I'll say it, I underestimated this album. Before, I thought trap music was a waste of time. I only decided to buy this cause of the extra money I had so I risked it. And man, this is fucking amazing and I'm so glad I took that risk. 90210 is probably my favorite song right now. Travis Scott takes trap music to a whole new level and I'm definitely a new fan.
Rodeo was such a fantastic, unexpected album. I still think it's underrated. It's probably the only "trap rap" project worthy of being called an album.
Mesus To Pimp a Butterfly, I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, B4.DA.$$, Summertime ‘06, Rodeo, AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP, DS2, etc. Lot of good music that year
T.I. is the narrator of the story, that's what his vocals were for. He wanted it similar to Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon 1 like when Common did the same thing on some of those tracks. He's a huge Cudi fan so it made a lot of sense to have someone who gave him a record deal and put him on his label on here
tidal is gonna stream it for a week, then we will be able to download it from apple music and spotify and etc. the album is leaked anyway, and it's weak imo
Fun fact, Piss on your Grave was meant for Yeezus 2, before it got transformed into TLOP and initially was a kanye solo project, before being given to Travis in exchange for Kanye getting FML on TLOP.
call me late in the game, but I just sat down and finally heard this whole album last night from start to finish and it's easily my favorite of 2016, even though it was a 2015 jump off. I'm glad I gave it a listen! Will continue to bump this the rest of the year! 9/10 from me.
I love the transition from the intro of Maria I’m drunk to the piano of the main part and how travs sustained voice crosses over into the dreamy, atmospheric piano melody
It’s crazy reading these comments now only from four years ago. Travis has became an insanely large artist ever since then (not that he wasn’t already) and the amount of success he’s had since this album dropped, is unreal. This album is still one of the best modern rap albums created
+Renni You're only saying that cos you went into the track with preconceived notions about Bieber and you want to force yourself to not like it. Bieber did fine
+Kingsley de Jenga It is absolutely not better than Wasted. The message, the lyrics, even the beat and the features work into the track beautifully. I'd truly say "Piss on Your Grave" is the worst track on here, it's quite cringeworthy.
+Adrian Ramirez I appreciate the Pimp C sample, but "Wasted" is still an instant skip for me. But regardless, "Piss on Your Grave" is definitely better than "Antidote". I have no idea how "Antidote" is such a popular single. More cringeworthy lines than "Piss on Your Grave".
Rodeo is genuinely ahead of its time, but still needs a lot of work. I hope Travis devolps more as a muscian. hes an artist for sure, no wonder Kanye signed him, he saw the creativity for sure, but he does need to devolp his song structure and lyricism and flow. more so song structure because soemtimes i feel like his flow really works for most of his songs, but then it does get a little too repetitive sometimes. other than that, I genuinely really like his work
Akir Stuart Yeah, though I thought Birds was decent for what it was, but overall a disappointment compared to Rodeo. I really hope Travi$ can top it with Astroworld or at least match it. If not though, I'll still be a fan.

+Soviet Potato that past two travis scott records he gave 3/10. Im sure many people thought he was about to rant on this guy but he actually liked it
Production wise I think this album is ambitious af. Travis isn't the best lyricist but he made a compelling album
Listen to him freestyle and I await this comments correction
@@tariqtelesford9045 travis’ lyricism is below average he’s not awful but he has nothing on your average golden age rapper
@@Alex-kr3ne Just like Kanye, but their vision, production and literally everything else is top notch and covers it up.
@@Alex-kr3ne I wouldn't say below
@@neveahphillips5610 Kanye has a lot of songs with amazing lyricism
I think in an era full of trap bangers we have yet to hear something like Rodeo to this day imo
it was too good, almost like it was a fluke
@@SPACEDOUT19It would be a fluke if Travis dropped off immediately after this. Or an “Illmatic” type of situation where it’s the only album one could name
@@owlcircus6811yea but if rodeo is still his best album.
@@ezpznoob8092yeah but astroworld and utopia were both amazing and both came close
@@SPACEDOUT19wasn’t a fluke, it’s just his best. astroworld and utopia slap too
I'll say it, I underestimated this album.
🚮🚮 trash if you ask me just like your life
Hell yeah man it's a great trap record and wayyy ahead of anything in its field.

