Do you think I'm right in thinking that this is paving the way for Motorsport to be coming eventually as well? And is it just me or is this a big deal?
I’ve got to agree with you, man! And honestly I believe it is great for both sides. Specially the way gt7 is going right now, I see this move from Forza bringing some attention and concern to other racing games.

Nah I see the dirty drivers of GT7 going to Forza. If MOTORSPORT enters, then even better.
On FM8 it's nothing but a crash fest. A lot of player on GT7 are gonna love that.
FM8 doesn't compare to GT7 in its driving or graphics. My PC runs it pretty damn smooth at high settings, and that's how I can tell the difference between PC graphics and what we would call playstation graphics.
This is the only way PD will take us seriously. If Motorsport comes it can even help get GT8 out earlier
Thats not how game development works, especially not with PD. they will release it when it is ready and not do a botched early release to compete with other sims.

Well Forza horizon is completely different to both Motorsport and GT7 so it’ll be popular amongst fans who love open worlds
If Forza Motorsport comes along with VR support, PD will start shitting their pants. Realistic or not, FM will take away a good chunk of business.
I dont think PD have much to worry about. But if they do, it will only be good for us consumers.

Thanks O.! Definitely seems like a way to get onto ps5 and build some interest and time to develop Motorsport for ps5 for later 🤔 yay more cars and more race options. If they can do that late 2025 or early 2026 and improve the physics a little it has potential. Yay competition 👏😮😊
GT7 isn't "in trouble" until Forza Motorsport comes over, which will likely happen.
While Forza Motorsport's online certainly isn't as good as GT7's they do have some better qualities. To my knowledge, Motorsport actually has endurace races online, which GT7 doesn't have every week.
The bigger thing Forza has over GT7 is a more modern car list. Forza has the Imsa LMDH cars, and LMP2 cars if I am not mistaken. It also has many of the current GT3 cars which GT7 does not. With this, you have multi-class racing, which GT7 doesn't have. Then you have the Nascar Cup cars that got added recently in Forza, again, something GT7 doesn't have.
This car list alone could definitely pull people away from GT7. I have been dieing to drive any of the LMDH or LMH cars on a consel game, and Forza on PS5 would be the first and only game to have it. I think I would buy Forza Motorsport if it came onto PS5. PD should definitely be wary of the possibility.
Not sure motorsport would sell great on ps5, but I could see Horizon selling decently.
Horizon is arcade while GT is simulation lite. There's probably some overlap between players and if Horizon sells well, then I can see a problem for Sony either getting some defectors to Microsoft when the next gen comes or if Microsoft can make forza better than GT.
Forza is a visually good game and always has been
However it has a fundamental flaw which has never been addressed
You have no feel of grip

If anything, it sounds like Forza is in trouble, having to search for new platforms. I have both PS and Xbox, and played Forza Horizon 5 till my eyes popped out, so I have no bias, but this sounds like Xbox trying to claw some money back from the other Forza's shortcomings.

No Way! This is amazing. I was playing Forza Horizon 3 and I loved it. And now I can play an another epic Racing Game on the PS5.
And I don't think that this is a problem for GT7 because it's a totally another Racing Category. FH is a complete Arcade Racer, while GT7 is more of a sim.
I would say gt7 will be in trouble for those who like drifting, but for racing i don't think it'll change much
I got Forza motorsport on PC. Graphically it was nice, but otherwise it was a bit meh!. Physics didn't feel amazing. No VR support, GT7 has some of the best VR of any racing game. Personally I think there was a lot of hype for Forza motorsport when it released, saying it was going to be competition to all other sims, but then most people realised it wasn't that great. Steam reviews are mixed.
I wouldn't say gran turismo will ever be in trouble. I just see it as more options
This could be very interesting. Like you said, horizon is different. I would love to see more open world driving. I have horizon but love Playstation

I'm excited to have Forza on PS5, seeing as I don't have the funds right now to buy an Xbox this is great news. I've been wanting this as much as I have wanted a Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. Now this gives me even more of a reason to not play GT7 as its sucks at the moment. And unlike most people I have an open mind when it comes to Forza
Horizon has NOTHING on GT! Maybe NFS should be worried. Now if FM comes to PS, I'd buy it. But I don't see it replacing GT a my daily driver

Motorsport would be a great addition to PS5, need more tracks and fun. GT7 has gotten stagnant and boring, not enough tracks… gt6 has tons and that was way back on the ps3!

No, don't be a "........", MS will never fund another F.Motorsport - that was it. And Horizon is just extremely casual mess, can't polish the boots of what LA Nightclub was and still is. And don't get me started on rubber banding issues (like 10x worse than GT)

I don't trust Forza the online is still terrible an people drive with little to no respect plus I speculate that Sony accepted this deal after a very terrible year an losing close to 1 billion dollars over the last couple years. People haven't realized or paid attention to what was happening in the background. I would expect more games to come over to PS

Only thing pd needs to do is revise the penalty system and make them bleed DR when their clearly dirty , not putting them back into the same lobbies , and not to be racing with the S lobbies 👍
