for a background program to continue running and be monitored using unnecessary resources and causing glitches in printing process based on what the client in doing or if its interrupted.

gcode part file would be stored on local SD to be available for later use if necessary
client reliance removal/glitches mitigated
potential Cura native WIFI support (with motherboards with WIFI modules and read/write capability, no raspberry pi and octoprint needed)
potential for live rewriting of gcode file while printing via PC (being able to adjust printing process parameters or alter part mid print

Hi proprinto, limited storage in the Digital Library is included with the standard free Ultimaker account and Ultimaker Essentials (which now comes included with every printer or for a one-off price for existing printer owners). Hope this helps!
