Us dancing to Joe's favorite song again, Copperhead Road, after his funeral in the church parking lot, July 14, 2011. I got the full song this time :) We all love and miss you Joe Nowak!
That´s what i´d call a decent funeral. Like there´s the saying: don´t mourn the loss but celebrate the time you had together. RIP, Joe, and keep on dancing up there...
@@riverraven7 Thanks for your reply. There´re already too many sad things happening; celebrate a good person and his memory. I´d like a ceremony for myself, too. Remembering what you shared, not what you lost.
We celebrated my son's life, I never thought I would belly laugh at my son's funeral, but the stories his friends told about the crazy things he did. The funeral should be about their life, not their death. I am so glad the family and friends got out there and danced for Joe!
When my grandpa died, my grandma had us blasting out and singing along with happy, upbeat gospel songs to celebrate his life and that he'd been "promoted" to Heaven. Everyone in the funeral home came to see what we were doing, and the funeral director said he'd never seen anything like it.
2019 and this came up in my feed. RIP Joe, through we never met- you must have been fun loving and special to have friends pay tribute to you this way!
I didn't know the deceased but I cannot help but think Joe is looking down from heaven with a heart filled with love and joy to see his friends and family dancing together to honor Joe's life.
It is 2024. And, this is still my most favorite of my most favorite videos of all-time because of the lady in the yellow and black top. It was 12 years ago when this video was put out there; and, I still want to know her. She has more heart and soul than any lady I know.
This is a celebration of this man's life. I am sure he was there dancing right there with his friends and family. My condolences on his passing. He made this world a better place with his presence.
I bet Joe is smiling from Heaven watching his loved ones honoring him at his funeral! Just saw Steve Earle in concert a couple of months ago here in Houston, he sang this song, it was a Great concert!

Death is a celebration of a life. I grew up in a family that told funny stories, laughed, remembering our loved ones. We know those who have gone before would not want us to mourn their passing, but rejoice in the living.
When my daughter (age 6) passed away, my sister & I were standing at her casket telling "funny Lisa" memories, very very quietly laughing to beat the band when someone came up to check on us. They thought our shaking shoulders were because we were crying when all we could do was laugh. That girl was the best thing that ever happened to me...a true blessing.
