Not tryna be rude or act hurt or anything, but lots of cheerleaders are in cheer for the competition factor. Yes there are teams that just cheer at football games but most teams have a competition team also.
And you shouldn't because it's an ignorant statement. Cheerleading isn't just cheering on a sports team, it's also a competitive sport. Who the hell cares what it's for or who it's beneficial for anyways if they love to do it?

Brooke was put in a team with dancers way younger than her so she couldn't grow as a dancer and eventually lost her passion...
the pyramid symbolizes the results of the previous competition (the week before) so if this dance does well, Brooke will be higher in the pyramid next week. Kelly seems to have forgotten this.
P&T Cava this was in season 1 when pyramid was still new. They were still figuring out how it worked and Abby was still figuring out her system. In the first couple episodes it was a mix of performance the previous week and Abby’s expectations for the upcoming week. Kelly probably just didn’t know how it worked yet. Remember, pyramid didn’t exist before the show. This was week three and in the first two weeks they were both filmed as potential pilots and so pyramid had to be based on the upcoming week since they didn’t know which one would air first.

I feel like in the first two seasons, Abby felt that her job was to provide a professional career for dancers, but in seasons 3-5, it wasn’t about the kids, it was about HER empire and HER success, more so to where it came across as conceited. But then seasons 6-7, her empire started to fall, and she fell apart because she couldn’t do it all. I just wish Abby was back to herself like in the first two seasons. And before you’ve made your opinion about my comment, I will disclaim that I know that Abby is rude all of the time, but you have to understand that there’s tough love and then there’s rudeness, which Abby does plenty of both. I’m also not saying that she is not in the wrong, because she most certainly is

You’re absolutely right. In the first few seasons she would still show some sort of compassion to Chloe who wanted to give up dance. She didn’t want these girls to stop dancing cause they could be so much more. But that just stopped somewhere along the way and it was never about the beauty of dance anymore.

Abby wanted Brooke to grow as a dancer, it's not that she wasn't her favorite, it's that she wants the best for her. What could've been for Kelly as well. What she meant by Kelly settling for things, she didn't mean it in a bad way, she meant to say that Kelly still would've been dancing for a big company right now if she continued her journey and to not let Brooke go down the same path because Brooke has a lot of potential. Abby saw the potential in Brooke and she didn't want that to be thrown away. Sometimes, what directors or instructors say may seem too far but sometimes, it's the truth. They only want the best for their dancers and their futures.

Sofu Panzu it’s not that she didn’t like Brooke, she didn’t like Kelly’s actions. Abby can’t really do anything to the moms so she takes it out of the kids to hurt the moms, which is wrong on so many levels but it’s her technique.

“Brooke was never the favorite” do you guys not realize that Brooke was there before the show? Just because we didn’t see it on the show doesn’t mean it wasn’t true.
Most dance teachers understand that not every student in their studio wants to be a professional dancer. I wanted to be an elementary school teacher and all my teachers supported that. Other girls i danced with wanted to go to nursing school. Just because your student doesn’t want to dance the rest of their life doesn’t mean you failed. What important is that you made a positive impact in that kids life. I still hold onto lessons my dance teachers and coaches taught me. Teaching goes so much deeper than just the skill you are teaching them

Yeah, this is an actual dance team. They go to competitions and also have guest choreographers. What you are talking about are small dance crash courses. Although all the girls left dancing, only Maddie still dances.

What I really never understood from this show was Kelly's logic. Kelly stopped going to dance and lost all the potential she had, and while it was wrong of Abby to hold a grudge against Kelly by being mean to her kids was wrong, Kelly did not make the situation any better because she kept taking the girls home instead of being at the studio to be better, she didn't bring Brooke to some classes, so of course her technique was getting worse. Brooke didn't make it any better either by not wanting to come. I understand, if you're in a sport that basically takes a lot of your life, it becomes your lifestyle. But it was pretty sad to see Brooke just NOT want to be there anymore while she was still at a point where she was still flexible, where she was "Abby's favorite". The logic of a teacher is (and as sad as it sounds) that they're not going to pay attention to the ones who don't want to try anymore, that just wastes their time. So of course Abby chose other dancers who actually wanted to be there to learn and be better. Does it suck? Of course it does.

No Kelly. I actually agree with Abby. If your daughter doesn't want to put in the work, she doesn't get rewarded. It's not always about talent or who's the the best. It's about hard work, desire, determination and commitment *as well* as talent. You don't get rewarded without putting in the work. Things aren't going to just be handed to you

She finds somebody who is young and amazing and then once they win it all and they start losing the ambition because she burns them out, she moves on to somebody else." Abby also really liked Brooke and then Brooke grew up and Abby hated her

Kelly is the mother I liked the least, she wanted her daughters to be up and center but not make them do the work, God Forbid if Miss. Abby showed any complaints about their performance or work ethic, and if so.. she always had this stick up her ass of superiority rubbing on Abby's face facts regarding looks and money. None of those made her and her kids looks better , Abby was right in many things, Broke looked miserable and Paige was too much of a baby to keep up with the rest of the girls who did wanted to get better and win .
