as someone woi main a deadeye from the start of this game and then swapped to gunslinger i can say the Devs had a talk with deadeye mains and they took all that feedback and just made the gunslinger , its everything you wanted in a deadeye but i still main both . they are so similar but so different at the same time its kinda crazy tbh
Switching from PM to TTH was best decision I made. I play Swiftness TTH and the uptime of sniper skills is so high I essentially do 2 sniper rotations instead of a sniper + shotgun rotation I would with PK. There is of course a more bursty Spec TTH variant if you like bigger numbers in exchange for mobility/speed. Also having I less gun to switch between is nice if you don't have best ping and it also allows you to be more focused on boss patterns.
Actually TTH with full swift and dominion set is one of the highest ceilings of the class so it's just the matter of dealing with animation lock because they are still quite long even at 1800 swift

Been a gs main since the western launch, and the class really received a huge boost to performance with the addition of dmg to the shotgun bonus from PM. I'm glad I bought all my class books before you dropped this video. xD
Lots of classes have animation lock, I see people post stuff like this a lot though. Sorc I have 4 abilities that ask me to stand in place and they do 0 damage prior to completion unlike say Target down or Focused Shot which do at least something prior to the final hit. Classes like Destroyer, Blade, Lance, etc there are so many classes that ask you to stay still in order to get your damage out. I will admit though, Gunslinger without yearning and without giving yourself the atk speed buff can be spooky. Luckily though I find that when you are fully buffed up you can get out your combinations incredibly fast.
classes like sorcs are a given though to have animation locks since they’re literally “mages” would be weird if didn’t have any. I assume you used ignition sorc since that’s the class with most animation lock: but you generally don’t do damage anyway since you wanted to wait for your identity, though your classes does have animation lock, you only need to land a few of them. Obviously you want to push in as much doomdays as possible, and that’s made a lot easier with animation cancel, GS don’t have this. GS lock is annoying, bc in order to actually do damage, she actually needs to land all her initial hits and finial hit for dual buckshot and sharpshooter for the stacks for full damage potential, and for rifle skill, the only hard skill to hit is focused, this is hard bc you can’t maneuver it around, and it only does full damage on direct hit, and is easily dodge since it’s a narrow straight line, similar to her shotgun except the aoe is smaller and infront of her. And you can’t animation cancel due since it would just end the skill entirely. Even if you do play her perfectly, it’s still hard for her to get MVP as said by ATK. And her class being required to switch back and forth between weapons for synergies just make it that much harder which I like. TTM is a lot easier, and does a bit more damage, but I like the complexity.
Initially in february i thought i'd main sorcerer, but Gunslinger totally stole the thunder. The class is so cool, never thought of changing mains since.
I made a gun slinger as my 9th character. Im replaying the leveling experience and its quite fun. Just doing the main quests though. I have 8 t3s. needed a break from the grind. Replaying the dungeons makes me wish they made mythic plus dungeons like wow for all the dungeons in the game. Would be recyclable repayable content.

That's what I did on the first playthrough. I just love to feel a connection to the game I am playing, and to see everyone gather up in South Vern as tej result of your work was pretty nice. But don't do Mokokos without a map if you want to do them, no need to torture yourself.
In my opinion PM is 100% Gunslinger and TTH is just 66% Gunslinger. So if you want to play Gunslinger you play PM. With TTH you completly delete the close Range option for the class which is why I love teh class so much. The constant change between close range and range with your mobility skills to utilize all your Cooldowns is just a bliss.
unfortunately doing more setup/positioning to get off your damage cycle is literally a total 180 in the opposite direction from what the devs of this game are designing. that is why u constantly feel like u put in so much more effort for less. at the end of the day thats just how it is.
i had a similar experience like this with scrapper where i didnt like it at first but after me playing for a while i went back to it and its one of my favourites now

TTH is weaker in stagger and destruction than PM. Also as TTH you'll crit a LOT more often than PM. PM: Has a higher damage ceiling than TTH if played perfectly, so you can say it deals more damage overall. However you may see a lot more white numbers in comparison to TTH. PM also has the better stagger + destruction because it has the shotgun skills. In a short burst window, you'll most likely be outperformed by TTH. You are way more vulnerable as PM because your shotgun skills make you get animation locked most of the time, while TTH can freely run around while rifle skills are on CD. Both are great, both have ups and downs and more things I didn't talk about here (watch ATK's video on GS for the complete comparison). If you were to play perfectly 100% of the time and make no mistakes what so ever, then PM is your best bet it'll deal more dmg than TTH, but even then you may still be outperformed by TTH if you are not blessed by RNG gods and not crit on your skills. Just pick what's more fun to you.
there is a lot of misinformation in this 1. pm doesnt mean you will see more white numbers, optimal pm build is 100% crit rate on shotguns and 90% on rifles. actually crit/spec TTH has lower overall crit rate than a correctly build pm. 2. people seems to think having 1600+ spec means double rifle damage, that is not the case. spec scaling on gunslinger is terribad, and you will likely only see few mil more damage on rifles on spec tth build. also spec tth has less damage engravings because they need to run one lvl3 class engraving + pm1 only real advantage of spec TTH is its easier to play to get the higher end of the class potential. not to mention spec TTH accessory prices could be double or triple the cost of a proper pm build. and without yearning support, you will start to rethink your decisions in life. did i mention downtime? if you want big numbers, reroll to igniter sorc

