so doing this on a private server.. I repaired everything but the fusion core.. fast travelled back to the plant so I didn't have to find my way out.. it then bugged and made me repair everything ALL OVER AGAIN... so I did that.. came outside.. and been trying to figure this out now for about 20-30 minutes until I found your video.. thanks!!!!!

Thank you so, so much. Seriously.
I just wanted to mention that this trick ALSO works for Sunshine Meadows Industrial Farm (food processing plant) quest.
You just do the same exact thing after turning on the power plant by: attaching a power conduit to the wall, connect wall to power box, power box to the food processing plant machine.
Voila, quest complete!

Thanks, I was so confused. All the other vids I saw were just like "power up the plant and the processor will give you cores!" I really needed cores so I was about to be not happy if I spent an hour turning on the plant and like 60 caps claiming and defending the plant. I'm a new player so 60 caps isn't a tiny amount for me lol

That is what is SUPPOSED to happen. That power box is supposed to provide 400 units of power once the reactor is fully repaired (100 if it's only repaired enough to finish the quest). I've played this game since the Beta, and that bug has been around this entire time.

Yes, many times. All that terminal does is unlock the door it is next to.
