Beautiful track, great reaction. May I suggest a reaction to the track "World Destruction" by Time Zone,( John Lydon and Afrika Bambaataa ). One of the very best tracks involving Mr Lydon ever, in my view. Released back in 1984 and more relevant now than ever.
Its Tracey Thorn who sings on Protection. She is an great vocalist thought and it is a fantastic track. I prefer it it to Teardrop. It is definately worth a listen.
Madonna did work with Massive Attack on the 1995 cover of Marvin Gaye's I Want You and it's beautiful. Most of her 1994 LP Bedtime Stories was co-produced with Massive Attack's producer Nellee Hooper. That's the album where Bjork wrote Bedtime Story for her.
If there was ever a poll for a flawless perfect tune this would be a candidate. I had my doubts when I first heard Jose Gonzales would cover this but his cover is also amazing and well worth checking out
A really beautiful track. It was a stroke of genius for Massive Attack to ask Liz Fraser to provide vocals. I'd also like to echo @chaoscarl-jd4gb in recommending Time Zone's "World destruction" for a reaction. It preceeded Run DMC/Aerosmith's "Walk this way" as pretty much the first rock/rap hit. At the time, it seemed slightly shocking that Afrika Bambaataa and John Lydon would work together, given the difference in musical culture between the two.
Newton Faulkner does an absolute insane acoustic version of this song but he is an incredible guitarist with everything he plays …Dream catch me may be worth a reaction 😊
Massive attack and Liz Frazer, music doesn’t get much better than this in my humble opinion. Nice one Nick. Portishead’s Roads live from roseland’s ballroom, next please.
The Madonna suggestion made sense, since Massive Attack worked with her on I Want You earlier. But Liz Fraser owns it. Also, you may want to check out Cocteau Twins' version of Be Still, which was an ensemble charity single originally featuring Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor, with Sinead's voice still included in the Cocteau Twins version.
In the late 80's another collective started in Bristol centering around Gary Clail. The On-U Sound System and Tackhead were the two main parts and although the sound is different (electronic dub) its well worth checking out. It existed in the same timeframe as the developing Trip Hop but broke before. Try 'Human Nature', 'Beef', 'Two Thieves and a Liar' and 'Privatise the Air part 2' ( you can listen to part one but it's more of a dance track and the whole thing lasts about 10 minutes). It's quite left wing and anti-authoritarian in subject as the titles suggest. Notable artists to feature are Keith Levene and Jah Wobble of Public Image Ltd
Nick, not sure if you have reacted to any Portishead, another trip hop band. Their album Dummy is legendary. Would suggest Glory Box, Roads, Sour Times and Mysterons in particular.
Great reaction.
That smile when the musical dopamine hits. Your reactions are always authentic and pure.
Well, thank you!
I remember Newton Faulkner doing a great cover of this on just the acoustic guitar

I remember listening to this as the sun rose aged 19 on a hill in Northumbria. Memories.
Another great MA track with Liz on vocals is Protection, which happens to be my favorite track from them. You may want to have a listen 🔥

This was the opening theme song of the television series HOUSE which had me in turn watch some episodes.
Yes, I read about that. It's a good show!
Best album imho, not a bad track on it!
Hi Nick Happy New Year ! Thank you.Really.Thank you.

The On-U Sounds catalogue is a very deep (and rewarding) rabbit hole of musical goodness.

Reaction request to Let forever be by The Chemical Brothers featuring Noel Gallagher. Not sure if you know this one already, great song.
YES 🙌🏼
I've been thinking about doing a Chemical Brothers reaction, and this song now has my attention!
