I caught my first sea fish yesterday (54cm Aussie Salmon) thanks to your guidance and I just want to say thank you for all your videos and inspiration.
Hi Roger my name is Alston, I watch your videos from sunny Jamaica 🇯🇲 in the Caribbean with my two sons, 2 and 4 years old. Yeah man, fish on, happy new year and one love.
When my Pilchard is cut up like that (10:42) it's usually Crabs that are the culprit. What I've been doing lately (if the crabs are a problem) is to replace my stinger hook with a Surf Popper. That helps to float the bait off the bottom, away from the crabs.
Thanks Rog, was down south a couple months ago and had some decent success off the beach thanks to your tips. Would love to see some salmon fishing in Alaska
Caught a 44 cm skippy from the Wilson inlet last weekend. The guy next to me caught a 50 cm skippy. The bigger the skippy the more golden it was on the back tail and fins. I think they pick up the colour from tannins in the water.
Love your content Roger it's helped me with fishing alot as a young 23 yr old could definitely use all the help 😂 actually caught my first snapper today aswell 35cm
Relocating to the US from AU shortly myself and would love to see vids from you there. Most of the beach fishing content from there seems to be Florida/Carolinas for Blue Fish, Pompano and Striped Bass. Would be good to have some insight from you!
Another good video Roger. I'm learning more about gutters and where to cast each video. The USA? Two suggestions (amongst many!!) I have fished Lost Lake in Oregon at about 3500ft elevation. It was cool and I got sun burnt. Bounded by Volcanic Mountains and a scenic wonder. Brown and Rainbow trout. Whilst there check out Crater Lake a wonder of the world. Then Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts Full of Striped bass at 20lbs and Bluefish (tailor) very big and plenty at 10lbs. Also near the Mayflower landing there in 1620 at Plymouth Rock. Good beach there. I could guide you for a fee!!
I am still learning from each of your sessions. Great idea on the US trip. I'm sure the huge audience over there will see an explosion in your viewer numbers, especially with an Aussie, Dundee type like you hauling their favourite fish out. I'm not really interested in fishing overseas, but you never know, you might just "hook" me. Good Luck Roger.
@Roger Osborne I think it would be great if you did a fishing safari around Australia. Would love to join you for a fishing session at my local beach. Hervey Bay, QLD.
I'm a big fan of the channel from the UK over here visiting my son & family in Central Coast. Yesterday caught a fat 64 cm Australian Salmon and followed your Thai fishcake recipe. Pretty good. Problem is I caught another today so I seem to be living on fishcakes! Looking forward to catching a few species.
Love your videos Roger, you mentioned you were recently in Sydney,on the northern beaches, where were you fishing,my favourite spot is north narrabeen beach just near the creek run out.have a great weekend
Hi Roger nice beach I was there last week and caught 2 Skippy 😉 US trip sounds great, also I think a fishing trip in defferent parts of Aussie would be good too🐟🎣
hi,roger. we also having problem with fish on the bite! we live on kwa zulu natal coast in south africa, even the guys fishing out on the reafs with ski boats ,are having a hard time. i am wondering if its not due to global warming of the sea? i fish only eastuary and harbour and mostly actual baits such as squid & pilchards. Normaly at this time of year we have a lot of fish on the move. but the last year or so,its been poor pickings!!
With migratory birds (muttonbirds?) dead-from-exhaustion washing up on the beaches these past few weeks, I’ve been wondering whether the quietness on the fishing beaches is due to the fish feeding on the birds’ carcasses still floating around offshore.
Yea the problem with the fishing in nsw atm is the water temp i find when fishing the lake and channel atm the run out tide will produce a few fish, soon as the tide changes it's gorne the water temp the other day was 18 degrees even out wide its been shit.
@RogerOsborneFishing yer trevs and bream like the colder water, whiting once it gets around 20 plus they'll start chewing there heads off. Keep up the good work Roger
I use the stinger set up from you video and it’s Aweosme . Generally speaking what size sinker do u usually use for your beach fishing and what type 🤷♂️
Well fed fish don't bite much is a common explanation - stuffed to the gills already. A spawning event can result in this or a migration of a food source.
There's quite a nice beach just to the north of where you are, and if you can cast into a deep gutter there's oftent the "catch of the day" .... don't be tempted to cast out too far 😂
Would love to see you fish some of the USA beaches!!! The coastal Carolinas are very popular beaches here. It will be interesting to see if there are beach worms here!
Shovel nose sharks are very nice to eat , try one I think you will be surprised , I know I was at how tasty it is , its better than Aussie salmon to me !
Yea iam not a big fan of circle hooks. Been cleaning up on the prawns in the last 2x prawn runs, the crabs have been good in my erea atm both muddies and blue swimmers.
Roger: "Would my Australian audience like to learn about fishing in the USA..." Me after pausing video: "ONLY IF IT'S NEVER ABOUT BASS!!! Every USA youtube fishing video seems to be about bass." Restart video... Roger: "There's bass..." Me: "NOOO!!!"
I have used circle hooks offshore- beach- estuary ect they work great you cant strike with them and the fish needs to inhale the bait for them to work and when the hook sets in the mouth the fish cannot bite you off.
Would love you to fish WA south coast 🎣 Margaret River Accomodation / Van & 4WD parking behind gate included for you & your wife if your keen, warm up for the States ??!
Hi Roger ..half way into clip I had to stop and suggest to you that possibility ur 4 .O is way too large this tym around ...first tym in over a year watching you strike for fiercely but not even a fish yet..I cant believe it ..😮😢a torture 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤but best of luck ..let me continue watching ...I lost my voice by shouting like for over 10 mins from my fone speaker for you to change hook size or maybe you got another rig on other rods❤❤❤❤
he has 2 courses that are like 20 videos each; one on catching worms and another on beach fishing. Also does live QnA sessions every two weeks, with a lesson attached to it. Also does some other special events and you get access to his book.

