Elgin Swat responds to Lincoln Avenue - June 4, 2024

At approximately 18:54, Elgin Fire Engine 1 and Ambulance 4 were dispatched to Lincoln Avenue for a report of an unconscious female, possibly sustaining a gunshot wound. The scene was unsecured at the time of the call out and arrival of fire personnel. Battalion 1 also attached to the call.
Elgin Police cars were seen scattered down Dundee Avenue with the department's swat truck parked directly in front of the address. Police used a loud speaker for several minutes attempting to get the suspect to surrender.
After about 15-20 minutes on scene, members of the swat team entered the home with rifles and shields. Just a few short minutes later, they exited the house and the scene was cleared as a false call. No victim or suspect were located inside the home.
