So one the first season, breaking bad didn't receive that much hype but as the show continued people started talking about it and finally when the show reached the climax people went crazy. Given the success of Dark, they should have just greenlit the planned three season arc knowing it would take some time for word of mouth to spread about how good it is. Or just because not every show has to be binged in a month.

Netflix needs to scale back on their "originals." They need to focus on quality over quantity. So many good shows with amazing potential get canceled before they even have a chance. I mean 1899 was out for 6 weeks spent 4 weeks in the top 10 and gets canceled... it doesn't make sense.
I was just hell of expensive. It was THE most expansive show Germany ever produced (low scale tbf but it was still a huge investment they made overall)

I've come to the conclusion that Netflix sabatoged 1899 even before it was released. No marketing, weirdly default English dubs, insanely short viewing competition window. And it's obvious that the creators had much bigger plans for these characters. And that ending? It's not what it seems... Several clues hint at something weird going on. And hard agree... Dark is a masterpiece....

The marketing, and pointing to the authors as the authors of Dark and geniuses etc would be great. I literally can't believe Ginny and Georgia, the absolute cringe show, got renewed and this one did not. Capitalism.
I also have this feeling. They knew the kind of show it would be, and that like Dark it would rely on word of mouth to get more viewers. It premiered it on Nov 17 and on Jan 3 season 2 got canceled. Really? They wanted people to binge this show during such a busy season? My job goes into crazy mode at the end of the year, then there are all the family/friends gatherings, traveling... I mean, I really wanted to see it and had no time until after it got canceled.
The default to dub is awful. I rewatched part of the first episode with it briefly and they did it in such a way that they altered dialogue so it made more sense for characters who aren't originally speaking English to speak English. E.g. rather than saying nobody understands me in Spanish they say somehow like "nobody cares what I say" in English. As a result viewers don't realise they're being duped until much later.
Netflix completion rate is about how many people finish a show in a month and I think this is not necessarily a binge type of show. There is a lot to it and it’s a lot to digest in on sitting. I’m pretty sure the show would have been way more successful if it was released in chunks.
Well that's what doesn't make sense. Dark is so confusing and in German it must have the lowest completion rate because it takes several tries before you can get into the show. It took me like 5x of trying and giving up before I finally found the interest to finish the show.
Also, they premiered it on Nov 17 and on Jan 3 decided it was not going to have a season 2. I loved Dark and I really wanted to see 1899 but I was not able to do it before Jan 3 (the end of the year is a busy time for most jobs, plus you have all the family gatherings, events, traveling... ). I believe if they left it until the end of January many more people would have finished it as it is a month where everyone stays home more to recover from the crazy end-of-year events. Also, I know many people that said they would not start watching it until Netflix decided there was going to be a S2: knowing Dark, this series would be pointless without a second season, and at this point, few people trust Netflix to not drop series.
@@eva_luna1701 Actually the holidays is the best time to watch shows. So it had the best chance to succeed. After the holidays it's a dumping ground for second rate shows. Also it's still worth watching because the season is a complete story with a perfect ending. Frankly I don't know why it needs a season 2 as the story nicely concludes. There are no cliffhangers. I enjoyed it more than dark.
So basically the reason for it failing is due to production companies pandering to our laziness to read, unwillingness to think and inability to use our imagination. This is why we can't have nice things 🙄
It is sad to see Netflix pull out on something that clearly involved more money and effort than their usual pc mish mosh we usually see, hopefully this doesn’t discourage them from making a big project like this in the future…. Atla live action pls don’t disappoint

