I guess any tune no matter its source was fair game to make into a dance record. Just jazz it up a little to dance tempo and print on the label "Fox Trot" and PRESTO! a new dance record was born! This recording is most interesting but I seriously doubt that Puccini would have approved his creation being plagiarized this way for someone else's profit.
