Tuesday Tidbits, March 21, 2023: How To Make a Bed Quilt That Fits

  • This week, we're going to get our "math" on! It's time to make quilts that actually fit the bed they are intended for because no one likes a short or narrow quilt on the bed! There are some questions that need to be asked before starting, but trust us, it is so much nicer when the quilt fits the bed!
We're also going to address how to figure out how much backing you need to purchase for your quilt. Again, with some simple tools in your belt, you can figure out what you need and not over or under-buy.
We're also adding some new Stash Builders to the website. You guys had so much fun with the last group, we decided to toss more out there.
    Have a great week!

Good morning ladies. The highlight of any Tuesday morning is tuning in to your TH-cam channel to see what y’all be talkin’ about. This week was just what the doctor ordered. The “MATH” class was a phenomenal reference tool. I have been waiting to plan my first bed quilt for my first grandchild’s queen-size bed. The butterfly fabric is perfect for her favorite color selection. Off to your website…thanks so much! 🧵🪡💕🥰

Good morning! Thank you so much for the “math” behind backings. It is super helpful to a newer quilter like me!❤

Absolutely love the fabrics you chose for the bundles. I’m color/pattern challenged😊😊

What is your wall color? (Not the question you expected!) Really like! Good info.

Fun question. Those colors have been on the wall for a bit, so don’t have the paint cans to check any more. The first room is a soft green that has just a hint of blue in it.. the second room has 2 walls a warm gold and the other 2 walls 2 shades deeper (I have a soft spot for gold tones)

Do you have a brick and mortar store or just online?

In other words, you want the quilt to not be like quilt/blanket of old. You want it to REPLACE a “bedspread “ or comforter!

Hmmmm…I do use my quilts like a blanket, but I want it to completely cover the mattress and look nice on the bed. Not hard to have your cake and eat it too😁