@@susandiana4172 That's not gonna happen because they've spent too much money just to license the rights for Tolkien so they have to keep the show going. But Amazon does save shows like the Expanse when Syfy cancelled it. 1899 producer said he was going to shop the show around to get funding for two more seasons. The first season cost $60 million due to alot of setup but each additional season is maybe $40 million so two more seasons could cost $80 million so about $5 million a season which is on the cheaper side.
I loved Dark and also 1899. I was so annoyed about 1899 getting cancelled that I cancelled my Netflix subscription. They also cancelled several other show I really liked last year that hit #1, and I'm tired of watching stuff with a huge season 1 cliffhanger only to find out it got cancelled. The idea that they have to have huge numbers immediately after something is released goes against the whole idea of streaming. I don't want to feel forced to binge watch something right after it comes out! 1899 was also released the week before Thanksgiving. That's a really busy time for a lot of Americans and it doesn't surprise me that there wasn't a huge finish rate before the end of the year. If they want more people to watch their original shows, do some freaking marketing.
I fully agree with all the points you make about this amazing show. Personally, I loved the fact that the many characters aboard the ship in 1899 are speaking a variety of different languages as this is unique in my experience of watching film/tv. It makes for total believability. Moreover, the show is so well cast, with great acting.
I agree, I love listening to all the different languages, people translating for one another, trying to communicate in different ways, it's not something you see often and I think it's great. Shame on people who watch the dubbed version tbh, it takes away so much of the series' charm
Its a shame because I believe all the time we spend looking at the characters backstories would have been used to great effect in future seasons but at this point they really just seemed like a waste of time.
Loved Dark, but honestly, I thought the first three episodes of 1899 were incredibly dull, trying too hard to build atmosphere and for me, they failed, not enough story, backgrounds too disjointed, condense those three down to 2 and it might have worked. You are right, the dubbing was awful, once I switched to the multi lingual version it worked. I stopped watching after episode 3 out of frustration with it. I know several people who gave up after 1 or 2 episodes. I'm not surprised so many people gave up with it before hitting 50%. That is a shame, I went back a while later and from episode 4 on I absolutely loved it.
agreed, it's totally understandable that people are giving up, Netflix is hamstringing this show by defaulting to a terrible English dub on top of it being a slow burn

I loved so much the 1899, it was spectacular show! I watched all the episodes at once. It was so mysterious and exciting, I'm really disappointed that they cancelled the show, shame! I hope Netflix will change their mind! 😢🙏
It was for me the revelation of this writers duo. So inspirational and creative. After that I got really interested in DARK. Their previous show. I stared looking at it before but I found their last show way more interesting. So yea: it’s a crime to stop it
I didn't even know about the language thing - I watched on dub and just assumed all the characters would be speaking German if I switched to subtitles. Definitely one of the reasons this show didn't get as much attention as expected, and it's a shame Netflix contributed directly to this problem and then cancelled the show because of views

I was excited to watch this as soon as I had time to do so, but now I feel like it would be a disappointment because the story will not have a conclusion. It is sad that Netflix seems to only want shows people can mindlessly binge while being half asleep on the sofa. Sometimes great stories need some effort (reading the subtitles instead of having everything severed on a silver plate). There are enough countries out there where dubbing isn't common, and they have to read subtitles for everything. They survive that too, don't they? But I guess laziness kills nice things. The worst part is, with this one I actually understand their decision because I know how lazy people can get when it comes to media consumption, and making money is an integral part of any business.
6:30 you are wrong here you don't know that maybe their backstories are metaphor for their real connection together in real life (if we assume the space ship at the end is real life)

I saw this show and loved it and someone recommended Dark and watched that too and loved it. Both were great but I think I loved this 1899 a bit more. Dark was so confusing.
@@jonfreeman9682 I'm working through Dark right now. I had a little trouble getting through the first few episodes because I was mixing up a few characters. Once I rewatched and sorted that out I've really been enjoying it. I would say that 1899 is easier to digest on an initial viewing.
@@ethanhandel1001 That's what happened to me. I tried to watch it but it was so confusing I was lost and everything in German doesn't help so I gave up. I tried and gave up 5x before someone here said you gotta stick with it and get to know the characters then it'll sink in. So if you can get past half of season 1 then it starts to grow on you. It's the very rare show that gets better with repeat viewing.

