I agree, can't wait for the DLC and future patches. The fact that they fixed most of the initial issues so quickly at the beginning of the game's life just means that future updates could be geared for more quality of life and possibly generic costumes like male/female Pride Trooper or Kai uniforms 👀.
I hope they add tons of cosmetics and more story dlc cuz people always want to complain about something and if they fix all the stuff people still complain about I wonder what kind of things people will say next lol
There was a lot of fighters on the game. But there was like zero content to keep you locked in. Like the story mode is pretty shallow and the cut scenes are mid. Even the highly desirable what if stories are short. If they do a content drop where they add more story missions. I can see this game coming back.

One thing I noticed is that the game doesn’t feel as tight and concise as Tenkaichi 3 I’m pressing triangle to do my combos and they don’t register Switching characters is also a mess
You can’t move at all your stuck in an animation sometimes you might be able to vanish it do something but if someone is really good at it it’s almost impossible to escape at least for me it was

i love the game, ive played every Dragon ball game PS2 to PS5 an Sparking Zero in terms of gameplay is my favorite. it plays a lot like BT3 but with a few new stuff. the problem for me is there isn't enough content, like BT3 story mode wasn't anything special either, BT2 had a way better story but what BT3 had that Sparking doesn't is game modes

The mechanics in this game don’t work consistently down to the very controls and buttons for them. A quick time based game with inconsistent delay for online multiplayer? The game fights you as much as your opponent does online. And offline is short and not that replayable. The story has no cinematics or weight outside of the fights. This game is a polished turd and no amount of updates will change that. As a fan of the series I loved this game at first. Then after the honeymoon phase was over, I realized I have never played a game this weak.

The updates made the playability worse for me on Xbox. Yeah they balanced some of the cheese, but I have had more controller bugs since the updates than I did before and that really makes me want to not play the game. I will take 1000 unblockable Broly ultimates if it means when I press a button, my character does what that button is supposed to do. Idk what they changed in the networking and mechanics but online feels completely unplayable compared to offline. And offline doesn’t have shit for content. If you want to keep giving these companies more money for less game you are free to do so. I’m good on it though.

Here is how I look at it. Traditional fighters are fun because they’re competitive Arena fighters are fun because they are an ARENA fighter. This game is trying to be too competitive with mechanics that quite frankly make the game a complete counter fest to the point where it is pointless to combo people. You either vanish or Z counter to the win. I wish this game took itself less serious and would be what it is an Arena fighter which should be fun 1st. I was hoping for a more smash bros approach on top of what was built from past tenkaichi 3 and raging blast series. Like adding 2v2 or 3v3 along with an actual battle royal mode. Almost make this a party game. DBFighterZ was competitive and fun because it was a more traditional fighter.

The game is definitely not trash, but it is admittedly undercooked and lacking in a lot of areas when it comes to single player and the multi-player needs further refinement. I honestly think that it would not hurt to make an alternate mode that equalizes the stats of the characters would be healthy for the game. I still enjoy the game, but I will not gloss over it's bad issues.
They're not wrong about Sparking Zero. I'm sorry if 90% of the people who left SZ after two months, that pretty proves that it's a problem with the game. Xenoverse 1 had so many problems and yet not as bad as SZ and people stayed. The reason why SZ is different is because the game is broken to a nonsensical point. The combo bug is an issue, connects and disconnects in the most random moment, super attacks that still connects even if you miss the attack, bad health and damage scaling ect. I'm sorry I don't think that 90% of the fans are wrong. You want this game to be good? You want this game to get the same treatment as Fightsrz? Then it needs fixing.

Community ruined the reception of this game. Even content creators that love the game hurt it by using youtube tittles that put the game in a negative light for clicks because everyone decided to hop on the hate band wagon. But really the game is fantastic, people are CHOOSING to play weird and with spam for the sake of a letter rank. I think a ranked mode made the community implode. Only play player match singles and you get way more variety of characters and people that fight with respect. Still get spammers but thats fewer and far between.
It’s true the first 100 hours of my play time wasn’t ranked that’s why I had a better time first month I didn’t even touch ranked and I got alot better in just player matches
SZ is a mediocre fighting game with a play style that focus on relying too much on exploitable defensive mechanics such as perception and Z counter. It turns the battle into an endless back and forth between two players such as vanish wars, the ability to use Z-counter easily, revenge counter etc. It discourages combo and aggressive play. The recovery is pretty ass such as when you fall giving your opponent plenty of time to enter SZ. This game has far more exploitable strategies than a traditional fighter. It's not a game worth getting good at because it's not that fun to play. There's no way this shit is fun and honestly other fighting games like Tekken, BlazBlu etc. I don't care how popular it is and yeah the update fixes some things but the core gameplay is still the same. You can still do vanish wars without much difficulty, you can still use Z counters without much skill, it's still a spammy back and forth with high skill count recovery. You can still spam perception especially online. St least with BT3 you couldn't spam perception as there was a cool down, do multiple step ins for an insane basic combo, and the damage was more reasonably scaled in BT3. Plus the moves were presented with more impact with character super attacks whereas a lot of SZ's supers just kind of end. The encyclopedia doesn't have character biographies which is a waste. Additionally why can't we swap super attacks like in Raging Blast? They had the chance to combine the best elements of multiple games but we still have multiple copies of characters that aren't that different from each other. It'd be easier to just swap super attacks and ultimates like in Raging Blast do we don't have 5 versions of Goku. Also no costume variety? On a side note this game lacks offline modes too. BT3 had a more extensive tournament mode, Dragon SIM, Mission 100, Survival and some bonus modes from the older games. You should have good online and offline content but there isn't much to do in this game besides play ranked after Episode Mode and why even play ranked? It's trash plain and simple. I wanted a better version of BT3 not a worse version of it. Fuck this game. Let's continue the hate 🎉