This review should put an end to the "He hates all hip hop except for Kendrick" comments.
+B-Mint1994 Lol no. people still gonna be like "you gave this a 8 but MBDTF 6?"
cam on the beat LOL true. People should know that his scores are based on his own enjoyment. Not on how great the album is objectively.
And MF Doom
+B-Mint1994 death grips
+B-Mint1994 he gave drakes last album an 8 as well.
Rodeo was such a fantastic, unexpected album. I still think it's underrated. It's probably the only "trap rap" project worthy of being called an album.
Trap Lord tho
The Great Magnet the difference is... asap ferg is a rapper not autotune rapper
Dirty Sprite 2
i think both Migos's Culture and Ferg's Trap Lord are both worthy of being called albums
It's not even trap tbh. He's in a league w cudi and ye
2015 one of the Greatest YEAR FOR Rap Everyone Dropped Their Best Project
OddMaq For real bro it was amazing
Classic Yeah Man Tetsuo & Youth And AT LONG LAST ASAP , Compton
It just isn't taken as seriously anymore
Mesus
To Pimp a Butterfly, I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, B4.DA.$$, Summertime ‘06, Rodeo, AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP, DS2, etc.
Lot of good music that year
Birds made me go back and appreciate Rodeo more
underatted comment

Krooshey birds wasn't even that bad
Krooshey same, birds was trash
littleboy129 that Danny brown album is trash. You just like whatever Fantano likes. Admit it.
Still an incredible album

@@Txfruithow’d you like it?
@@Meliderious best album of 2023 at least in hip hop. Til further notice, thank god, my eyes, skitzo, hyaena and telekinesis still in regular rotation
T.I. is the narrator of the story, that's what his vocals were for. He wanted it similar to Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon 1 like when Common did the same thing on some of those tracks. He's a huge Cudi fan so it made a lot of sense to have someone who gave him a record deal and put him on his label on here
Top 5 songs on rodeo:
1. Maria I’m drunk
2. Antidote
3. Nightcrawler
4. 90210
5. On my dis side
i see no lie
apple pie
ObsessionDesigns it’s good but not in the top 5
Wasted, impossible, pornography
I actually enjoyed "Pray 4 Love" a lot, its one of my favorite's tracks on the album.
Views From the Lean Cup i feel like the hook is kinda weak, but Travis's verses are waaay too good to not listen to the song
Abel is the only one saving the song, his last verse is what makes the whole track.
Matt A that last verse is fucking firede
The verses r good chorus does kinda sound like shit but the verses are amazing
@@TT460m Stfu 1rst verse is the best
90210 is superb
when the sample in "piss on your grave" is jimi hendrix's "Machine Gun"
I literally love you
This is my favorite rap album of all time. It’s a 10/10 on a bad day for me
Same
Maria I'm Drunk has some evil hypnosis going on in the opening, I feel like it'd make dogs bark. Its on the scary side.
Along with impossible and never catch me
Its suck a good song
I’ve been saying this. The piano in the background as well
I'm still mad kid cudi wasn't on this project
I think it's because he was super locked in on working on speeding bullet to heaven.
CLASSIC. 10 years from now you'll see.. YOU WILL ALL SEE!!!
You're not Rich Piana
You are right
Amazing album
Malibu’s Most Wanted it is definitely a classic
Malibu’s Most Wanted
This comment and the album aged well
90210 is one of my favorite songs ever. The entire albums has aged beautifully. OK Alright is also one of the most underrated on the record
fr and he called the beat switch bad but it's one of the best beat switches ive ever heard
@@spollorythe transition itself is bad yeah
this album is better than pablo, imo
The Life Of Pablo is already a classic... Rodeo is good and I liked it but TLOP is a whole new level
There's a link to download all 18 tracks
tidal is gonna stream it for a week, then we will be able to download it from apple music and spotify and etc. the album is leaked anyway, and it's weak imo
+Johnnyboy whole album is lit
Completely agree bro
The female vocals that were on 90210 were done by Kacy Hill.
Travis went from a 3/10 to an 8/10. That's a hopsin album to a RTJ album.
gabe And back to a 3 again :(
Don Lilo wait for astroworld
Well Cudi went 0-10
gabe well Cudi is his inspiration
3 -> 3 -> 8 -> 3 -> 6 -> 7
Fun fact, Piss on your Grave was meant for Yeezus 2, before it got transformed into TLOP and initially was a kanye solo project, before being given to Travis in exchange for Kanye getting FML on TLOP.
Both songs are 🔥🔥🔥
so FML was Travis song originally?
@@super6070yeah
I listened to 90210 for the first time and I just felt a tingle, obviously there was room for improvement but it just hits you in a weirld level
Mithun Nathan and you haven't listened to the full album?
I did but when I heard 90210 just stuck with me for some reason.
Mithun Nathan tf you mean room for improvement? Did he not rhyme enough for you?
I know this feel.
call me late in the game, but I just sat down and finally heard this whole album last night from start to finish and it's easily my favorite of 2016, even though it was a 2015 jump off. I'm glad I gave it a listen! Will continue to bump this the rest of the year! 9/10 from me.
dont sleep on days before rodeo too
Since I don't see it, SZA does the vocals on "Ok Alright".
This is one of Anthony's all-time best reviews, love this review and this album.

