I bought my first KLR a couple months ago. I was completely blown away by its cornering ability. I toss it back and forth in the twisties beyond the speed limit and its easy and stable. No powering out of the corners obviously but it handles.
Hey I bought a softail as my first bike to teach me but I'm finding out that most of the places I want to go I really want something like the klr650. I'll ride my softail off road but it's not fun lol. I still plan on doing highway rides but what kind of tires did you run the dragon with? It seems you were kinda aggressive, more aggressive than I thought you could ride with off road/at tires. Or do at tires handle riding roads like that?
I was running shinko 804/805's on the tail. If you listen closely you can hear pegs grinding in the curves, these big block tires really grab well. I have tusk d sport adv now and they will absolutely not let me grind pegs but offroad is an animal.
@@georgianian yea I could hear that. There's some similar spots on the west side of TN where I'm at that are like the tail. I've started grinding pegs on my softail so I've gotten better at leaning to stop grinding.
The KLR does very well on the Tail. I had a 2011 that was loads of fun there. 🐲🐲
Excellent video and Riding
2:04… Scrap 👍🏻😎👍🏻🏆
Thumper keeping up!

That's quite impressive to scrape pegs on a KLR! I am scared to lean mine that far lol
Impressive 👏 👏 👏, never seen anyone do that kind of riding on a KLR. Stay safe

@@georgianian I'll definitely check out shinko, I have shinko on my softail and they have been nothing but reliable in bad road conditions.
Last time i scraped pegs on my klr i popped a tire. Sheared the valve stem clean off.
What tires you running?
Shinko 804/805
@@georgianian I run the 705’s, are the 805 the big knobbys ?
@slalomking yeah the 805's are big blocks, do really well for me but can be slick offroad
Did i hear a few peg scrapes??
Grinded them down to a nice angled edge 😂
Yes, I do believe you heard correctly
