Kevin, I can't tell you how helpful this information has been for me. I am trying to help my father navigate this process and your videos are the best source I have found online for understanding these concepts in plain english. Thank you for putting your time into this.

Thank you for the positive feedback. This stuff is stupid complicated. What other topics should I tackle?

Thinking of switching to a Bronze plan to lower my premium. Because of this video, I understand the differences and know what I need to consider. Thank you Kevin. I appreciate it.

Im with Kaiser and cant decide still - save $100 a month or risk paying more if theres an emergency. I use about 3 medications a month, and only do video visits - whats your thoughts?

If someone is managing a chronic condition and taking medications, I lean toward Silver, just in case there is a flare of the condition the necessitates lots of visits, tests, imaging and labs. Usually the lower copays of the Silver plan save more money over the Bronze plan, even with the higher Silver premium.
If the condition is well manage and history does suggest any medical intervention in the future, then a Bronze plan can be appropriate. Just have the necessary cash in savings IF you have to dip into the money to pay for the health care services at the full negotiated rate.
