You helped me out by reminding me of the smart folders and I found the one showing completed tasks! I seem to have a "free" version of todo? I don't have office 365. Might have to get it just to have more functions in ToDo. I also use OneNote all the time.

Excellent analysis. Concise, well organized, and comprehensive. Thanks so much! I was looking for exactly this. I am using Google Keep for tasks, and it is just not cutting it.

I've tried both, stuck with Google Tasks but it seems very minimum - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I do like how it integrates with Google Calendar.
You do have a web view of tasks, via Google calendar.
however I've found too often that there's things that google tasks vs web and app version where the functionality isn't fully there.
Recurring tasks isn't great either on the tab

Well I use Microsoft to do for year I think to switch to Google as I need to integrate it with google email. The problem is that google does not support folders.

Prigge... Get Microsoft to incorporate a "tag feature" in TODO like IOS reminders has now and I promise you this will be a game changer for folks who are following GTD or hybrid versions of it. To me being able to tag a context is a very big deal and I don't want to type #home or #waiting, I want the ability to tag as I capture and move things along the process to getting done!