I deleted my Gunslinger a long time ago, and I decided to make another onr after watching Caf (about a week before you made yours). I ended up choosing the same build as Caf because I wanted Spec, but I didn't want it to be crazy expensive like Spec/Cr. I so far am 1445 1625 Spec/486 Swift, 2pc Preo/2pc Hallu all level 7 damage and working on CD's, with 5x3 (Grudge/Hit/TTH/KBW/Adren 2/PM1). I cruel fighter regularly against strong classes (most likely a player diff) anywhere from 45-63% Cruel on Deska and I have managed Cruel in raids as well. As for why I chose it, the DPS inside your burst is noticeably higher than PM, the numbers look nice, stance dancing can be done much more instinctively, books were cheap, ATK has said numerous times that TTH is a better option than PM for NA (not saying PM is bad by any means). For those curious about where I am getting the bit about the TTH vs PM DPS windows, there is a KR video that compares them in a simulated raid setting. It's translated on the Gunslinger Guide Google Doc which you can access through the Lost Ark Discord. It ended up that TTH packs about 11m DPS into a window that perfectly lines up with support buffs or consumeables, and 7m PM requires 18s to get off their full damage. For me I wanted to be able to hear, "Buffs going out" and then just drop my damage inside that window. Combine that with the range that you get from TTH and everything else I mentioned it just struck me as the right choice for ME. I may think about having a PM build that I can mess with on the side because so far this character is one of my top 3. I deliberately just rerun Deska for nothing just because all my weekly content on her is done...would be nice if we didn't have the dumb ticket system.

gs was my 2nd alt. I originally hated playing her. She was difficult to play, and around legendary gear, her damage felt pretty smoge. But I decided to gear her up, and now she's probably one of my favorite alts to play
My main is still a sorc, but my secondary main is a gs. I made her a while ago and didnt really paid much attention to her, recently i rebuild my gs and i find myself loving to play as gs, tho my sorc still have the spotlight, Great class overall (might be cause i like the glass canon type of class)
Same here, I made a gs a while ago with the vern powepasses. My igniter sorc is my main, and gs since then has slowly become my main alt. With the tripod update I was able to get max lvl tripods on all skills and higher lvl gems with her. Add to that that the learning curve took a very long time for me, it was only recently that I absolutely loved her playstyle
well the TTH meta now is Dominion full swift tho... That's why the first guy said he wants TTH with ancient gear cuz you can get 1800 swift pretty easily then

Yesterday we tried to do g3 brel and the whole raid, 5-7 people dc'd every minute for 15 minutes straight and my guildmates reported the same even tho they were doing chaos dungeon and guardians and stuff
PM 3 Adre 3 is actually just as good if not better than the former CD 3 Adre 2 PM 1 build. Just a bit about preference and the difference is too small to justify swapping between the builds. Also the changes to PM allow for better usage of Adrenaline and crit stat wothout overcapping on shotgun.
The only down side to this class is it is not beginner friendly, you need almost all your skill points unlocked to get her viable. to play her well make sure you do horizontal content as much as your vertical content.
I have a friend that switched mains multiple times until he ended up with gs and told me it's the most fun class ever. Problem is I main 6 supports and have another 10 alt dps classes which a lot of them are just lopang slaves so I feel like I won't invest a lot into her build which probably won't be as fun to play. I will make one someday but still waiting until I have more gold and mats income
I will admit I made a gunslinger in beta and deleted it while leaving to 50. I remade it 2 months later and it’s slowly going from my 11th alt to main 6 lol
Might wanna sit back down before PTR changes in January. Then rise back up after, any class who are given a spolight in a big lost ark influencer/streamer's stream and perform exceptionally well are in danger of getting changes next balance patch, may be good or may be the worse outcome. This is my copium for nerfing certain classes heh..
The 25 weapon really boosts that focused shot number and is not real, im 23 wep 1530 with all 90+ quality n lvl 9 gems and i hit maybe 50mil with perfect syn and crit. I wish i was hitting 80+ everytime lmao.

