Ah, "PSAB." Been there twice. Once, when it was a tent city under the 4044th, led by General Dan Dick, then years later when it looked like it does in this vid. I mentioned Gen. Dick: The happiest CG I've ever seen. Always smiling. He was gifted a bulletproof black Mercedes and a camel - truth. Mark Williams, USAF (ret.) AMMO Troop (Munitions Systems).
@@7minprimerlearning yes, great A/C. I remember the rain and thunderstorms - I think it was December or January. Yes, desert rains are reality. The tent city was a result of the Khobar Towers bombing. They made a hasty move from Dhahran. They got a bunch of empty conexes and literally tossed all the PC's and equipment in and trucked it to PSAB. Not a whole lot was salvageable. Then, they put the Transportation Commander in charge of security, as opposed to the security police. She (will remain anonymous) headed the "Security Escort Service" first run by commissioned officers, then senior NCO's. I was the first NCO to supervise that detail. We had a small fleet of humvees we used to "escort" third country nationals on the base to various locations (we weren't armed). Lots of problems; they had us determining "who" got priority to get on base! I'm am AMMO Troop; not a force protection expert! Long story short, a "Red Team" arrived and assessed the security situation and ripped the wing "a new one." Big changes after that. I came dangerously close to courts martial taking a stand for truth against the lies of a superior concerning the reality of the situation. Totally worth it. Ok, the PSAB in the vid buildings were built by the Bin Laden Construction firm. Serious security, and far better than living in tents.
@@ImaginaryDaveyeah the saudis took over the whole base. I was apart of the 494th that went there in Jan ‘20. Ran out of food and MREs the first week we were there but went back in ‘21 and it’s a lot better

it's a tent city again for US personnel. Army is at the old base at Eskan Village.