I enjoyed the show but I had some problems. The biggest is that most of the side characters didn't go anywhere. They spent the first half giving them back stories and by the last two episodes just forgot about them. They were pointless. Ultimately I didn't care about any of the characters. loved the premise and it looked gorgeous. A mixed bag.
This reminds me of Marco Polo. I know this show got a second season but it was really well made. Costumes, locations, acting, dialogues, music… everything was on point and you could see this. It’s easily my favorite historic show even though it strongly diverted from what Marco Polo supposedly really experienced. I feel like shows from Netflix get cheaper and cheaper and then they pull something like 1899 off and cancel it. I think this show got canceled before most people even finished watching it 🤦♂️ Sorry Netflix, good shows are like good wine. They need time to age and develop flavors 🍷
Agreed, too many characters. But also, you say this doesn’t get as much attention as Dark, but Dark itself doesn’t get enough attention either. It’s a shame, this was interesting take on known premise. Even if you figured out what’s up it was still interesting take.
1899 looks amazing, the sound Track is great, and the premise is intriguing. But the ending was unsatisfying, non of the ensemble cast matters except for 3 (and I didn’t like most of them), and at least for me I figured out the twist in the second episode so The mystery part fell flat. I personally don’t think they can pull off a second season without drastically changing the show so I’m not sure where it should go
Well that's exactly what it'd be. These creators had many layers to unpack in their last show. There was no way to predict where Dark season 2 would end after season 1, and season 3 similarly so. I guarantee there's many layers left in 1899. Also similarly to Dark, you're supposed to be able to figure things out, and yet even when you do you probably have it wrong. I'm nearly as certain that the things that become obvious quickly in season 1 of 1899 are not what the final answers will be. They had plans for two entire seasons, they wouldn't just show their hand straight away. Once ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ reality has been undercut once, there's every reason to undercut it again and again.
Going forward I'm not gonna invest time when S1 is released of a certain stuff so if it gets cancelled for S2, I'm not disappointed. Such a crazy series, there was so much to discover.
I agree with most of what was said. I really loved the show and was looking forward to season 2. I didn't mind the dubbing at all. In fact I refuse to watch a show if I have to read subtitles.
Netflix's issue is launching the entire season all at once. That is the reason the show failed. It kills the hype. If it was launched weekly, it most certainly would have more views. This show was in works since before 2020. It really sucks that it was cancelled literally one month after it came out
It was terrible. Zero explanation, zero answers. Round and round in circles. Mish mash of themes and substance, just a complete mess. It deserved to be cancelled.
I believe that the critical failing of the 1899 story was that (spoilers) once it was revealed that the primary characters were in hibernation on a spaceship, and the secondary characters were actually all virtual, it robbed all of the characters' stories of their various impacts. People were just wandering around in their dreams. The spaceship reveal should have happened much earlier in season one, instead of at the end, to establish the real stakes of the real story.

Ugh, Netflix is trash, they continue to make stuff like The Witcher that is awful, and make shows like Resident Evil when ever Resident Evil adaptation ever has had the same critique for fans hating it but then you can't even get invested in the few good shows that appear there either because they always immediately get cancelled. 1899 was actually really interesting and well done.
I thought it was a great show. Honesty the subtitles didn’t bother as much as the story progressed, at some point I could tell what they were discussing without reading.

Just so you know, Netflix actually canceled the show because it was accused of plagiarism by a comic book artist from Brasil! The comic "Black Silence" was released in 2016 and the show carries many frame by frame (very) similar scenes, plot devices and character arcs as the book. I haven't yet found any indicator if the comic book artist has followed through with the accusation towards the writers, but if she has, not being available to the public is quite common for the legal process, which she did announce that she had the intention of taking. The series creators have said that the series is not even inspired by the book, but like that is usually what a creator says when accused of plagiarism. I especially think that it was quite arrogant of the german creators (whom I really used to like for Dark is my favourite series ever) to say that Mary only accused them to boost the book's sales and fame when she already has international recognition for it, she even gave lectures about it on the Göteborg Book Fair, AND the book is available for free on the internet. I think Netflix saw enough merit in the accusation to freeze the series' production because as it has been said, the comic book is a short novel so it is easy to dilute its' "references" across a 12-hour series to the point of needing a deeper evaluation to confirm the merit of this accusation. Especially when you consider that this will be involving the rules for plagiarism throughout 3 different legislations, Brasil's, Germany's and the US'.