That's awesome, well done!
All you need now is a stingray and you will be up there with Roger😂😂😂😂 sorry Roger i couldn't help myself lol
So helpful mate! Great info and always good insights that really help all anglers. Keep it up.
Glad to help!
Here in WA we call Trevallly Skippy as in Skipjack Trevally👍
Hi Roger my name is Alston, I watch your videos from sunny Jamaica 🇯🇲 in the Caribbean with my two sons, 2 and 4 years old. Yeah man, fish on, happy new year and one love.
I’m from your Australian audience and love your videos. It would be awesome to see you fishing in the USA and exploring the fish there.
Cheers mate, appreciate the support

Merry Christmas to you and your family Roger.
Thanks for the knowledge, entertainment and inspiration.
Would love to see you in the States. Thanks Roger
Thanks a lot 😊👌🎣
Always great content Roger. I think Roger's USA fishing tour sounds good.
You are Welcome to come, I would watch you no matter where you fish!!!😊
That's great to hear, cheers!
Thanks Rog, was down south a couple months ago and had some decent success off the beach thanks to your tips.
Would love to see some salmon fishing in Alaska
Yes... That would be great for you to come over here and have a go at our gulf beaches and of course our lakes and streams.
When you coming to South Africa East Coast. You will really enjoy it
Thanks guys, I love South Africa. The beaches are very similar to our beaches over here.
I'm from Texas, but live in NSW now, and would love to see you do some fishing in the US.
Thanks mate.
Yeah Roger! Go to see. Sasha in the US and do a bit of fishing over there. It’s different - would be very interesting to see your take on it.
in south africa,we call the shovel nose , a guitar fish
Your vids are certainly inspiring but for me I just love using the Alvey reel - plain, simple and robust - each to their own.
I'm a big fan of the simplicity of the Alvey reel too!
Yay! Beach fishing!!
Go for it mate
Love your "normal" beach fishing videos.
Thanks mate, I'm glad you like them!
Caught a 44 cm skippy from the Wilson inlet last weekend. The guy next to me caught a 50 cm skippy. The bigger the skippy the more golden it was on the back tail and fins. I think they pick up the colour from tannins in the water.
Sounds like you had a great day out fishing!
Love your content Roger it's helped me with fishing alot as a young 23 yr old could definitely use all the help 😂 actually caught my first snapper today aswell 35cm
Great to hear! Good stuff mate
Love your videos and enjoying all your tips. Please remember there are fisherwomen as well as fishermen ... thanks
Thanks Roger 👍
A nice video as always.
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind for future videos.
Hi Roger, here in WA we call trevelly "Skippy's" short for Skipjack Trevelly. Keep fishing away, enjoy your videos.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the info.
Another good video Roger. I'm learning more about gutters and where to cast each video.

