Wow, the variety of engine sounds in this video is absolutely mind-blowing! Each one has its own unique character, and it really highlights the engineering marvel behind these machines. I find it fascinating how the sound can evoke different emotions-some are powerful and aggressive, while others have a more smooth, melodic quality. It's almost like each engine has a personality! This makes me wonder how much sound design plays a role in automotive engineering. Do you think manufacturers intentionally tune engines for specific sound profiles, or is it purely a byproduct of performance?
Some very interesting engines, mixed with filler videos - and with very erratic and often totally incorrect descriptions! Not worth picking through if you cannot categorise and describe things correctly. [edit - typo]
The 2 stroke Nordberg radial diesel is a beautiful engine!! The 2 stroke Detroits are simply the greatest diesels in world history hands down, that 12V71 N is simply bad ass!!! That flat plane Bugatti petrol engine ran like crap, acted like the timing was way too retarded and it had at least one leaky valve. I heard scrap engines that ran much better. Typical 4 stroke issues prone. That huge steam engine with a multi cylinder barring engine us absolutely beautiful! 🤤 The Brits built some beautiful stuff! The Packard V12 aero engine ran sweet for a lowly 4 stroke. Cool stuff! 😋👍🏻
Re the B&W in Copenhagen. Since when does something built in 1934 become 101 years old? And I sailed on a ship with pretty much an identical one of these engines. They were building bigger engines long before 3 decades were up as well. Very poor descriptions and false information.
@technofusionhd That last engine is NOT a Detroit Diesel engine, it said Nordberg Radial Engine. I agree with some of the comments, that 12V71 Detroit Diesel is an awesome engine. I have a mini version, the 4-53T in my 76 Ford F250 4X4 CC pickup.

great composition of engines! love the Detroit ..
Thank you very much!
I came here to see the info 9n the Nordberg engine but the graphics were about the Detroits. I love my Jimmys, but where is the info on the Nordbergs?
Si yo tembien queria saber algo del Nordberg y terminamos con DDA
@5:06 That is not an Engine from a Tiger tank. They used a Maybach 21 Litre V12 gasoline engine which looks nothing like that you've depicted. 🙂
indeed, the engine shown is fuel injected when the maybachs were carbureted
The Detroit Diesels sound fantastic!❤My Dad was a Draftsman on some of the Worlds biggest crankshafts...

Should have had the tiny 4-cyl. Petter that powered reefers for decades.

The Maybach HL230 was a *gasoline* engine, with four two-barrel Solex carbs!

poor dog just wants to play!
No specs on the Deutz V-8?
Dude...play with your dog for crist sakes
Didn't even show the engine that was in the thumbnail.

21:26... Take those goofy mufflers off that engine. It doesn't sound like anything, and it SHOULD.. 🤷🏻
The Tigers were petrol engines not diesels. None of the WW2 German panzers were diesel