It's not necessary to continue the story. We found out at the end that all of that complex plot stuff that happened was not important. It was all a sim by an AI to entertain passengers on a long space journey. Where do you go from there? Keep in mind, things that happen in a computer simulation don't matter.
I am almost 100% sure the spaceship was a simulation too. There would have been 3 series... Maybe one in 1899, another in 2099 and another in 1999 maybe. Also, I am quite sure all the stories about the different passengers would matter further along otherwise why your they show them to us? These are the creators of Dark, everything would mean something in the end.
Disappointing, but not surprising. It was WAY too slow moving and drawn out, it was obvious what was going on almost from the start, and it would seem that most of the character backstories were meaningless. Yes, it reminded me a lot of Lost, and like that show, I just wanted them to get to the point and explain things.

Just finished watch, very interesting series, intriguing and the end is REALLY surprising! 1899 started out as a good show until the real plot of an alternate reality set in. I suffered through the whole season. This show ended up being complete garbage. One show I’m happy Netflix pulled the plug on. 🎉🥳🙌

unlike Dark, 1899 wasted the viewers time as everything that happened in the season was meaningless, as we find out at the end of the last episode. that, paired with the style-over-substance approach Dark's creators prefer, made me dislike it even more than Dark.
Interesting take, but it’s hard to say if it was meaningless since we don’t have another season. Perhaps all of the backstory is needed to tell the next chapter. These show runners think through every detail and likely had a very complete story to tell that would require what we think is meaningless now

@@commander31able60 Plato's allegory of the cave. The illusion the prisoners see isn't fake, but it is a shadow of reality. It corresponds to the truth but it's simply not the full image of it. There's no way to tell what's real and not. Maura's dreams and landscapes and all that clearly correspond to whatever reality is on some level. Perhaps the place is wrong. Or the time. Or the order. But I feel that people, words, and actions are all probably jumbled up psychologically disturbed shadows of reality.
I think it got cancelled because how are you gonna follow it up ? the plot was great,,, how are you gonna keep it going? it is probably better to let it end where it did.
I looked into this show after hearing all the hype. I actively tried, put effort and interest into it. I gave it my all.... I had to stop watching after episode 3. The twist or whatever isn't worth it. The suspense is laid on SO thick I got tired of it. It just did not take a break. And the first episode, holy F. It's nothing but PC/woke woman bashing/ patriarchy'BS for the first 1/2, finally the plot happens in the 2nd half but they had to get another quick woman bash just before it ends. Woke garbage turns normies off and this show led with it hard.

I believe if they left it until the end of January many more people would have finished it as it is a month where everyone stays home more to recover from the crazy end-of-year events. Also, I know many people that said they would not start watching it until Netflix decided there was going to be a S2: knowing Dark, this series would be pointless without a second season, and at this point, few people trust Netflix to not drop series.
@@eva_luna1701 Actually the holidays is the best time to watch shows. So it had the best chance to succeed. After the holidays it's a dumping ground for second rate shows. Also it's still worth watching because the season is a complete story with a perfect ending. Frankly I don't know why it needs a season 2 as the story nicely concludes. There are no cliffhangers. I enjoyed it more than dark.
So basically the reason for it failing is due to production companies pandering to our laziness to read, unwillingness to think and inability to use our imagination. This is why we can't have nice things 🙄
It is sad to see Netflix pull out on something that clearly involved more money and effort than their usual pc mish mosh we usually see, hopefully this doesn’t discourage them from making a big project like this in the future…. Atla live action pls don’t disappoint