Salvation feels way better imo and you don't have to worry about going until endless mana. Class 3 vs class 1 is negligible but you might swap in srf for ps. Check out the unofficial discord and community guide for more!

@@Corusame I agree partly but there are definitely classes which the community accepts more than others for content...thus your experience in those classes may be more "fun" because you get to play more. For example, my pally has no probs joining raids even when poorly kitted out. My DB will have a much easier time getting into a group over my sharpshooter when equally equipped. Pally is kinda boring to play, but I use him to learn all the high level raid content because groups will always let him in and if he dies, people are way more accepting. Just something to consider. Some people are pretty toxic in the game. There's been a number of times I have been "warned" or cussed out because I don't have full kit or engravings on just a PUG guardian raid. It's kind of ridiculous to be expected to be all kitted out when you have the min level to join the raid.
@@shredman59 yeah thats true for sure. I have a Paladin myself for the very same reason even if I do find his gameplay underwhelming. I'm a deadeye/reaper main so I avoid pugs where possible due to class gatekeeping. Luckily I'm in a conglomerate of guilds so usually have a static I can join.

Deadeye's will always have superior dps up close. It loses out on consistency being a back attacker though.

Zerker here (BT) ALL of my skill have LONG animation and I have to sit on the boss's ass T_T and all damage is back loaded, also pretty meh number

playing TTH means you dont have to position yourself for shotguns = really high uptime on your sniper skills. plus TTH can run swiftness

you can cancel shotgun animations by changing stances
Recently finished my gs with pm3 build 5x3. Its super fun and the numbers are huge. Really enjoyable gameplay

Both builds typically use PM 1 so it doesn't really matter
PM 3 Adre 3 is actually just as good if not better than the former CD 3 Adre 2 PM 1 build. Just a bit about preference and the difference is too small to justify swapping between the builds. Also the changes to PM allow for better usage of Adrenaline and crit stat wothout overcapping on shotgun.
Gunslinger is the best class? Always has been.
The only down side to this class is it is not beginner friendly, you need almost all your skill points unlocked to get her viable. to play her well make sure you do horizontal content as much as your vertical content.
I have a friend that switched mains multiple times until he ended up with gs and told me it's the most fun class ever. Problem is I main 6 supports and have another 10 alt dps classes which a lot of them are just lopang slaves so I feel like I won't invest a lot into her build which probably won't be as fun to play. I will make one someday but still waiting until I have more gold and mats income

Might wanna sit back down before PTR changes in January. Then rise back up after, any class who are given a spolight in a big lost ark influencer/streamer's stream and perform exceptionally well are in danger of getting changes next balance patch, may be good or may be the worse outcome. This is my copium for nerfing certain classes heh..

The 25 weapon really boosts that focused shot number and is not real, im 23 wep 1530 with all 90+ quality n lvl 9 gems and i hit maybe 50mil with perfect syn and crit. I wish i was hitting 80+ everytime lmao.

I’m main gs 1534 Ilvl 50% 25 25 nightmare set I love the class so much fun recently I been thinking about switching to salvation and go 1400 + crit 800 + spec dunno if it’s better and I don’t know which is better 1 class 2 adrenaline or 3 class
Salvation feels way better imo and you don't have to worry about going until endless mana. Class 3 vs class 1 is negligible but you might swap in srf for ps. Check out the unofficial discord and community guide for more!
If you take SRF and drop either perfect shot or bullet rain, you go for PM3
otherwise class 1 with 1300 crit is fine

too many nice classes, i have the same issue i got 10 characters all of them are 1460+, cant decide which 6 to main however GS is indeed in the top
@@wdadwdwdwadw8604 I'm in the same boat. 7 chars, all 1415+. I realize my main is gimped because I have spent so much gold and pheons on too many different characters, but I just cant decide. (Scrapper, DB, Pally, Sorc, SH, Gunslinger, sharpshooter).

@@Corusame I agree partly but there are definitely classes which the community accepts more than others for content...thus your experience in those classes may be more "fun" because you get to play more. For example, my pally has no probs joining raids even when poorly kitted out. My DB will have a much easier time getting into a group over my sharpshooter when equally equipped. Pally is kinda boring to play, but I use him to learn all the high level raid content because groups will always let him in and if he dies, people are way more accepting. Just something to consider. Some people are pretty toxic in the game. There's been a number of times I have been "warned" or cussed out because I don't have full kit or engravings on just a PUG guardian raid. It's kind of ridiculous to be expected to be all kitted out when you have the min level to join the raid.
@@shredman59 yeah thats true for sure. I have a Paladin myself for the very same reason even if I do find his gameplay underwhelming. I'm a deadeye/reaper main so I avoid pugs where possible due to class gatekeeping. Luckily I'm in a conglomerate of guilds so usually have a static I can join.
