I guess this is the best video about French working environment I've seen in my search. At same time being a French person with international living experience boost you to provide more in depth insights. Thank you!!! While interested in experience FR (Paris mostly due to company location), I am still unsure about the working hours myth, since it is weird to stay at work if I am done with my activities. If one starts at 8-8:30, leaving at 5-5:30 seems to be seen strangely. The company itself has an office in DK, where starts early and leave 3-4pm is quite normal... I wonder how it is managed so to say ... Merci beaucoup!
Ik vind het goed dat Frankrijk er aan werkt om de taal zo Frans mogelijk te houden. Of dat het geëist/gewaardeerd wordt dat je de Franse taal kent. In Nederland praat inmiddels iedereen hun moedertaal en gebruiken Engelse woorden door elkaar heen en dat klinkt nergens naar. Wat ook irritant is dat er mensen in Nederland komen wonen en werken en na bijvoorbeeld 5 jaar de taal amper tot niet kennen want "ze hebben het toch niet nodig". Er zijn zelfs Nederlanders die zeggen dat ze de taal niet hoeven te leren want iedereen spreekt wel Engels. Dat getuigd in mijn ogen dat je geen respect hebt voor Nederland, de cultuur en de taal.
I agree with you! It doesn't make sense to me to live somewhere without making the effort to speak the language. At least, the Netherlands is doing a good job at attracting foreign workers, but I wish people would take more time to learn the local language. The locals need to encourage those efforts too!

Ah thanks for addressing these myths! They are present in so many cultural products like movies and tv shows. Are you familiar with Emily in Paris? How realistic would you say their portrayal of a Parisian PR office is?
Yeah, the French movies and TV shows that get made and exported definitely amplify these myths! It's even worse for American media about France 😅 I haven't watched Emily in Paris myself and I don't work in PR, but I've definitely heard a lot about the show. Mostly, French people have been criticizing it for being unrealistic and unrepresentative (namely in terms of the racial diversity in Paris).
I like your video. I don’t speak French very well. I am still trying to learn. Perhaps understand more and I can speak it. But try to be told, when ever I tried to communicate with French people while on Paris, I did experience exactly what you commented. Thanks/ merci beaucoup
Yes, it's a bit shocking actually how many employers (and employees in some cases) are so attached to working in the office, even now that it's unsafe and against the orders from the government! Haha the landscape almost looks too good to be true indeed! But it's all real 😎