@@susandiana4172 That's not gonna happen because they've spent too much money just to license the rights for Tolkien so they have to keep the show going. But Amazon does save shows like the Expanse when Syfy cancelled it. 1899 producer said he was going to shop the show around to get funding for two more seasons. The first season cost $60 million due to alot of setup but each additional season is maybe $40 million so two more seasons could cost $80 million so about $5 million a season which is on the cheaper side.
Changing the Audio is 100% the first thing I did when I started watching this series, for all the reasons you stated.
I loved Dark and also 1899. I was so annoyed about 1899 getting cancelled that I cancelled my Netflix subscription. They also cancelled several other show I really liked last year that hit #1, and I'm tired of watching stuff with a huge season 1 cliffhanger only to find out it got cancelled. The idea that they have to have huge numbers immediately after something is released goes against the whole idea of streaming. I don't want to feel forced to binge watch something right after it comes out! 1899 was also released the week before Thanksgiving. That's a really busy time for a lot of Americans and it doesn't surprise me that there wasn't a huge finish rate before the end of the year. If they want more people to watch their original shows, do some freaking marketing.
I fully agree with all the points you make about this amazing show. Personally, I loved the fact that the many characters aboard the ship in 1899 are speaking a variety of different languages as this is unique in my experience of watching film/tv. It makes for total believability. Moreover, the show is so well cast, with great acting.
I agree, I love listening to all the different languages, people translating for one another, trying to communicate in different ways, it's not something you see often and I think it's great. Shame on people who watch the dubbed version tbh, it takes away so much of the series' charm

Its a shame because I believe all the time we spend looking at the characters backstories would have been used to great effect in future seasons but at this point they really just seemed like a waste of time.
Loved Dark, but honestly, I thought the first three episodes of 1899 were incredibly dull, trying too hard to build atmosphere and for me, they failed, not enough story, backgrounds too disjointed, condense those three down to 2 and it might have worked. You are right, the dubbing was awful, once I switched to the multi lingual version it worked. I stopped watching after episode 3 out of frustration with it. I know several people who gave up after 1 or 2 episodes. I'm not surprised so many people gave up with it before hitting 50%. That is a shame, I went back a while later and from episode 4 on I absolutely loved it.
agreed, it's totally understandable that people are giving up, Netflix is hamstringing this show by defaulting to a terrible English dub on top of it being a slow burn
The first 3 episodes were slow, yes, but it has an amazing slow burn that by the time it goes to the 8th episodes, you realize you are extra crispy.

It was for me the revelation of this writers duo. So inspirational and creative. After that I got really interested in DARK. Their previous show. I stared looking at it before but I found their last show way more interesting. So yea: it’s a crime to stop it
I didn't even know about the language thing - I watched on dub and just assumed all the characters would be speaking German if I switched to subtitles. Definitely one of the reasons this show didn't get as much attention as expected, and it's a shame Netflix contributed directly to this problem and then cancelled the show because of views

I was excited to watch this as soon as I had time to do so, but now I feel like it would be a disappointment because the story will not have a conclusion. It is sad that Netflix seems to only want shows people can mindlessly binge while being half asleep on the sofa. Sometimes great stories need some effort (reading the subtitles instead of having everything severed on a silver plate). There are enough countries out there where dubbing isn't common, and they have to read subtitles for everything. They survive that too, don't they? But I guess laziness kills nice things. The worst part is, with this one I actually understand their decision because I know how lazy people can get when it comes to media consumption, and making money is an integral part of any business.
6:30 you are wrong here you don't know that maybe their backstories are metaphor for their real connection together in real life (if we assume the space ship at the end is real life)

I saw this show and loved it and someone recommended Dark and watched that too and loved it. Both were great but I think I loved this 1899 a bit more. Dark was so confusing.
@@jonfreeman9682 I'm working through Dark right now. I had a little trouble getting through the first few episodes because I was mixing up a few characters. Once I rewatched and sorted that out I've really been enjoying it. I would say that 1899 is easier to digest on an initial viewing.
@@ethanhandel1001 That's what happened to me. I tried to watch it but it was so confusing I was lost and everything in German doesn't help so I gave up. I tried and gave up 5x before someone here said you gotta stick with it and get to know the characters then it'll sink in. So if you can get past half of season 1 then it starts to grow on you. It's the very rare show that gets better with repeat viewing.

