ok thank you so much for all the information im a huge fan so ill probably ask more questions in the future. I wanna be a breeder when I get older an you've inspired that a lot have a wonderful week
I will be there but not vending. I feel like it's too good of a show to miss out on because I'm vending 😆 I stock up on supplies and check out all the reptiles at the NARBC shows. I can, however, bring things with and do a hand-off at the show if someone is interested in a snake or gecko and they don't want to pay for shipping.
@@creaturecove i would love to meet and just say hello. i am looking for a rosy, and would prefer to get one from you. male costal/desert (no black). i was going to message you on fb?
What's the overall ambient temperature in your reptile room during winter time? Do your Rosy stop feeding during winter time or do they feed through all season?
I close off the reptile room and run a heater in there during winter, so the ambient temp is always 75°f. I offer food all through winter as I have not been brumating them. Most continue to eat consistently, while 1 or 2 of them will eat every other feeding or so.
You should still quarantine. I explain the "why" in the video. If you dont have the space to keep it separate from where you want the set up permanently, you should at least use the paper towels or newspaper or some form of that for as long as 90 days.
Yes, Fuzz is the only one left😢 She is also the sweetest little one ever. We have all of our pairs together now and will be looking forward to having more available come fall.
Dehumidifier when it is moderately high. When it is way high, I switch out their substrate to paper towels. The aspen that I usually use can hold moisture and raise humidity.
@@creaturecove my herpstat reads 90 but my ir gun reads like 80 should I up the temp on the herpstat to reach the desired substrate temperature on the gun?
Something seems wrong then. There shouldn't be a difference that large between what your thermostat and heat gun read. Could your batteries in the heat gun be low?

Oh my goodness, thank you!!! That means so much to me!
I'm so excited for you to get your new rosy as well!!
Such a good comprehensive video thank you so much
I use the same tape for the probe, but I tape it directly on the pad underneath the tank
Yes, that's definitely another way some opt to do it.
Thanks for the guide. Very helpful video. Keep up the good work 😊
Thank you so much!!
ok thanks do I need to quarantine it in a different tank
You don't have to as long as you clean it out well. We have assigned tanks just for quarantine, but we have multiple reptiles.
Are you going to Tinley!?

If you want to switch to fb messenger, we can chat more. Maybe you live near me and you can come check out the babies!

@@creaturecoveHow often do you feed your Rosy? Does all your Rosy eat frozen thaw only?
@@creaturecoveDoes any of your Rosy ever regurgitate their food?
I feed an appropriate sized meal to neos (new babies) every 5 days, the sub adults every 7 days, and the adults every 10 days.
Yes, I have them all on f/t. Once in a while, I'll have one that will decide it doesn't want to eat, and then I will offer a live if it comes to it.
Would you recommend LED lights instead for rosy boas?
Im gonna get it at a expo on the 16th in Tennessee Chattanooga I don't own any other reptiles do I still need to quarantine it

There is only one rosy on your website is that the only one available ?

How do you keep the humidity down during the humid seasons in IL?
Dehumidifier when it is moderately high. When it is way high, I switch out their substrate to paper towels. The aspen that I usually use can hold moisture and raise humidity.
Do you run the heat mat 24/7 at 90?
I do, yes.

are you going to this expo
Unfortunately, no. That's the weekend of our Tinley NARBC expo. I won't be vending, but I always stock up on food and supplies there.
Do you think you’ll still be selling rosies next year? I’m planning on grabbing one as soon as I get an apartment next year 👀
Absolutely!
