I've watched a few To Do guide videos recently and yours was the one that really brought the seemingly disparate parts into a cohesive whole. To Do has been that one little corner of my Microsoft 365 account I've been ignoring so this was the perfect push for me to finally explore an alternative to my longstanding desktop Outlook Task process, which hasn't really working for me anymore. Thanks!
Thanks a lot dear Friend! I’ve used different To Do apps (Apple Reminders, Todoist, Tick Tick), but Microsoft To Do for me is most reasonable choice: 1) cross platform (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android apps + web) 2) free 3) functional 4) pretty )) One major drawback - lack of calendar (same like other apps, except Tick Tick) Microsoft To Do is a powerful and convenient tool for me
I feel lucky to have stumbled on this training. Wow. It was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for creating this and making To Do so easy and useful.
agreed, i'm in the process of converting from notion, gmail to MS office. I'm a little nervous about the costs if I find I hit a storage limit w/one drive but will cross that bridge at that time.
Great video. Neat explanation. Just wondering what you do with the flagged email once you’ve turned it into a task I.e. currently I use my inbox as the todo list. By doing it your way, do you just let the outlook inbox go wild (because it doesn’t matter any more?)… thanks
Things seem to be changing so fast with Microsoft, for me I’m having a hard time keeping up. I’ve been switching to To Do mainly but things on my outlook calendar are being missed. Do you have a video on using calendar (also pretty good for managing tasks) and to do?
Hi Jonathan, Great tutorial - many thanks. One thing though, I do not have 'Flagged Emails' along with My Day, Important Completed etc. I've been to Connected Apps in Settings, but only Planner is there. I can't find Flagged Emails anywhere in Settings. Any ideas? Many thanks!
Hi great video, very helpful. I have a question thou, you say at the end of video (near 17mins), that you can just add tasks to your next day, rather than the same day? I.e. plan tomorrow, however I thought you could only add tasks to the current day and not the next day? Is there a way of doing this? Or are the tasks just carried over to the next day which have not been completed? As any time i add tasks to my day and they are not completed, when i open to do the next day, i have to add the task again. Rather than them already appearing in my day list.😊 I hope i have explained myself correctly
Unfortunately, this functionality is not available in ToDo. You can only add tasks to the current day but not in advance. There is a feature request for this somewhere in the feedback forums for ToDo but I don't have it at hand right now.
There is a setting where you can have tasks marked due with today's date appear in the My Day list. So it will auto-populate with today's tasks on the date you've marked them due
Decently presented tutorial but a few issues. 1.My Day clears at the end of the day so planning tasks the day before this day wouldn’t work. 2. Assigned tasks is not just planner, you can also share lists and assign tasks that way

Hi Jonathan. Thanks for this very good tutorial. I currently use the classic Tasks (in Outlook), and have many tasks, some of which include lots of text and attached files. I saw that To Do is taking the place of the classic Tasks (which will be removed in the coming months). Is there any way to "export" the existing tasks into To To? In addition, I was wondering if To Do synchronizes with the calendar the way it does with the emails.
My outlook menu (on mac) looks nothing like yours (15:50 in the video) and doesn't have the follow up function you showed? How do I get that (and all those fun menu items?)
Hi Jonathan, is it possible to generate a to do list (task list), whihc collates tasks assigned to me from applications such as MS Project Online, Planner, Outlook etc i.e. a sigle view of tasks / do to's generated from 365 app's.
Kind of a silly app to be honest. It needs the calendar integration directly within to be most useful. Otherwise, I really don't see the point and you may as well just use outlook's clunky interface. This app would be A+ if it had the calendar and times within.

Perhaps it's a broken update - but I can't drag tasks into lists or groups, and I can only create one list. Wish Microsoft would create a functioning product.

This may not be of much value for Black jackals but it means a lot to us. Literally in few minutes I learnt almost everything I need to know. I never used this app before and now I know all the basics and I have started using it. For many of us it is ultimate tutorial. Please keep it up. I don't rhink this Jackal needs any apology.

Great tutorial. Thanks for demonstrating how to make my day easier and more effective.
I can confirm that the app works well on an ipad. Bo issues. Another great video.
Thank you, you showed me exactly what I wanted to know in a concise and easy to understand way. Thank you thank you thank you!
Really enjoyed this and am in set up mode. For some reason I cannot move tasks to lists I created, I have searched for solutions and no luck
Strange I was able to in My day only and set it all up and now I can move anything thing to lists. Thanks for your tutorial!
Excellent! I'm Notion and Taskade fan, however, currently, MS office cach all my attention. Today, MS To Do, Onenote and Teams are my favorite setup😊

Love the presentation style, and you answer the questions in my head. Well done on the service.
Thanks for the great video, I found the use of examples very helpful in understanding the functions of To Do.
Thank you for this simple explanation! I was getting so overwhelmed

Thank you SO MUCH for this video, the most useful of the ones I found to help me get going with using this app. Appreciate it!

My experience of My Day is the same... plan tomorrow only to find that My Day was emptied overnight.

Major short coming of this program.

Very helpful walk thru
Why do you prefer the desktop version over the online?
Excellent Video ❤❤❤❤
Amazing video! Time to get organized
Is there a place in To Do where I can see all tasks and flagged emails together?
Is there a way to add multiple emails to a task in to do?
If I get assigned a task in word does it show up in assigned? Also can I make a task reccuring after it has been assigned?
Wonderful, thank-you.
Can you make a task for everyone on address?

How do you Edit a group name or delete a group? (New to office 365 and To-do, and something that seems like it should be so simple is not, sigh.)

Paul, have a look at todays video. Planner is getting redesigned early next year. There is going to be one pane of glass for everything.
So it’s not possible until the new release?
Excellent!!👏👏👏👏
Awesome, keep it up
How do I save Microsoft to do to my desktop to openly view it, without having to open the application?
I just dont get why the quick add is at the bottom lol
On the IOS To Do app how do I move a task from the default inbox list to a new list I have created. It does not seem obvious.
Kind of a silly app to be honest. It needs the calendar integration directly within to be most useful. Otherwise, I really don't see the point and you may as well just use outlook's clunky interface. This app would be A+ if it had the calendar and times within.
How do you assign tasks to others?
Isn't "My Day" today? So, if you do it at the end of the day for tomorrow does that even work?
I had the same thought Scott

If you create a list and shared it with someone, you can assign tasks, not just from planner
