Hello, a new viewer here❤. I have a question about fears. Because my experiences as a child i have a big fear of getting really ill and dying young age although I am very good fit. But maybe because my fears i now did get an autoimmunity disease, now I'm waiting what else is coming. I know I am not supposed to think like that, but the fear does not go away. Any ideas where to go from here?
It sounds like you have experienced things that are validly concerning. I think it can help to process what you have experienced and the mind/body connection. Addressing these fears with a professional can help you to find more peace and even more balance with your health.
How should I deal with unwanted distressing impure thoughts? I don’t like the idea of “letting them go” or “let them sit until they pass” it feels sinful to me or like I’m entertaining them. I do see a catholic therapist who treats OCD and just started seeing a spiritual director.
The 'shadow' theory makes me think of Romans 7:16-17: "If then I do that which I will not, ... then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."
Thank you for this ❤

Seeing a Catholic therapist and having a spiritual director can be a tremendous help if you have access to both!
I wonder if you could offer a Catholic perspective on Jung's theory of 'the shadow'.