I enjoyed the show but I had some problems. The biggest is that most of the side characters didn't go anywhere. They spent the first half giving them back stories and by the last two episodes just forgot about them. They were pointless. Ultimately I didn't care about any of the characters. loved the premise and it looked gorgeous. A mixed bag.
Some stories need time to be told. I wasn't bored for a moment.

This reminds me of Marco Polo. I know this show got a second season but it was really well made. Costumes, locations, acting, dialogues, music… everything was on point and you could see this. It’s easily my favorite historic show even though it strongly diverted from what Marco Polo supposedly really experienced.

Agreed, too many characters. But also, you say this doesn’t get as much attention as Dark, but Dark itself doesn’t get enough attention either. It’s a shame, this was interesting take on known premise. Even if you figured out what’s up it was still interesting take.
1899 looks amazing, the sound Track is great, and the premise is intriguing. But the ending was unsatisfying, non of the ensemble cast matters except for 3 (and I didn’t like most of them), and at least for me I figured out the twist in the second episode so The mystery part fell flat. I personally don’t think they can pull off a second season without drastically changing the show so I’m not sure where it should go
Well that's exactly what it'd be. These creators had many layers to unpack in their last show. There was no way to predict where Dark season 2 would end after season 1, and season 3 similarly so. I guarantee there's many layers left in 1899.
Also similarly to Dark, you're supposed to be able to figure things out, and yet even when you do you probably have it wrong. I'm nearly as certain that the things that become obvious quickly in season 1 of 1899 are not what the final answers will be. They had plans for two entire seasons, they wouldn't just show their hand straight away. Once ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ reality has been undercut once, there's every reason to undercut it again and again.
Going forward I'm not gonna invest time when S1 is released of a certain stuff so if it gets cancelled for S2, I'm not disappointed. Such a crazy series, there was so much to discover.
I agree with most of what was said. I really loved the show and was looking forward to season 2. I didn't mind the dubbing at all. In fact I refuse to watch a show if I have to read subtitles.

Netflix's issue is launching the entire season all at once. That is the reason the show failed. It kills the hype. If it was launched weekly, it most certainly would have more views. This show was in works since before 2020. It really sucks that it was cancelled literally one month after it came out
It was terrible. Zero explanation, zero answers. Round and round in circles. Mish mash of themes and substance, just a complete mess. It deserved to be cancelled.
I honestly think if they turned this into a novel it would be awesome. So many people want to know the continuation of the story

I believe that the critical failing of the 1899 story was that (spoilers) once it was revealed that the primary characters were in hibernation on a spaceship, and the secondary characters were actually all virtual, it robbed all of the characters' stories of their various impacts. People were just wandering around in their dreams. The spaceship reveal should have happened much earlier in season one, instead of at the end, to establish the real stakes of the real story.

Ugh, Netflix is trash, they continue to make stuff like The Witcher that is awful, and make shows like Resident Evil when ever Resident Evil adaptation ever has had the same critique for fans hating it but then you can't even get invested in the few good shows that appear there either because they always immediately get cancelled. 1899 was actually really interesting and well done.