Basing this more on the consoles that is exactly how it went, when we add steam it's a little different because people weren't usually buying these games on steam around that time but even so
Waaay more people bought sparking than all those games, there's no way going from 120k down to 22k down to 6k in only a few months is good.. the game is bleeding players despite it coming out
While the numbers are lower for the other games they had way less people buying them and their numbers are in a flow after initial launch or they have even started gaining more it's a clear difference and looking at it fairly from the lense of less people buying them excluding storm connections because that game has the same problem for basically the same reasons
Storm 4 and the others were very good in comparison so I would say the game is dead but maybe it would be more accurate to say dying, this game is straight up bleeding players

The game is definitely not trash, but it is admittedly undercooked and lacking in a lot of areas when it comes to single player and the multi-player needs further refinement.
I honestly think that it would not hurt to make an alternate mode that equalizes the stats of the characters would be healthy for the game.
I still enjoy the game, but I will not gloss over it's bad issues.
They're not wrong about Sparking Zero. I'm sorry if 90% of the people who left SZ after two months, that pretty proves that it's a problem with the game. Xenoverse 1 had so many problems and yet not as bad as SZ and people stayed. The reason why SZ is different is because the game is broken to a nonsensical point. The combo bug is an issue, connects and disconnects in the most random moment, super attacks that still connects even if you miss the attack, bad health and damage scaling ect. I'm sorry I don't think that 90% of the fans are wrong. You want this game to be good? You want this game to get the same treatment as Fightsrz? Then it needs fixing.
Xenoverse lost way more players than sparking zero 1,000 daily players on steam? So at most 3,000 on all platforms SZ has 12,000 the numbers don’t lie xenoverse has been broken with spam my Jacky glitches and it’s been years SZ was only out for two months it was popular to hate because big TH-camrs started talking trash it happens all the time

Community ruined the reception of this game. Even content creators that love the game hurt it by using youtube tittles that put the game in a negative light for clicks because everyone decided to hop on the hate band wagon. But really the game is fantastic, people are CHOOSING to play weird and with spam for the sake of a letter rank. I think a ranked mode made the community implode. Only play player match singles and you get way more variety of characters and people that fight with respect. Still get spammers but thats fewer and far between.

It’s true the first 100 hours of my play time wasn’t ranked that’s why I had a better time first month I didn’t even touch ranked and I got alot better in just player matches

SZ is a mediocre fighting game with a play style that focus on relying too much on exploitable defensive mechanics such as perception and Z counter. It turns the battle into an endless back and forth between two players such as vanish wars, the ability to use Z-counter easily, revenge counter etc. It discourages combo and aggressive play. The recovery is pretty ass such as when you fall giving your opponent plenty of time to enter SZ. This game has far more exploitable strategies than a traditional fighter. It's not a game worth getting good at because it's not that fun to play. There's no way this shit is fun and honestly other fighting games like Tekken, BlazBlu etc. I don't care how popular it is and yeah the update fixes some things but the core gameplay is still the same. You can still do vanish wars without much difficulty, you can still use Z counters without much skill, it's still a spammy back and forth with high skill count recovery. You can still spam perception especially online. St least with BT3 you couldn't spam perception as there was a cool down, do multiple step ins for an insane basic combo, and the damage was more reasonably scaled in BT3. Plus the moves were presented with more impact with character super attacks whereas a lot of SZ's supers just kind of end. The encyclopedia doesn't have character biographies which is a waste. Additionally why can't we swap super attacks like in Raging Blast? They had the chance to combine the best elements of multiple games but we still have multiple copies of characters that aren't that different from each other. It'd be easier to just swap super attacks and ultimates like in Raging Blast do we don't have 5 versions of Goku. Also no costume variety? On a side note this game lacks offline modes too. BT3 had a more extensive tournament mode, Dragon SIM, Mission 100, Survival and some bonus modes from the older games. You should have good online and offline content but there isn't much to do in this game besides play ranked after Episode Mode and why even play ranked? It's trash plain and simple. I wanted a better version of BT3 not a worse version of it. Fuck this game. Let's continue the hate 🎉

Nah the game is trash, and always has been. This is not a mater of perspective. This game could easily be recreated with more game mechanics and become something that people don't play for like 3 months and throw it out. Its literally a money grab every single time. Tekken, street fighter, all these games are trash. you do the exact same thing, and dragon ball z sparking implements more then 60% less that you can do within the game Every single dragon bal z game is going to flop like this until they start making real dragon ball z games.
