My Vet Pennfield Animal Hospital accidentally overprescribed metronidazole an antibiotic to my dog Cooper for 30 days. I asked him any side effects, he said no. 21 days later he couldn't walk, first vet at VCA emergency hospital in Kzoo told me he a back sprain. Two days later Cooper was having seizures, drooling, eye twitching and couldn't stand, I took him back to emergency hospital, second vet said he was a brain issue. I asked both emergency vets could it be toxic, they said no. I had him euthanized. Three days later my local vet called and said he overprescribed metronidazole and for too long, he said Coopers symptoms were caused by the drug reaction, he didn’t have a back sprain or brain issue. The metronidazole could have been stopped and he probably would have been okay. I've been crying for 3 weeks. I don't trust vets anymore. My best friend is gone.
To quote someone I despise, I feel your pain. So sorry to hear of your beloved friend's passing. We had to euthanize our 18 yo Jack Chi. We'd had her all her life. Please know others feel and share your pain.
And you would rather allow your pet to suffer to death? You would rather allow their body to shut down and let them deteriorate into nothing? That’s unconditional love to you? Imagine having cancer and being in so much pain, so scared, terminally ill and your family just lets you sit there and rot away until you’re dead. Your pet spends their entire life loving you and they rely on you to care for them so at the end of the day, a peaceful non painful goodbye IS THE MOST LOVING DECISION YOU COULD HAVE DONE FOR THEM!!!

Fact of the matter is the pet was "Killed". It didn't die on it's own. Call it what it is. You "Killed" your pet...........period!
You have obviously never had to do this. The animal is now at peace and out of pain. It is the hardest part of having an animal.