Just so you know, Netflix actually canceled the show because it was accused of plagiarism by a comic book artist from Brasil! The comic "Black Silence" was released in 2016 and the show carries many frame by frame (very) similar scenes, plot devices and character arcs as the book. I haven't yet found any indicator if the comic book artist has followed through with the accusation towards the writers, but if she has, not being available to the public is quite common for the legal process, which she did announce that she had the intention of taking.
The series creators have said that the series is not even inspired by the book, but like that is usually what a creator says when accused of plagiarism. I especially think that it was quite arrogant of the german creators (whom I really used to like for Dark is my favourite series ever) to say that Mary only accused them to boost the book's sales and fame when she already has international recognition for it, she even gave lectures about it on the Göteborg Book Fair, AND the book is available for free on the internet.
I think Netflix saw enough merit in the accusation to freeze the series' production because as it has been said, the comic book is a short novel so it is easy to dilute its' "references" across a 12-hour series to the point of needing a deeper evaluation to confirm the merit of this accusation. Especially when you consider that this will be involving the rules for plagiarism throughout 3 different legislations, Brasil's, Germany's and the US'.

It's not necessary to continue the story. We found out at the end that all of that complex plot stuff that happened was not important. It was all a sim by an AI to entertain passengers on a long space journey. Where do you go from there? Keep in mind, things that happen in a computer simulation don't matter.
I am almost 100% sure the spaceship was a simulation too. There would have been 3 series... Maybe one in 1899, another in 2099 and another in 1999 maybe. Also, I am quite sure all the stories about the different passengers would matter further along otherwise why your they show them to us? These are the creators of Dark, everything would mean something in the end.

Disappointing, but not surprising. It was WAY too slow moving and drawn out, it was obvious what was going on almost from the start, and it would seem that most of the character backstories were meaningless. Yes, it reminded me a lot of Lost, and like that show, I just wanted them to get to the point and explain things.
The show creators need to dumb Netflix. Or alter their agreement because it’s such a waste of energy ,time and talent just to get cancelled because they said so.
Just finished watch, very interesting series, intriguing and the end is REALLY surprising! But, if the series continues, have GREAT chances of became a pathetic disaster like west world in the later seasons is the creators do not already have a SOLID story ready! But, seriously, Netflix have very "strange" standards about what should or shouldn't be cancelled!
Like in Dark, they already have all 3 seasons planned from the beginning so everything would be explained and closed properly.
You should increase the pace of your voice a little bit to keep the audience engaged. It became so slow at times that I got bored. I'm sure your videos will improve if you focus on these minuscule elements

A lot of people want to watch when they want to watch it and that might not be within 28 days. I would say there is more wrong with Netflix's leadership than with 1899.
People have jobs and families... maybe they do want to watch it in 2 days but have no free time to do it.

1899 started out as a good show until the real plot of an alternate reality set in. I suffered through the whole season. This show ended up being complete garbage. One show I’m happy Netflix pulled the plug on. 🎉🥳🙌

unlike Dark, 1899 wasted the viewers time as everything that happened in the season was meaningless, as we find out at the end of the last episode. that, paired with the style-over-substance approach Dark's creators prefer, made me dislike it even more than Dark.
Interesting take, but it’s hard to say if it was meaningless since we don’t have another season. Perhaps all of the backstory is needed to tell the next chapter. These show runners think through every detail and likely had a very complete story to tell that would require what we think is meaningless now

There's no way to tell what's real and not. Maura's dreams and landscapes and all that clearly correspond to whatever reality is on some level. Perhaps the place is wrong. Or the time. Or the order. But I feel that people, words, and actions are all probably jumbled up psychologically disturbed shadows of reality.

I looked into this show after hearing all the hype. I actively tried, put effort and interest into it. I gave it my all.... I had to stop watching after episode 3. The twist or whatever isn't worth it. The suspense is laid on SO thick I got tired of it. It just did not take a break. And the first episode, holy F. It's nothing but PC/woke woman bashing/ patriarchy'BS for the first 1/2, finally the plot happens in the 2nd half but they had to get another quick woman bash just before it ends. Woke garbage turns normies off and this show led with it hard.
The writing is immature, to be polite.
