To add to this, when you're blocking the door you can press D (move right) to look through the window. If you didn't hear anything you can do this and if he approaches you will see his shadow on the left (with plenty of warning time). You can then let go of D and get ready to click the doorhandle.
Doing that sometimes make the game bug: The breather might not appear even if he is supposed to be here, so you think you're safe and then he litterally gets you when you exit
We have to go to the deep web looking for keys and avoid any threat that comes in your way just so we can save the grill because without that we can't make hamburgers

But it's to late then because you didn't get any chance to enter the alley Room. Also: The Breather will try to trick you after he can't get into the room. He pretends that he left the alley but is waiting behind a corner until you picked up the package. The best way to counter that is waiting 4 or 5 minutes

Comparing the breather here to the previous game. He’s still super fucking relentless. In the first game it takes almost a minute to hold while bracing for the breather takes half that time. In this game, you cannot brace. You have to take your time and hold the door between intervals. Which kinda sucks. My friend did a playthrough of the game and kept on getting killed by the breather.
I hate the stamina bar. It just conditions you to not hold a button forever like as if a investigative detective guy has less infinite stamina than a random woman who just decided to use her PC to look up the deep web.

Because it balances the player from abusing the mouse and making the breather completely useless at finding you (the player) it’s for game balancing that the dev placed to force players to take their time. I’m all for game design choices, but the breather and bracing was ALOT better in my personal opinion.
u don't always need to hide. There's 3 sound cues. It's best to just 100% your headphones everytime you click the door and listen to them. They are not hard to hear, you can very clearly hear them all. If u don't hear any of them just go get the package to not lose precious time

I can't ever win against the breather. I understand how the door works but I literally haven't gotten past the first push because he kills me as soon as I click to hold the door. On Lucas, you need a motion sensor to hear when he is coming. The best way hiding in the bathroom (make sure your computer was offline or police will track you down). When hiding in the bathroom don't make any noise on the microphone and never peek through. Listen to this footsteps and door opening sound carefully. Sometimes Lucas trying to trick you when he's leaving the room (like breather). Wait until he leaves this room. Actually waiting took you like Max: 5 minutes. There you go xD
Kürşat Yilmaz in the apartment the motion sensor is useless. The only thing you need is a good ear to hear the lockpicking sound que he makes everytime (sometimes this either gets bugged and mute. I know, super frustrating) . If u keep all lights off he will stay only for about a minute . If u dont turn off your pc he will steal some of your coins and can delete your notes. Imo the sensors are only useful in combo with the alarm upgrade and the blue whisper to know if the hitman is in the hotel looking for you.

Agreed. There appears to be a lot of waiting involved with this game. It's probably attempted to build suspense but I think it's ridiculous when considering additional mechanics that tend to be time vampires.
I love it. It's a great change from other games for me. I've always joked and complained about how killers in games give up after ten seconds to go despawn until they feel like coming back. Real attempting murderers don't just quit and vanish into thin air after a few seconds, especially not when they're determined to get their target(s).
Agreed, but 5 minutes seems excessive to me when you have similar waiting periods for 2 additional threats. This would be not as big of a deal if permadeath wasn't a mechanic. I don't like that you're spending a large amount of time waiting as opposed to playing the game.
I suppose that's fair. My guess is that it's intended to make you work faster at the computer to maximize the work you get done with the time you DO have with it. On the bright side, I think you actually only have to wait that long for one of the other threats, and hopefully running into a guaranteed Breather attack often enough to be a serious pain isn't that likely. I guess it comes down to the speed of the players and a decent chunk of RNG. That much I will say is unfair.

If you're holding down the door handle with a tight grip, that makes the other person trying to open it unable to do so.. It's not that hard to understand.

The dev confirmed Lucas doesn't. It looks in that video he didn't play the mini game (holding the door against the breather). If you hear the breather audio que upon entering the alleyway you have to run and hold the door. So maybe he can trick you, but to be safe, wait and play the mini game.

Yes you left click to hold the door when u see it moving, You have to time it perfectly because you have a stamina bar on your right side of the screen (see video) , if he tries the door again and u are out of stamina .. you're dead.

There are more sound cues that happen when you enter the alley that mean he's coming. Sometimes you can hear a phone ringing or a faint laugh.
You can ignore sond ques at all , and just go run in that room and wait the 30 secs. His steps are the best sound que. Any other is very inconsistent

Either you have a very high latency (low frame rate) , either you need to play some osu! to improve your reaction time