I listen to maria im drunk in the shower everyday
I can't believe it... Straighthony Uptano actually enjoyed a project from Patty LaFlame!!!
the justin beiber verse one of my fav parts of the record
Hold this L
nah it was dope
Noah Smith same and I don’t even like Justin just goes to show how artists can inspire one another
Noah Smith You can’t even listen to the song on Spotify and Soundcloud, and you can’t buy it as a single on iTunes.
unironically really fucking dope verse
I love the transition from the intro of Maria I’m drunk to the piano of the main part and how travs sustained voice crosses over into the dreamy, atmospheric piano melody
been my favourite since 2015!
how did he did it?? i still cant understand: its antlanta trap but its beautiful
well I mean he's from houston but OK
Oblivion9873 he mostly rely on atlanta trap
+Emmanuel Mondesir lmao the name of his album is Rodeo, he reps Texas
+Dead and Gone yhe name comes from his life that he describe as a circus with high and low,the name isnt really related to texas but wtv.
Atlanta trap is already beatiful
this is an album that's still ahead of its time, and very re-listenable. this guy's potential is too much.
1. Rodeo
2. Days Bofore Rodeo
3. Birds In The Trap
4. Owl Pharoah
where would you put astro world now?
Update?
Astroworld is 2, could become 1 with time
Carson Ramain NO way lmao, Astro world was good but has too many features. Rodeo has bangers with Travis’ old beautiful melodies and production.
To be honest birds might be better than days
It’s crazy reading these comments now only from four years ago. Travis has became an insanely large artist ever since then (not that he wasn’t already) and the amount of success he’s had since this album dropped, is unreal. This album is still one of the best modern rap albums created
Same it's nostalgic thinking that you've been listening to Rodeo for 5 years now.

Travis is dope but justin bieber ethered the whole album
+Renni shut......da fuck up
justin bieber was good , he never was that good as here
+Renni truuuuuuuuuuuu
You mean renegaded
+Renni You're only saying that cos you went into the track with preconceived notions about Bieber and you want to force yourself to not like it. Bieber did fine
Days Before Rodeo was fucking dope! This dude is bashing him like he's garbage af.
he gave it in a great rating
+Tispazy not to DBR
no he didn't the review was positive

Massively underrated album by "real" hip-hop heads. Mind blowing
and now it’s considered a classic by many
Rodeo>>>>>>Utopia
by a tiny bit
@@jonathanperalta8545nah by a decent amount. Utopia is still great though
idk both the same
Rodeo his best
easily
Pray 4 Love is my 2nd favorite track. The part where Travis & The Weeknd are singing at the same time is fucking GORGEOUS.
That was trash af
+Andy Coronado it was better than Wasted and Antidote. The two worst tracks.
I JUST HIT A THREE-PEAT.
FUCKED THREE HOES I MET THIS WEEK.
what the fuck was he thinking?
this album so much better than birds
Travis can actually rap tho lol. Peep his xxl freestyle in the cypher
90210 is easily one of the best songs of the 2010's. Both songwriting wise and production wise

Earl Sweatshirt ik owl pharaoh had some great songs but for me It didn't feel like it was that great but overall it shaped him into a musical powerhouse
Earl Sweatshirt no
Oh My Dis Side especially Oh My part is everything a rapper wishes his song to be... from a club banger to adrenaline booster to a late night vibe ting, Oh My Dis Side will actually be (imho) Travis’s best song to date