Hi Stephen, 64cm is a nice Salmon. Hope you have a great time in Oz.
Love your videos Roger, you mentioned you were recently in Sydney,on the northern beaches, where were you fishing,my favourite spot is north narrabeen beach just near the creek run out.have a great weekend
Cheers, North Narrabeen is a great spot!
Hi Roger nice beach I was there last week and caught 2 Skippy 😉 US trip sounds great, also I think a fishing trip in defferent parts of Aussie would be good too🐟🎣
Thanks David, I'm blessed with lots of possible adventures.
I fished NSW beaches for 25 years and I found that October November was always very lean.
Okay, thanks Mark.
hi,roger. we also having problem with fish on the bite! we live on kwa zulu natal coast in south africa, even the guys fishing out on the reafs with ski boats ,are having a hard time. i am wondering if its not due to global warming of the sea? i fish only eastuary and harbour and mostly actual baits such as squid & pilchards. I believe when the beaches are very quiet it can be when a lot of the table fish spawn up the rivers .
Okay, could be.
With migratory birds (muttonbirds?) dead-from-exhaustion washing up on the beaches these past few weeks, I’ve been wondering whether the quietness on the fishing beaches is due to the fish feeding on the birds’ carcasses still floating around offshore.
That would be awesome if you came to Dash Point in Federal Way or Saltwater state park in Des Moines, Washington! I bet your rigs would do well !
Thanks Buddy.
Yea the problem with the fishing in nsw atm is the water temp i find when fishing the lake and channel atm the run out tide will produce a few fish, soon as the tide changes it's gorne the water temp the other day was 18 degrees even out wide its been shit.
The water is freezing we need a good South wind to push warm water from the shelf back in
Maybe that's why there is still some Trevally around.
@RogerOsborneFishing yer trevs and bream like the colder water, whiting once it gets around 20 plus they'll start chewing there heads off. Keep up the good work Roger
Hi Roger! What size sinker do you use.
Hi Roger, great vid as always! Can I ask is there particular spots I should look out for if I want to throw metal jigs on the beach?
Cast the edges of where white water meets deep water.
I use the stinger set up from you video and it’s Aweosme . Generally speaking what size sinker do u usually use for your beach fishing and what type 🤷♂️
Usually, a size 2 or 3 star sinker.
The fishing is also dead in Adelaide as well, went 3 times to 3 different spots and caught one barely legal sand crab on a whiting rig
😂👌 muito bem Roger ✌️🐟🐠🐟🐠
What's a Pay team...???
Nice to have met you in Complete Angler a few weeks ago...
PAIS is a Christian Youth Organization
I like your film's
Currently at beach, just did a shesh, 3 takes on soft plastic, did not land anything. Nice day at the beach......
Hi Denise, thanks for sharing.
Well fed fish don't bite much is a common explanation - stuffed to the gills already. A spawning event can result in this or a migration of a food source.
Thanks Terry.

Thanks, mate, how far north?
Great beach fishing on California!
Okat thanks Darioso
Roger that would be your biggest chalange, see how good you would be in our kwa zulu natal waters.
how about coming to south africa to teach us ?? ( richards Bay).
Sand crabs eating your bait that’s why you didn’t get a bite but it feels “heavy”.
Come to Southern California 😊
Would love to see you fish some of the USA beaches!!! The coastal Carolinas are very popular beaches here. It will be interesting to see if there are beach worms here!
I would love to, hopefully I can get over there sometime soon.
Would be interesting to see Roger pulling pompano and different kind of whiting.
Thanks Samantha.
Would love to
Go down to Eastern Cape south africa and hook on to a 100kg bronzi and hold on lol
Shovel nose sharks are very nice to eat , try one I think you will be surprised , I know I was at how tasty it is , its better than Aussie salmon to me !
Yes Roger we will lend you to them, hahaha .Enjoy yourself mate .
Thanks John
Yea iam not a big fan of circle hooks. Been cleaning up on the prawns in the last 2x prawn runs, the crabs have been good in my erea atm both muddies and blue swimmers.
Sounds great Bob
You know you can eat the shovel nose too. Quite a few people do so.

Yer Roger some people love circle hooks me personally I hate them
I have used circle hooks offshore- beach- estuary ect they work great you cant strike with them and the fish needs to inhale the bait for them to work and when the hook sets in the mouth the fish cannot bite you off.
Would love you to fish WA south coast 🎣 Margaret River Accomodation / Van & 4WD parking behind gate included for you & your wife if your keen, warm up for the States ??!
Don't mess with Texas!
There must be some good fishing there?
Hi Roger ..half way into clip I had to stop and suggest to you that possibility ur 4 .O is way too large this tym around ...first tym in over a year watching you strike for fiercely but not even a fish yet..I cant believe it ..😮😢a torture 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤but best of luck ..let me continue watching ...I lost my voice by shouting like for over 10 mins from my fone speaker for you to change hook size or maybe you got another rig on other rods❤❤❤❤
was that a Trump dance at the beginning?
Haha
Wa is also fishing crap atm
