Getting to the Promise: God Does Miracles | Passover

Exodus 12 provides us with the specifics of the Passover, and we find that Jesus and his sacrifice mirrors many details found in that passage (John 1:29, Luke 3:23, John 19:36, 1 Peter 1:18-19, and 1 Peter 2:22). The key to the deliverance of the Israelites was not that they sacrificed the lamb, but that the blood of the lamb was applied to the doorpost. In the same way, the blood of Christ must be applied to our lives.
The Passover shows us the clearest picture of the sacrifice of Jesus in the Old Testament. We are delivered from slavery, through the sacrifice of a lamb, and we are called to remember that sacrifice.
