Excellent tutorial and never knew how powerful and easy to use this sequencer is! On wish list for next year to pair with my Vector and other sequencers. I think it is in top sequencers for Eurorack next to 512 Vector, Erica Synths Black Sequencer and Winter Modular Eloquencer.
Cool video! Do you know how to create swing for the clock like those in drum machines? I find adjusting the ticks (e.g. 7-5 instead of 6) doesn’t sound quite natural. Also, how do you use cv glide and cv glide step?
CV glide and CV glide step are 'effects' that you can use per step when entering notes into a pattern. xor-electronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/nerdseq_manual_1_25.pdf (page 27)
Its a very powerful sequencer and love all these features. Two things. Is there a tool that can be used on your laptop to program it? I am also concerned about the quality of momentary buttons and their longevity. Editing and controlling involves lots of button presses and just wondering is all. I PC connection would help that in certain situations.
Sound like mechanical keyboard keyswitches (almost positive, based on the sound); which by todays standards, are rated for millions of button-presses lol. Even the cheaper manufacturers switches are good for around 5-750,000±.
They're Tendrils Right Angled. Very good cables, like them a lot. Not sure if it would shut the lid with them patched but maybe, on their site they list the max height of them.
They're made by a company called Tendrils. I ordered direct to their site, i'm in the US and they're in Australia so shipping was like 3 weeks but I wanted specific colors they didn't sell at US distributors. Great cables.
The keys on this thing sound so satisfying. Seems very simple to use as well
This is the sequencer I've been dreaming of, brilliant!
Love the NerdSeq! Nice walkthrough.
Hate to say it, seems like a lot of useful info. 1 major issue: Your clacking/smacking of the nerdseq keys takes over my whole brain. Thank you.
Thanks for the video! Did you try Hermod? I’d be curious for pros and cons between those two.

Does the midi record function record unquantized? So as you played the melody? Or does it lock to the grid/steps
I’d have to double check but I think it locks to the steps.
What kind of patch cords are those? I wanna shut my intellijel lid. Are those ok? Also got a Nerd and wanna use it more.

Where did you get these ankled patch cables?

Man, I wish they had called it "copy and paste" instead of "mark and copy" I would get mixed up from PC terminology at least at first.
Can this generate sound without other synths?
Technically yes but you’d want something else. It has a basic sampler and synth engine.
If you want a tracker that makes sound, you can look at the dirtywave m8
1010 music Black box is a pretty powerful sequencer/ sampler/ slicer.
Key clicks so distracting
