Imagine paying for the same game you already have with only minor fixes that are totally negated by really bad new bugs because they're trying to force us over by shutting down all official servers for Survival Evolved. I don't even want to upgrade because it's not an upgrade it's a downgrade.

These guys have to make some money to keep the lights on. Do we as a community seriously expect to have so much content handed out for free? Unreal engine 5 remastered maps for free with more work beibg done to support community modding and rhe like. Dont like it? Dont buy it.
That's exactly what a lot of players are doing. Not buying it or dropping off.
The biggest issue I see with a lot of players is no one asked for these upgrades. They asked for stuff to be fixed like the long neck rifle problem and cheating which has had minimal attention to it.

I would love another crab but not a fuckin flying one, maybe a giant hermit crab you find in shallow areas around the map that are useful for hauling supplies underwater or have another kinda unique ability to maybe protect you in its shell and move a lot quicker underwater

Meanwhile, Palworld might add in a crab pal that can fly.
As someone with about 1000+ hours in ARK ps4 and another 1000+ hours in PC and ran multiple servers, Palworld is so much more fun now that now i kinda want to drop Ark entirely.
Just the dinos/Pals alone:
1. Instead of parking your dinos at your base, they actually do work based on their skillset. Smelting for metal ingots, farming, mining, etc. its intuitive and easy to do too. They even collect the items and put them in storages.
2. They feed themselves and run your base for you to eliminate most of the grind. And its not even a high-level thing, you can do it right from the beginning.
3. You can swap any attack/move each pal has for even other elemental attacks. So your favorite creature can be a full water attack set but be a fire type.
4. You don't lose your creatures to death unless you decide to kill them yourself. They just passout pokemon style and you can get them healed to come back and be used again. Its great.

But to be fair to both, Ark has a Magmasaur, Velonosaur, a Mek, Reaper Queen, Tek Drones, Extinction's Defence Unit and Enforcer, Titans, a noglin... why cant at least 1 dino be used to automate any tasks, or atleast a Tek robot that takes things out of your refiner and puts it into a storage box next to it? So many games are doing it now.
"Why does it fly?" That's easy to answer. Because with all the railways, you need a place to build your base. There won't be enough free real estate to have more than one base location.

Well, according tô my experience on evolved, you Will probably be able to summon It with console commands, even If you dont have that DLC bought. Atleast It Works this way with ark. Since It doesnt really matter If the files are on the game. And generally they always are because people on multiplayer can have the crab, and you need to render It or else the game would be Just bugged. So as long as It is on the game files, its spawnable
yeah i played vanilla ark and was able to summon nearly every DLC creature
why can't they just stick to cosmetic passes, adding exclusive dinos behind paywalls is eventually going to lead to a must-have dino being pay to win

@@No_name8374 I disagree, almost every creature is attainable for free on curated maps. The story map + ~5 new unique creatures has always been the formula for wildcard. Putting a single creature behind a paywall is a far cry from their usual DLC releases.

@@zizugaga4729Map and Item DLCs are how it's been for most of the IP so far bcs most dlc creatures are available on a free map and the items do make a difference in PVP but nothing compared to how insane some creatures can be. If they were specifically locked behind its own pay wall it's going to ruin the whole schtoyle of the game. Imagine if the T Rex or similar meta combat creature was 20 dollars in and of itself. Then you have to buy that and you'll have to buy any more powerful creature that they release. I would rather it be on free maps and just be an absolute pita to tame and I own all the dlcs. Just saying this game works for casual players too until devs get greedy and people make it too sweaty.

Yea and it’s been like 5 months or smth. Really disappointed! I have a 3060, which most of the time can run every game at highest setting with 70 fps. Now there’s ark ascended, and I can’t even really play on medium.

It may be, but it is a next gen game. So you would need a next gen grapbics card to run in. Or atleast a beast of a graphics card. Theres no real optimization problems here. At one point, a game is just too good looking for normal gpu's and theres no optimization in the world that could fix that.
Only lucky ones could play Ark:SE when it first came out. Poor opti. is basically part of the game.

@@zerk813 i mean, neither is Ark. But after spending like 2000 hours in ark with 99% of those hours just grinding for gear so I can use it against someone or a boss for about 1% of the time, Palworld feels like a breath of fresh air for the survival genre.
Palworld makes most of your time more enjoyable by taking a lot of the grind out by making the creatures you take work for you and letting you spend more time fighting creatures, catching creatures, fighting NPCs, exploring the map, exploring more dungeons with loot, leveling up and upgrading gear, etc.
Honestly, I still like Ark for the multiplayer aspect with friends and still have a server going, but its mechanics feel like the bare-minimum now. The contrast in QoL, features, mechanics and AI really show how old Ark really is.
I mean just imagine your 50 of your bigger Dino’s just stomping around, shaking the earth itself just to gather a couple of trees and mine 3 small pebbles off the shore

Bro. I really hope palworld end game is mostly breeding and taming to fight in pal vs pal battles. I think ark type of raids would ruin it. But competitive team build based combat between pals would be insane.

ASA is a Remaster of game that was still relevant, for money. Thays what pisses a lot of people off, and the Devs just keep being full of scandals and shitty choices.
Palworld is a breath of fresh air tbh and sure not as much content as Ark, but Ark has gotten 7 years head start and is still kind of the same. Some argue it's made worse by Tek tier.
Pal world actually have 38% of all players in game start, so you know, that game os dying

I’m a single player and I love this creature looks amazing and is a natural nice addition to ASA!! I like the flying idea. Makes it an interesting mobile oasis.

@@blanchette01 Its called early access you bob. Ark was always a Dino survival game in space. There is not 1 compagny out there that first develops the game and then decides to add in the storyline as they goes.
In early access the island was already an Ark in space, there is an implant, There were engrams, There were obelisks etc. etc.
You bobs always wanna bring it to TEK. but there were already 1000001 things around you that cleary showed that this was never a PRIMITIVE survival game in space. That whole sentence already doesnt make sense.

I've always defended Wildcard's choice to make ASA a paid release. they spent so much time on it, and it wouldn't make sense to give it for free because it wouldn't be just a massive sunk cost. plus you basically the original game and all the DLC for the price of the original ASE. however this paid Bobs tale DLC is just fucking bullshit and i've given up trying to defend WC.
