Nothing worked so I went back to Best Buy and exchanged the headset with the receipt(it's only 6 months old). Come home, update the headset and still had all the same issues. I finally came across this video and thought this guy was my hero cuz he found an issue NO ONE else mentioned!! Props for this video btw bro! & After watching this video I went out and bought one of those cords. My headset STILL keeps disconnecting all the time! That's when it finally decides to kinda connect briefly too. 😞 Any help at all would be extremely appreciated!!!

This helps a lot because at first I was worried it was my sound card for my hyperx cloud 2 and I would have to pay 30 dollars to fix which I did not want to do. I did safe mode and rebuild the database and works again not cutting off every 5 minutes.

Hey! I dont have external hardrive that could cause any interference. The only things i have is the DS4 charger and usb dongle for base station astro a50. Bought them just now because i thought my hyper X headset was broke. But it seems my USB ports make this happen. Could the charge cable cause interference you think? It only randomly disconnects for 2 secs and insta reconnects. Blew out the dust today and had a smooth gaming session but i think its just a lucky day lol. Some days it happens and somedays it doesnt. I wonder whats ur opinion on my problem. Cheers buddy

Sorry to say , but the problem simply HAS to be something else !! Maybe firmware update or something in the USB port themselves . Im no expert , but if a PS4 keeps bringing up a message that the HEADSET disconnects ( even though I never had one in the first place) and I dont use an external HDD. Neither one of these can cause the problem imho. I even disconnected my tv receiver in case that might cause interference , NO DICE . In other words , no clue what the REAL problem is , and thus clueless on how to fix it :( Thank you for the suggestion and great video though :) Hopefully it helps some players out there , but my problem alas still persists and cannot be "fixed" by your solution . Had hoped I had finally found an answer to my problem ( sad face)
That sounds like an actual problem with your headset. The issue he's describing in the video doesn't pull up any message on the screen or anything, it's referring to the headset just going quiet while there's interference with the headset receiver, which is why it flashes really fast like that.

Do you have a charging cable plugged in next to it. I had a hard drive which I moved to the back of my Pro but then I had a USB charging cable plugged in and once I removed that it pretty much stopped.

I'm pretty pissed. So your basically telling me I have to spend more money on a USB cord just get it working. I'm pretty disappointed. I spent 100 dollars on turtle Beach and they keep doing that while playing with friends. This is ridiculous.
That had happened to me it's easy to fix if there is no audio then hold down the ps button and go to controller volume don't press it bc I can't remember what the section is called but go under it and select it then there should be all audio and a different option if it's on all audio switch it to the other option

Just a helpful pointer. It disconnects when ur playing wireless controller but doesn't when your playing with wired controller. These head sets are a pretty big scam ngl
Easy fix would be to put on the box:" do not plug USB dongle in next to a plugged in hard drive" took me over a year and one returned "faulty" headset that was not faulty I mean ffs would cost 2¢ to print in on the box🤣
If you want to save 4 minutes out of your life, go to 4:45 for the fix.

I have this same issue on ps4 pro with ext hdd plugged into the rear. i have even used a usb powered hub as many folks have recommended.
You need to use a 2.0 cable so it doesn't interfere with the frequency
my dongle dont make any light ( platinum headset ) what the problem

You cant have 2 3.0 devices or it will cut out

try turn off broadcasting 2.4ghz wifi on your router.. might router too near the ps4 cause the interference..
